WEEK 17 BAL at CIN DEN at OAK JAC at IND STL at SEA
BUF at NE DET at MIN KC at SD TB at NO
CAR at ATL GB at CHI NYJ at MIA WAS at NYG
*UPDATED CLE at PIT HOU at TEN SF at ARI PHI at DAL

Prediction: HOU 10, TEN 34 (Line: TEN by 7)

Update: Case Keenum will be a game time decision but could play. A most sincere hope is that your fantasy season is not depending on the Houston quarterback in week 17 but neither are a safe choice, let alone remotely productive. Dennis Johnson is indeed out and Jonathan Grimes is the last man standing at running back.

End of the line for the woeful Texans who are on a 13 game losing streak and yet of their two wins this year, one was a 30-24 victory against these Titans in week two. That's all the Texans need now - end with the Titans looking for revenge. The 8-9 Titans are only 2-5 at home but the Texans are playing without a coach and many starters.

HOU @ TEN Rush Catch Pass
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick 230,2
QB Case Keenum 100
RB Andre Brown 80,1 2-20
RB Jonathan Grimes 60,1 1-10
WR DeAndre Hopkins 3-40
WR Andre Johnson 4-60
TE Ryan Griffin 5-50,1
PK Randy Bullock 1 FG 1 XP

Pregame Notes: The worst year in franchise history comes to a close and the head coach search is already underway. The pursuit of a franchise quarterback is probably not over with Case Keenum regressing badly after starting out with two impressive games. He's only thrown for one touchdown over his last four starts. The shine is off this pumpkin. Keenum remains day-to-day with a thumb injury so the final game may end up back up with Matt Schaub.

Arian Foster is on injured reserve. Ben Tate is on injured reserve. Newly signed Deji Karim just broke his collar bone and will be on injured reserve. Jonathan Grimes is expected to be the starter at tailback because Dennis Johnson is questionable with a hip injury and he's not the answer when healthy anyway. This backfield has been drained.

Owen Daniels stopped playing in week five and Garrett Graham had a few games of note but mostly just 30 yard efforts with no scores. Ryan Griffin showed some spark in the last two games and could figure in next year.

This entire team could be turned over other than the wideouts. The quarterback and running back positions will be one of the focuses this offseason. Andre Johnson enjoyed two games that produced five touchdowns in a two week span and then no other scores in any other game. Johnson ended with eight receptions for 76 yards in Houston against the Titans. DeAndre Hopkins was the hot rookie draft pick but only scored twice and shows the inconsistency expected from a first-year player on a bad team. Hopkins had plenty of bad games but enough good efforts to make 2014 look much more promising.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: Bottom line is that they are down to starting Jonathan Grimes and may revert back to Schaub again with Keenum hurt. Andre Johnson is always worth a start because of his upside but no other players here merit consideration. There could be yet another change at quarterback and the rest of the team just wants the year to end. Over the last two games, their offense netted only one touchdown. total. Start Johnson who totaled 76 yards in the first meeting but avoid the risk the others have.

Pregame Notes: The Titans get the best possible opponent for week 17 though that was less clear back in week two when the Texans had their final win for the season. The promise that started the season is long gone and like so many other teams, the Titans will be in the market for a new quarterback if not coaches as well.

Jake Locker does show sparks of talent but cannot remain healthy. Ryan Fitzpatrick was a nice pickup in the offseason since he ended up starting nine games so far and scored in each one at least once. He's not been the answer to winning but he is also not the problem. He remains a solid backup but more than a few games and the team just ends up mediocre.

Chris Johnson slogs through yet another season where his rushing totals are highly inconsistent and normally under 50 yards per game. He scored nine times this year and four were via a pass. He'd be a perfectly normally mediocre back were it not for knowing he once ran for 2000 yards and was unstoppable if only for one season. He'll likely get the 50 yards he needs to break 1000 yards for the sixth straight season but his 3.8 yards per carry is much lower than any other year. One of his best efforts was the 96 yards he gained on 25 runs in Houston back in week two.

Johnson was saddled with sharing the ball with Shonn Greene who was never a big enough factor to merit any fantasy consideration but his four scores and ten touches per week were just enough to limit Johnson.

Delanie Walker scored six times so far and while he has a couple of nice efforts, mostly he remained below fantasy relevance with marginal yardage. He only caught one pass in Houston but it was a ten-yard touchdown.

Justin Hunter may be a good one if the Titans can just get a big armed quarterback that can find him on deep routes. Hunter is blazing fast and recorded two 100+ yard efforts and scored four times this year. But if he doesn't score, he's been horrible in most games with six games ending with only one or no catches. Kendall Wright is rightfully installed as the primary wideout and already passed 1000 yards on the season. He's only scored twice though but at least offers solid yardage every week. He and Hunter could make a formidable pair as early as 2014 but it will take a new quarterback to access the potential. Wright caught seven passes for 54 yards and scored against the Texans.

MATCH TO THE DEFENSE: Playing at home against a dispirited Texan team looking to end the year, the Titans should have decent results. Chris Johnson is worth a start this week and Wright should yet again offer solid yardage. The rest carry more risk than reward but there is upside here with the Texans.
