THE HUDDLE CHALLENGE

Official Rules of the 2008 Huddle Weekly Challenge

1. Overview: The Huddle Weekly Challenge is for members only and will consist of an unlimited number of teams, extending from NFL week 1 through NFL week 17. Each week teams will field a starting lineup made up of any NFL player. The highest scoring teams each week will win that week's prizes. Weekly scores do not accumulate over the 17 weeks. Additional prizes are awarded for teams that win more than a single weekly challenge. Sign up here.

2. Available Players:

a. Player Pool:  All players on an NFL team roster at the start of the NFL regular season for the positions of quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and kicker will make up the official Player Pool for The Huddle Weekly Challenge. This Player Pool will also include the 32 NFL teams to be used in the team defense position. After the start of the NFL regular season any player that is added to an NFL team roster will be added to the official Player Pool.

b. Once Play Begins:  Each week any player in the Player Pool is available to team managers for their starting lineup.

3. Weekly Play:  Each week starting in NFL week 1 and continuing through NFL week 17, all team managers will fill out their starting lineup by selecting any available player from the Player Pool of NFL players.

4. Lineups Requirements:  Starting lineups will consist of the following:

  • 1 Quarterback
  • 3 Running Backs
  • 4 Wide Receivers
  • 1 Tight End
  • 1 Place Kicker
  • 1 Team Defense/Special team
  • 1 Flex RB/WR/TE

5. League Management Web Address:  You can access your team via the internet by going to http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2008/weekly_challenge.

6. Lineup Submission:  Lineups must be submitted via the Submit Lineup Page after logging in at http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2008/weekly_challenge. It is the responsibility of each team manager to submit timely, valid starting lineups each week.

a. Submission Time:  Starting lineups must be submitted before the kickoff of the first game of that day for players who will be playing on that day.

b. Locked Starting Players:  A starting player is considered locked as of the kickoff of the NFL game in which he plays.  Non-locked players in a starting lineup can be changed prior to the kickoff of the NFL game in which they play.  For example, starting players locked as of kickoff of their Thursday game can not be changed, but the non-locked starting lineup players can be changed up until the kickoff of the game in which they play, like Sunday morning.  This rule applies to non-locked players in a Monday night game also.  For example, non-locked starting lineup players following Sunday’s games may be changed to another available player up until kickoff of the Monday night game.

c. No Starters Submitted:  Failure to submit a full lineup by the first kickoff on the day of the last NFL game that week will result in zero points awarded for that team.

d. Tie Breaker: Tie breaker value is the total number of points that will be scored by the owner's team that week. A tie breaker value must be submitted with each weekly lineup. If none is submitted then the weekly lineup will be deemed invalid and ineligible for winning prizes.

7. Weekly Winners:  At the conclusion of each week's NFL games, the team will be ranked based upon total points scored during that week's games.  The teams ranked #1 through #3 will be awarded a weekly prize.

8. Multi-Weekly Winners:  If at the conclusion of each week's NFL games, the team ranked #1 has been ranked #1 in a previous week, that team will be awarded a multi-week prize.

9. Prize Breakdown:

Weekly Prize Payouts
1st place is awarded $100
2nd place is awarded a free 2009 Huddle membership
3rd place is awarded a free 2009 Huddle membership

Multi- Weekly Prize Payouts
2nd weekly win by the same team is awarded $1000
3rd weekly win by the same team is awarded $10,000

10. Weekly Ties for Prizes: In the event of a tied total points scored amount between multiple teams in a given week, the tie breaker amount entered with each starting lineup will be used to break the tie. The tied team whose entered value is closest to their team's score for that week will be determined to have won the tie. In the event that a tie still exists after applying the tie breaker value, the tying teams will share equally in the weekly prize award for their rankings.  For example, if the two highest scoring teams had the exact same total points scored and the exact same tie breaker value difference, they would share the $100 prize by splitting it evenly - each receiving $50. Unbreakable ties for 2nd and 3rd place will result in all tying teams receiving the weekly prize. Ties are not counted when determining multi-weekly winners.

11. Scoring:  Players may score from any position on the field in the following manner.

a. Calculations:  Scoring will be calculated out to the hundredth for all players (e.g. 23.15).
