New York Giants PK Aldrick Rosas connects on a 55-yard field goal in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 17, against the Detroit Lions, and he finished with four points.
Huddle Up: Marshall Koehn is also in camp, but it's hard to see him unseating the incumbent Rosas, especially after his 55-yarder reportedly made it with plenty of room to spare. Rosas has a strong leg and will be kicking for a high-octane offense, so he should be a Top 10 fantasy option this season.
Wayne Gallman - RB - New York Giants
New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman rushed five times for 26 yards and a touchdown in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Friday, Aug. 17, and he added two grabs for nine yards and a score.
Huddle Up: Gallman is stuck behind Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Stewart on the depth chart, but he will still likely get his chance to make an impact. Barkley is sidelined with an injury now, and is only a rookie, and Stewart has a propensity for injury. Right now, Gallman is only worth a reserve roster spot as a late-round pick in the deepest of fantasy leagues, but he could be an impact player if he gets a chance.
Cameron Meredith - WR - New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints WR Cameron Meredith (knee) was able to make his preseason debut Friday, Aug. 17, against the Arizona Cardinals. He was only targeted once and failed to catch the pass right at it which was intercepted after it bounced into the air. He wasn't happy with his performance, but felt good as he makes his final steps in his recovery. 'It felt great,' Meredith said. 'Just getting out there, getting in the groove of things.'
Huddle Up: Meredith suffered a torn ACL and torn MCL in a preseason game last August as a member of the Chicago Bears. He played the entire first half and didn't show any ill effects of his injury. If he can regain his form and build up his stamina, he has WR3 upside while working with Drew Brees and the high-octane New Orleans offense.
Jonathan Williams - RB - New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints RB Jonathan Williams saw some work with the first-team offense in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 17, against the Arizona Cardinals. He had a seven-yard run and a 19-yard rush behind the first-teamers, but he appeared to miss a blitz pickup in the second quarter.
Huddle Up: Williams has had a couple of decent performances in the preseason, as he challenges veterans Shane Vereen and Terrance West for the third running back job behind Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. Unless one of the stars in the top two spots go down, whomever wins the No. 3 job is still not terribly useful from a fantasy perspective.
Chad Williams - WR - Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals WR Chad Williams turned heads in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 17, against the New Orleans Saints, posting three receptions for 33 yards. He and WR Christian Kirk made their presence felt, much to the delight of head coach Steve Wilks. 'I definitely did,' Wilks said. 'Those guys did a great job.'
Huddle Up: Williams and Kirk stepped up with Brice Butler (foot) sidelined, as they battle JJ Nelson and others for depth chart position. As far as Williams is concerned, it was redemption, as he had several drops in practice on Wednesday. His coach said he would 'catch everything' in the game, and Wilks proved prophetic since Williams didn't have any miscues. For now, Williams is only worth a late-round flier in the deepest of fantasy leagues.
Christian Kirk - WR - Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk caught four passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 20-15 preseason win over the New Orleans Saints Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Kirk doesn't have a clear path to a lot of playing time early on, but he's not a bad late-round flier in redraft leagues.
David Johnson - RB - Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson rushed six times for 22 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for five yards in a 20-15 preseason win over the New Orleans Saints Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: As long as Johnson stays healthy, he should return to his workhorse role in the Arizona offense. Even coming off the injury, he's a top-five option at his position.
C.J. Anderson - RB - Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers RB C.J. Anderson rushed eight times for 39 yards and caught two passes for nine yards in a 27-20 win over the Miami Dolphins Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Christian McCaffrey starred in this one, but Anderson should still see some work on early downs. At the very least, he's worth owning as a RB4 in case something happens to McCaffrey.
Christian McCaffrey - RB - Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed five times for 92 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 28 yards in a 27-20 win over the Miami Dolphins Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: The Panthers really do seem to be committed to feeding McCaffrey as a runner, and if he continues to see plenty of carries, he is going to be a RB1 in PPR formats.
Kenyan Drake - RB - Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake rushed eight times for 54 yards and caught three passes for four yards in a 27-20 preseason loss to the Carolina Panthers Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Frank Gore is going to see some touches, but Drake is the more explosive back. He's a low-end RB2 candidate.
Nick Chubb - RB - Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed 11 times for 53 yards and a touchdown in a 19-17 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: With Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson also in the fold, Chubb is probably going to have a limited role this season. He's worth a late-round stash in redraft leagues in case of an injury, but his long-term prospects are much more intriguing.
Carlos Hyde - RB - Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns RB Carlos Hyde rushed nine times for 64 yards and a touchdown and lost five yards on his only catch in a 19-17 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Duke Johnson is going to cap Hyde's upside in PPR formats, but Hyde should see plenty of work on early downs and can be a strong RB3 in standard scoring.
LeSean McCoy - RB - Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed four times for 11 yards and lost a yard on his only reception in a 19-17 preseason win over the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: McCoy is locked into an every-down role for Buffalo, but some allegations off the field make his future cloudy. He's a RB1 if he plays the entire season, but he will be one of the riskier picks of the first few rounds.
A.J. McCarron - QB - Buffalo Bills
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills QB AJ McCarron (shoulder) suffered a hairline fracture of his clavicle Friday, Aug. 17, against the Cleveland Browns, a source told The Buffalo News. It is unclear how much time he will miss.
Huddle Up: It looks like Buffalo will be playing Josh Allen, ready or not. It is difficult to envision the Bills bypassing their first-round quarterback in favor of Nathan Peterman. Allen is a QB3 in the deepest of 2018 formats.
Josh Allen - QB - Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed nine of his 13 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown and rushed three times for 18 yards in a 19-17 preseason win over the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Allen showed some promise and his athleticism, and with AJ McCarron suffering a shoulder injury, he could make a strong push to be the Week 1 starter. He won't need to be rostered in redraft leagues, but he is worth stashing in keeper formats.
A.J. McCarron - QB - Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills QB AJ McCarron (shoulder) suffered a right shoulder injury in the preseason game against the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: McCarron is fighting to earn the starting job, but any type of serious injury could throw the door wide open for Josh Allen to grab the spot. No matter who is under center for Buffalo this year, they don't need to be owned in redraft leagues.
Kerryon Johnson - RB - Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson rushed four times for nine yards and caught one pass for 10 yards in a 30-17 preseason loss to the New York Giants Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Although Johnson didn't back up his huge performance from the first preseason game, he did play with the first-team. He should have a role on early downs immediately, and he could emerge as the lead back sooner rather than later. He is well worth the investment as a RB4, and he should be a first-round selection in rookie drafts.
LeGarrette Blount - RB - Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount rushed 11 times for 32 yards in a 30-17 preseason loss to the New York Giants Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Blount received 11 of the 23 carries, and he should serve as the power back this year. His potential to find the end zone makes him worth grabbing as a RB4.
Calvin Ridley - WR - Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley caught three passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 28-14 preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Ridley should open the year as Atlanta's No. 3 receiver, and his potential makes him worth a look as a WR4 in redraft leagues. In rookie drafts, he should be off the board in the first round.
Austin Hooper - TE - Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper caught both of his targets for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason Friday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Both of Hooper's catches came while Matt Ryan was in the game. The hype has been building around him throughout the offseason, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sneak into TE1 range this season.
