Fantasy Football Breaking News

  • Kyle Rudolph - TE - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 5:02pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph posted seven receptions for 72 yards on eight targets in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Rudolph has Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs to contend with for targets, but he still sees the eye of his quarterback fairly frequently. While he didn't score in this one, Rudolph is a big threat in the red zone, too. He is a solid low-end TE1 in most leagues heading into Week 3 against the Bills.

  • Stefon Diggs - WR - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 4:57pm ET

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs posted nine receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 2 tie in Green Bay. He also added an important game-tying two-point conversion reception.

Huddle Up: Diggs seems to be ecstatic to have Kirk Cousins as his quarterback, as he has racked up 12 catches on 19 targets while piling up 171 yards and three scores in the first two games. The good times should continue to roll in Week 3 against the beleaguered Bills in a home game.

  • Adam Thielen - WR - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 4:55pm ET

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen posted 12 receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Thielen has jelled very nicely with Kirk Cousins, posting back-to-back 100-yard games to start the season while being targeted 25 times with 18 grabs already. Needless to say, he has emerged as a bona fide WR1 in PPR formats, and a solid WR2 in most other leagues. The Vikings host the skidding Bills in Week 3.

  • Latavius Murray - RB - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 4:52pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray rushed four times for 19 yards in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Murray didn't have a very productive day, but he could be in line for a much bigger role after Dalvin Cook left in overtime with a hamstring injury. If Cook is forced to miss time then Murray could re-emerge as a solid RB3 or flex play in Week 3.

  • Kirk Cousins - QB - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 4:49pm ET

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins completed 35-of-48 passes for 425 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the Week 2 tie on the road against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Cousins might need to continue jacking it up frequently in the near future, as Dalvin Cook left the game in overtime with a hamstring injury and his status is uncertain. The Vikings will face the beleaguered Bills next week in the Twin Cities, so another big game could be in the offing for Cousins.

  • LeGarrette Blount - RB - Detroit Lions
    Posted 9/16/18 4:32pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers for coming off the bench and pushing LB Elijah Wood.

Huddle Up: The ejection led to problems for the Lions late, as Theo Riddick left the game with an ankle injury and Ameer Abdullah was a healthy scratch. That left just rookie Kerryon Johnson in the backfield to finish up. It's uncertain if Blount will face further disciplinary action from the league.

  • Theo Riddick - RB - Detroit Lions
    Posted 9/16/18 4:30pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) suffered an ankle injury late in the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: Riddick left injured and LeGarrette Blount was ejected, so Kerryon Johnson was the only healthy running back able to finish the game. The Lions host the Patriots in Week 3.

  • Donte Moncrief - WR - Jacksonville Jaguars
    Posted 9/16/18 4:26pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Donte Moncrief (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 2 against the New England Patriots and he limped off the field. He had four grabs for 34 yards and a touchdown before departing.

Huddle Up: Moncrief established himself as the go-to guy early on for Blake Bortles, racking up a team-best nine targets in the game. If he is able to return without missing time he could be a valuable WR4 or WR5 heading into Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.

  • Dalvin Cook - RB - Minnesota Vikings
    Posted 9/16/18 4:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in overtime of the Week 2 game with the Green Bay Packers. He ran 10 times for 38 yards while adding three grabs for 52 yards before departing.

Huddle Up: Cook and the Minnesota run game never really got going in the tie, and now Cook could potentially be in line to miss some time. Hamstrings are tricky for running backs. We're circle back around and update the situation once the Vikings officially address his injury. Latavius Murray would benefit if Cook is out.

  • Todd Gurley - RB - Los Angeles Rams
    Posted 9/16/18 4:17pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (cramps) rushed 19 times for 42 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he left early with cramps.

Huddle Up: Gurley checked out early, but it was likely a precaution that he did not return, as the game was out of hand and there was no sense risking further injury with the game already decided. The Rams battle the Chargers in Week 3.

  • Larry Fitzgerald - WR - Arizona Cardinals
    Posted 9/16/18 4:13pm ET

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had three grabs for 28 yards on five targets before departing.

Huddle Up: Fitzgerald was listed as questionable to return, but he didn't as the Rams were firmly in control of the game and there was no sense having the veteran potentially aggravate the injury further if he was available. Christian Kirk, Chad Williams and JJ Nelson would benefit if Fitzgerald needs to miss time.

  • Greg Zuerlein - PK - Los Angeles Rams
    Posted 9/16/18 4:07pm ET

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (groin) suffered a groin injury in pregame warmups and he did not kick in the Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Huddle Up: With Greg the Leg sidelined, the team elected to go for two-point conversions rather than attempt PATs. He made four field goals last week, so it's a tough and unexpected loss for fantasy owners. If he isn't ready for Week 3 against the Chargers they'll definitely bring someone in.

  • Antonio Brown - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Posted 9/16/18 3:56pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown snagged nine receptions for 67 yards on 17 targets in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: It wasn't a terrible game for Brown, but he was third in receiving yardage during the game and he failed to score. It certainly wasn't from lack of training, as Brown's 17 targets were second to JuJu Smith-Schuster (19). Fantasy owners have no reason to be concerned heading into Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • JuJu Smith-Schuster - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Posted 9/16/18 3:52pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster racked up 13 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 19 targets in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: The catch total and targets were easily career bests, as his previous high was nine grabs in Week 17 and he had 10 targets just twice last season. It was also his fourth-career 100-yard game. He is emerging as a fantasy stud, and should be treated as a WR2 in most formats heading into Week 3 at Tampa Bay on Monday night.

  • Jesse James - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Posted 9/16/18 3:47pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James posted five receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: James, a yinzer from McKeesport, Penn., is going to be a fan favorite at this rate. Ben Roethlisberger loves to use the tight end, jelling for years with Heath Miller, and James is quickly emerging as a star. He'll try to keep it going in Week 3 against the Buccaneers on Monday night.

  • James Conner - RB - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Posted 9/16/18 3:44pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed eight times for 17 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs while adding five grabs for 48 yards.

Huddle Up: Conner had an enormous performance in Week 1, lessening the blow from the absence of Le'Veon Bell. However, the Steelers fell behind 21-0 after one quarter and they got away from the run early on. It wasn't really anything Conner did wrong, although he did go for just 2.1 yards per rush when he was given the chance. He is still a decent RB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 3 in Tampa Bay as long as Bell is holding out.

  • Ben Roethlisberger - QB - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Posted 9/16/18 3:41pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 39-of-60 pass attempts for 452 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 2 loss against the Chiefs and he added a rushing score.

Huddle Up: Roethlisberger had a pair of 100-yard receivers in Jesse James and JuJu Smith-Schuster, and he targeted Smith-Schuster 19 times and Antonio Brown 17 times. With the run not working this week it was Big Ben jacking it up early and often, much to the delight of fantasy owners. The Steelers travel to meet the Buccaneers next Monday night.

  • Chris Conley - WR - Kansas City Chiefs
    Posted 9/16/18 3:36pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Conley posted two grabs for 17 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on his two targets.

Huddle Up: Despite the score, Conley is the third wideout in the pecking order in Kansas City with Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins ahead of him. He also has to contend with Travis Kelce for targets, too. Conley is only worth a look in the very deepest of fantasy leagues at the moment. The Chiefs host the 49ers in Week 3.

  • Tyreek Hill - WR - Kansas City Chiefs
    Posted 9/16/18 3:34pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill registered five receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Hill is off to a red-hot start, jelling nicely with Patrick Mahomes during the early going. This looks like one of the most dangerous young pass connections in the league. The speedster has 12 grabs for 229 yards and three scores through the first two games. Needless to say, he is a legit WR1 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 3 against the 49ers.

  • Sammy Watkins - WR - Kansas City Chiefs
    Posted 9/16/18 3:30pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins posted six receptions for 100 yards on seven targets in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Watkins jelled nicely with Patrick Mahomes in this one, leading all wideouts in targets and yardage in this one. Treat Watkins as a WR4 or flex fantasy option in most leagues heading into Week 3 against the 49ers.
