The Cleveland Browns placed RB Montario Hardesty (knee) on the season-ending Injured Reserve list Tuesday, Aug. 27. His contract expires after the season, and he is not expected to be brought back.
Huddle Up: It was certainly a star-crossed, injury-filled run for Hardesty in Cleveland as the 2010 2nd-round pick rushed for only 537 yards, including a single 100-yard game, and 1 TD in 22 games after missing his entire rookie season.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty (knee) is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery earlier this week.
Huddle Up: With Hardesty out and Dion Lewis a candidate for short-term IR after suffering a broken leg in Thursday's preseason game, Brandon Jackson is now the favorite to be the primary handcuff for Trent Richardson owners.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty (knee, thumb) will have arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday, Aug. 15. He also recently suffered a dislocated right thumb.
Huddle Up: At this point no injury would surprise us when it comes to Hardesty. Dion Lewis has looked good in his absence, which means Hardesty's days as a sleeper/handcuff are numbered.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty has been ruled out for the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15, against the Detroit Lions due to a dislocated right thumb. "We padded him up, and he was OK," head coach Rob Chudzinski said Tuesday, Aug. 13. "He went out and did some individual drills in practice today, and we'll see about him for next week."
Huddle Up: Hardesty's inability to stay healthy has cost him numerous opportunities to stake a claim to carries in the Cleveland backfield. And with Trent Richardson as the feature back and Dion Lewis making waves as a change-of-pace guy, Hardesty may soon find himself looking for a new team's injury report to land on.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty suffered a right thumb injury during practice Monday, Aug. 12.
Huddle Up: Another week, another injury issue with Hardesty, who already is in real danger of losing the No. 2 RB job to newcomer Dion Lewis.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty's roster spot is in jeopardy, but if he can get healthy, he has a decent shot to make the team.
Huddle Up: Hardesty has been unable to stay healthy throughout his NFL career, and it looks like it may wind up costing him his job. At best he's a backup to Trent Richardson, and one who is marginally effective when given playing time anyway.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty missed practice on Sunday, July 28, and coach Rob Chudzinski said Hardesty is listed as day-to-day.
Huddle Up: Hardesty is slowed by a hamstring injury; meanwhile, Dion Lewis has been one of the more impressive players in Cleveland's camp as the Browns look to find a dependable insurance policy and change-of-pace back for Trent Richardson. Hardesty's inability to stay on the field could wind up costing him his job.

Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty could be on the roster bubble during training camp because offensive coordinator Norv Turner likes running backs that are able to catch the ball and Hardesty has been a liability as a receiver.
Huddle Up: It's been a tough go for Hardesty, a 2010 2nd-round pick who missed his rookie season and only has 675 yards from scrimmage, 1 TD and 16 receptions in the 2 seasons since. That uneven track record and the team's coaching change could open the door for the newly acquired Dion Lewis to take over the No. 2 role.
