The San Francisco 49ers are looking to trade QB Colt McCoy. The team likely will release McCoy if they are not able to find a trade partner.
Huddle Up: It looks like either Scott Tolzien or newly signed Seneca Wallace will be Colin Kaepernick's backup as the offseason trade for McCoy, the former Browns starter, just hasn't panned out. There's no real fantasy implications here unless Kaepernick goes down and misses time, and in that case, it'll be time to panic with any of your fantasy 49ers.

San Francisco 49ers QB Colt McCoy (shoulder) was able to return to a full practice Sunday, Aug. 11. He was dealing with a stinger to his right neck and shoulder area. He worked with the No. 2 offense.
Huddle Up: Consider Colin Kaepernick's backup good to go after he returned to practice only 3 days after getting banged up in the team's preseason opener.

San Francisco 49ers QB Colt McCoy (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 8, and did not return.
Huddle Up: McCoy, acquired from the Browns in the offseason, is the backup to Colin Kaepernick, and his injury left journeyman Scott Tolzien to finish Thursday's game.

The San Francisco 49ers have acquired QB Colt McCoy and a sixth-round draft choice from the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round draft choice and seventh-round draft choice. McCoy and Scott Tolzien are expected to compete for the Niners' No. 2 quarterback job next season. The team could also add a rookie to the competition.
Huddle Up: McCoy has enough mobility to run Colin Kaepernick's offense on a short-term basis, but all he really is for San Francisco is low-cost insurance.

The Seattle Seahawks could show interest in Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy as a backup quarterback if he is released this offseason.
Huddle Up: McCoy has been a capable pro and would be decent insurance behind Russell Wilson in Seattle.

Despite earlier reports to the contrary, the Cleveland Browns have no plans to cut QB Colt McCoy. The team may be holding out for a trade, as McCoy has become expendable now that the Browns signed QB Jason Campbell.
Huddle Up: Doesn't sound like McCoy is in the Browns' future plans, so look for Cleveland to try to create a market for him; failing that, they'll likely release McCoy and go with Brandon Weeden and Campbell as their quarterbacks.
