San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) has a 21-day practice/evaluation window during which the team will decide whether to activate him or place him on Reserve/Injured. The same window applies to TE Garrett Celek (back), OT Brandon Thomas (knee) and CB Keith Reaser (knee). Head coach Jim Harbaugh did not indicate either way whether Bowman would practice this week.
Huddle Up: Bowman's knee reportedly is still bothering him, but see if he can get on the practice field this week.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) has a real possibility of missing the entire 2014 season with the torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament suffered last season.
Huddle Up: It's been a tough season for the 49ers and not having one of the NFL's best linebackers is just the latest bad news. Fellow Pro Bowler Patrick Willis was already placed on IR and it appears Bowman could be next.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman is still having pain in his surgically repaired knee, and he's unsure when he'll be cleared to practice.
Huddle Up: The prospects for returning soon don't sound overly promising for the LB who was injured in the NFC Championship Game.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) may be able to participate in practice in the near future, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Huddle Up: Help is definitely on the way for the Niners' D down the stretch as Bowman, Patrick Willis and Aldon Smith should all be back on the field down the home stretch.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) may return later than originally anticipated, according to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Bowman was expected to return Week 6, but Fangio said Bowman 'still has to be out two more games at least, and he'll be out several after that.' Fangio did add that Bowman is doing well in his rehabilitation. Bowman underwent reconstructive knee surgery earlier this year.
Huddle Up: The Niners can't wait for Bowman's return, but Michael Wilhoite has done a creditable job filling in (he's 4th on the team with 20 total tackles), and they've been far from a disaster ranking third against the run with 73.8 yards allowed per game.

San Francisco 49ers LB Michael Wilhoite appears to be the leading candidate to start at middle linebacker while LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) is out of the lineup.
Huddle Up: Wilhoite, undrafted out of Washburn University in 2011, got his start in the United Football League and started 2 games last season -- his third with the Niners. He's been impressive so far this preseason, leading the team with 19 total tackles and a sack.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) and TE Garrett Celek (back) were placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list Monday, Aug. 25.
Huddle Up: As fully expected, the Niners will have to do without their top 2013 tackler for at least 6 games -- and possibly more -- to open the new season.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) will likely return to action in Week 9 after the team's Week 8 bye, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Huddle Up: That's been the most realistic date all along even if it does wipe out half a season for his IDP league owners.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke indicated LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) likely will start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Huddle Up: This isn't a revelation by any means with Bowman's injury occurring in the NFC title game, and it's looking like the Niners' D could be without their leading tackler for the first half of 2014.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) is not expected to be cleared by the start of the 2014 regular season. The team has stated they will take not take any chances with Bowman's recovery.
Huddle Up: Yeah, definitely expect the Niners to play it safe with Bowman, whose 474 total tackles are tops in the league over the last 3 seasons. Also, coach Jim Harbaugh said veteran Ahmad Brooks will not move inside to replace Bowman, so look for the team to turn to a lesser-experienced backup.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) may miss half of the 2014 season, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Bowman tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in the NFC Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks and had surgery Feb. 2. 'Realistically, halfway through the season, something like that would be more realistic. But I never underestimate NaVorro Bowman -- He's a supreme athlete, a world-class athlete among world-class athletes. The way he moves, his strength, his powers of healing.' LB Michael Wilhoite would likely enter the lineup without Bowman.
Huddle Up: Whatever length of time Bowman is out, it'll be a big loss for the Niners as the LB is the league's runaway leader in total tackles (474) over the last 3 season.

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman's (knee) surgery may be delayed 2 to 3 weeks before doctors can repair his anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh said Bowman is facing a 'grueling rehab.' The Niners are hoping he'll be ready for the start of the 2014 season, but there is no way of knowing now.
Huddle Up: IDP league owners obviously will need to follow Bowman's progress over the offseason.

San Francisco LB Navarro Bowman reportedly suffered a torn ACL in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan.19.
Huddle Up: It was doubly tough way to end the season for Bowman, the Pro Bowl inside LB who recorded a career-high 166 total tackles this year. With the injury happening so late, expect Bowman to miss some time early in the 2014 season.
