Seattle Seahawks CB Brandon Browner is facing another suspension for violating league policy, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. This suspension is for violating of the league's substance-abuse policy. Browner also missed the final four games of last season for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. The suspension will end Browner's career with the team, according to a source. His contract expires at season's end.
Huddle Up: The suspensions keep piling up for Seattle DBs as Walter Thurmond and now Browner are facing bans. The Browner news cuts even deeper with the starting CB and the team now expected to part ways, and the team is working out free-agent CBs Marcus Trufant, Antoine Winfield and Perrish Cox. In the meantime, the Seattle D remains strong, but expect some cracks to start showing in one of the league's top secondaries.

CB Brandon Browner and S Earl Thomas had interceptions and the Seattle defense recorded seven sacks -- with 8 different players contributing -- Thursday, Oct. 17 in a 34-22 win over the host Arizona Cardinals.
Huddle Up: It wasn't the 58-0 drubbing of last season, but the Seahawks' D once again came up big against the Cards. The performance could've been a lot better as Browner tripped returning his interception and was touched down at the 1-yard line and, earlier, a Golden Tate punt-return TD was nullified by a penalty.

Seattle Seahawks CB Brandon Browner (hamstring) and DE Cliff Avril (hamstring) will both be game-time decisions in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. Both players will go through workouts before the game Sunday, Sept. 8, to determine if they can play. If Browner doesn't suit up, CBs Walter Thurmond and Byron Maxwell will play cornerback. DE O'Brien Schofield will start if Avril doesn't play.
Huddle Up: Avril has actually been downgraded to doubtful, which will hurt Seattle's pass rush. Most have the Seahawks ranked as the top fantasy defense and Seattle is a very deep team but if both Avril and Browner are out on Sunday, it's cause for concern against Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Seattle Seahawks CB Brandon Browner was added to the 53 man roster Monday, Dec. 31, after serving a four game suspension. Browner is hoping to return to the starting lineup, but head coach Pete Carroll is concerned about rust. 'I talked to him today,' Carroll said. 'He's here, he has worked out real hard and his weight's in shape. He feels fast and all of that, he's going to have fresh legs relative to guys who are 16 games into it. But we've got to see how he does, and fortunately we've got guys who can play. If he's not quite right or if he doesn't get off to a good start during the week, we've got other guys who can play for him. But we're going to give him a heck of a chance to play. We're thrilled to get him back, so we'll see what happens.'
Huddle Up: The suspension situation of their 2 starting CBs played out perfectly for the Seahawks who saw Richard Sherman win his appeal and now have Browner back in time for the postseason.
