Von Miller | LB | Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller said his surgically repaired knee is feeling good and hopes to play better than he did before he suffered his injury. 'I'm a 100 percent positive I'll be able to come back not only be the same Von, (but) I got to be better. You come back and be the same guy it's like you go 'it's the same Von again' and I got to be better,' Miller said.
Huddle Up: Miller, who recorded 30 sacks and forced 9 fumbles in his first 2 seasons, has shed the extra 20 pounds that many feel hampered his play last season, and a healthy return could give the Broncos perhaps the league's best pass-rushing 1-2 punch with the signing of DeMarcus Ware.

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said LB Von Miller grew up a lot this past year while dealing with a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy and then suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in December. 'He's done a tremendous job of doing the right things and everything he's supposed to be doing. So hopefully he can continue to do that, because we'd love Von to be back to the Von we know he can be,' Elway said.
Huddle Up: Miller, who had a combined 32 sacks and 9 forced fumbles over his first 2 seasons, saw those numbers fall to 5 and 3 in 9 games during his truncated 2013 campaign. He's certainly a prime bounce-back candidate, but keep in mind his ACL tear didn't happen until Week 16, and his recovery might hinder his early-season production this coming fall.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee) will undergo surgery to fix the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Wednesday, Jan. 8, and his recovery is expected to take between six and nine months. He has been wearing a brace on his knee for support recently and has been receiving treatment at the team's facility since he suffered the injury. The surgery will be performed by a surgeon in Dr. James Andrews' group. Miller didn't suffer any damage to any other ligament in his knee. He's expected to miss the team's offseason program and likely some of training camp.
Huddle Up: Miller didn't go down until Week 16, and it's far from a stretch to think he won't miss -- or least be limited in -- the first half of the regular season. Definitely keep that in mind when putting together your 2014 IDP draft board.

The Denver Broncos placed LB Von Miller (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 24, and signed free-agent LB Brandon M. Marshall (Jaguars) in a corresponding move.
Huddle Up: Miller's season ends where it began -- with the LB on the shelf. In between, he produced only 5 sacks and 34 total tackles in 9 games.

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee) tore his acute cruciate ligament and is done for the year.
Huddle Up: This is a huge blow for the Denver defense. The Broncos play the Raiders on the road this week, which could turn into a bit of a shootout.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller is back with the team after serving a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He'll practice with the team for the first time Wednesday, Oct. 16, and is expected to make his season debut in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Miller is subject to up to 10 drug tests a month and will remain in Stage 3 of the league's substance-abuse policy for the remainder of his career.
Huddle Up: This should be a big boost to a defense that has been sagging lately. It should also be a big boost to your fantasy team.

Updating an earlier report, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has the authority to suspend Denver Broncos LB Von Miller for violating the personal conduct policy after his recent traffic violations. Multiple sources said they believed Miller had been cited after he had returned from meeting with NFL Players Association officials about his suspension.
Huddle Up: Miller's IDP owners can't be happy about the possibility of a longer league-imposed vacation for him; however, if it means the Broncos have to keep putting up 40-plus points on an every-week basis there are plenty of Peyton Manning owners smiling a little on the inside.

The Denver Broncos will reclaim $1.25 million of signing bonus money from LB Von Miller by withholding the money from his paychecks.
Huddle Up: Looks like Miller will have his wages garnishied. Perhaps it will contribute to a very angry Miller being unleashed on the league in a little over a month.

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos LB Von Miller was suspended six games on Tuesday, Aug. 20 for violating the league's substance-abuse program.
Huddle Up: The league reportedly sought a longer suspension after the LB is said to have failed to comply with a testing proceedure, but Miller and his reps will settle for less than half the season. That still leaves his IDP owners and the Broncos in a big-time bind, though, and both are going to have to find other options for the season's first month and a half. The Broncos' D/ST, which finished third among fantasy units and tied for the league lead with 52 sacks, should definitely be on the move down your draft board.

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos LB Von Miller is likely to receive at least a six-game suspension, as early as Monday, Aug. 19, for violating the league's substance-abuse program. Miller's representatives are negotiating in an attempt to reduce his suspension to four games. Miller is not likely to appeal.
Huddle Up: This sounds like a worst-case scenario for the Broncos, as initial reports indicated Miller was looking at a four-game suspension that could be reduced to two. Now the Broncos may be without Miller for the first six weeks, taking a big bite out of a Denver pass rush that already lost Elvis Dumervil to free agency.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller is headed back to Denver after meeting with the players association regarding his appealed four-game suspension. He is expected to play in the team's second preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: A final decision on the appeal still might not come for a week or 2, but those counting on Miller in IDP leagues are best advised to make other LB lineup plans over the first quarter of the season.

The Denver Broncos are confident that LB Von Miller will not be suspended four games for violating the NFL's drug policy because he did not fail any tests, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Huddle Up: Miller's appeal will be heard before the start of the season, but Denver's optimism is good news for IDPers banking on Miller's sack totals padding their stat lines.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller is expected to have his appeal hearing for his four-game suspension in mid-August. A resolution is expected before the regular season starts.
Huddle Up: Good that the Broncos--and IDP fantasy owners--will know Miller's status before the start of the season; if your draft is slated prior to the mid-August hearing, you'll have some guesswork to do.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller reportedly tested positive for amphetamines and marijuana during his rookie year in 2011, according to an NFL source.
Huddle Up: Not sure if the league is just now getting around to suspending him or if the reported incident landed him in the league's program without a punishment, but it's not looking good for Miller to be on the field when the Broncos kick off the 2013 season.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller is facing a four-game suspension for violating NFL policy. The case is currently in the appeals process.
Huddle Up: The Broncos already lost Elvis Dumervil to free agency this offseason; if they're forced to start the 2013 season without Miller as well, Denver will be without more than half of its sacks from last year.
