Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (illness) returned to practice, Thursday, Nov. 27.
Huddle Up: Sounds like just a one-day bug for Shorts, who should be fine for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (head) suffered a head injury in the Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys in London, but he did not suffered a concussion.
Huddle Up: Shorts is coming off a 100-yard game against Dallas but he remains an inconsistent fantasy play in Jacksonville's offense. Consider him a WR4/5 moving forward.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 7.
Huddle Up: Shorts continues to be plagued by hamstring issues. On the bright side, he practiced and should be available for Sunday's game.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is out of practice Thursday, Nov. 6.
Huddle Up: Shorts has been battling hamstring issues all season. At this point, all his absence would do is increase the likelihood that one of the Allens--Robinson or Hurns--has a solid fantasy outing.

Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) aggravated his left hamstring injury Sunday, Sept. 28. He'll undergo testing Monday, Sept. 29, to determine the severity of the injury.
Huddle Up: Repeat after me: hamstring injuries linger. Shorts tried to come back too soon, aggravated the injury, and now he'll be out for at least a couple more weeks--and who knows how long it will be before he's effective. Jacksonville's rookie receiver corps will pick up the slack in Shorts' absence.

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Allen Hurns (ankle) are both listed as probable for Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. It will be Shorts' season debut after missing the preseason with a right hamstring injury. 'I think that we'll see how he feels but it went pretty good out there,' head coach Gus Bradley said. 'If everything goes good and we get the report (that he hasn't had a setback), then he'll start.'
Huddle Up: The Jags needed this turn of good news with fellow WR Marqise Lee and TE Marcedes Lewis already out for Sunday's game, but neither Shorts or Hurns are worthy of a high fantasy ranking this week given their lingering injury concerns and the overall lack of production for the Jags' offense so far.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 18, for the second straight day.
Huddle Up: With Marqise Lee already ruled out and fellow rookie wideout Allen Hurns banged up, the Jags could certainly use the veteran's return Sunday, but things remain cloudy. Check back Friday and see if Shorts was able to upgrade to full participation.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) will travel with the team for their Week 2 game but is still considered doubtful for the game.
Huddle Up: Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee will be the Jaguars starting receivers against Washington. Hurns is the better bet right now as a WR4/flex play coming off his strong performance in the opener.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) would see only limited repetitions if he does play in Week 2 against the Washington Redskins, according to head coach Gus Bradley. Shorts is listed as doubtful for the game, and he practiced only once this week, getting in limited work on Thursday, Sept. 11.
Huddle Up: With the frustrations continuing for Shorts, it looks as if the Jags will once again look to rookie wideouts Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee, who combined for 19 targets 10 receptions, 172 yards and 2 TDs (both by Hurns) in the opening-week loss to the Eagles.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.
Huddle Up: This is a setback for Shorts, who was at least able to get in some work Wednesday.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Huddle Up: Rookies Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns will get most of the targets this week from Chad Henne, with fellow rookie Allen Robinson and Mike Brown getting sprinkled in as well. Expect the Jaguars to pound the ball at a weak Eagles rush defense unless they fall behind early and are forced to throw.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts III (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is questionable for the team's Week 1 game.
Huddle Up: The preseason hammy issues continue to linger for Shorts, who's likely best left on your bench this Sunday. Meanwhile, keep an eye on rookie Marqise Lee, who has some definite big-game potential if he's the Jags' No. 1 WR.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) couldn't finish practice because of left hamstring tightness Thursday, Sept. 4, according to head coach Gus Bradley. "It was more precautionary on our part," Bradley said. "He just had a little bit of tightness. We were looking at possibly giving him (today) off and we said, 'Let's go out there and see how it feels.' Then we said, 'Let's not do it."
Huddle Up: Not a good sign 3 days away from the opener. Until we get better news, plan on going with another option.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) said he will be ready for the team's season opener.
Huddle Up: Rookie Marqise Lee has come on late in the preseason, but a healthy Shorts brings a veteran presence and consistency to the Jags' WR corps and still projects as the team's No. 1 wideout.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) will be on the field for around 15 offense snaps during the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 22, according to head coach Gus Bradley.
Huddle Up: Despite his injury issues of late, Shorts is still the clear fantasy choice for those looking to secure the Jags' No. 1 WR, and he currently owns a 12th-round ADP (118) in 10-team leagues.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is expected to start in the third preseason game unless he suffers a setback during practice this week, according to head coach Gus Bradley.
Huddle Up: Shorts has missed time this preseason with a hamstring injury, which isn't the way you want to begin a contract year push. He could see time with Blake Bortles, who is expected to work with the first team for at least a quarter in the upcoming preseason game.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and LB Dekoda Watson (groin) are expected to practice on a limited basis Sunday, Aug. 17, and they should both see some repetitions in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions next Friday. Watson will be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list sometime before Sunday.
Huddle Up: Shorts is still being counted on as the Jags' No. 1 WR, and he could certainly use the next few weeks to get into regular-season game form after an injury-filled 2013 season and 2014 camp.

Posted: 8/14/2014 7:08pm et
Jacksonville Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny (biceps), WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring), Allen Robinson (hamstring), Tandon Doss (ankle), Lamaar Thomas (head), CB Deion Belue (back), LB Dekoda Watson (groin) and TE Clay Harbor (calf) did not travel with the team to Chicago and will not play in tonight's preseason game against the Chicago Bears.
Huddle Up: Shorts' follow-up to his injury-hampered 2013 season isn't off to a strong start as the Jags' top wideout has now missed the team's first two preseason tilts and a good deal of camp. Be adjusting your draft board accordingly until we get better news.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) said he is ahead of schedule in his rehab from a hamstring injury but does not have a clear timetable for his return. Shorts said has been able to do some running and is feeling good. He is not expected to play in the second preseason game.
Huddle Up: Shorts has been out for over two weeks with the hamstring injury and it's something that could linger into the season. Shorts currently has an ADP of Round 11 but rookie Marquise Lee is probably a better bet to be Jacksonville's top fantasy WR this year. Lee has an ADP of Round 14.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) needs work before the start of the season, according to receivers coach Jerry Sullivan. 'I don't care if you play 10 years, you still need work,' Sullivan said. 'I don't care who you are or how long you've played. Because you've been there, it helps you, but it's not the same.'
Huddle Up: Shorts was in and out of the lineup last season, playing with varying effectiveness, and given the off-field issues and inexperience of the remainder of the Jags' WR corps, Shorts has the opportunity to establish himself as the Jags' unquestioned top target and a late-round fantasy sleeper if he can get back on the field and stay healthy.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts has plenty of company, but general manager Dave Caldwell indicated Shorts is a big part of the plan going forward. The team drafted WRs Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, but Caldwell said it 'was to compliment Cecil, not replace him.'
Huddle Up: A little Shorts news if you own him in a dynasty league. Shorts is in the final season of his contract, but it sounds like the Jaguars view him as part of the solution once Blake Bortles is at quarterback. The question, of course, is are they holding a spot for Justin Blackmon as well?

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts could get a contract extension before the beginning of the season, although it is probably more reasonable to think Shorts could agree to a new deal in the first part of the season.
Huddle Up: Injuries limited Shorts to 11.8 yards per catch and only 3 scoring receptions last season, and expect the Jags to wait and confirm that's all in the rear-view mirror before committing to an extension.

Posted: 5/14/2014 12:01am et
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said the team wants to keep WR Cecil Shorts long term, and have had discussions about a new deal.
Huddle Up: While the J'ville future of troubled fellow wideout Justin Blackmon is anything but certain, there are no such concerns about Shorts, whose focus this offseason is getting healthy after groin and shoulder injuries limited him to 13 games and a career-low 11.8 yards-per-catch average.

Posted: 4/24/2014 7:32pm et
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (groin) is still not quite a full strength, but said he expects to be soon. 'I'm on the right path where I'm able to run without any pain,' Shorts said. 'I still have some work to do and I'm not 100 percent yet, but I'm looking to get there soon. Now, I have to get my strength back and confidence back." Head coach Gus Bradley said Shorts' rehab has gone well, and the receiver is leaner and in great shape.
Huddle Up: Despite missing the final 3 games of the year, Shorts had a career-high 66 receptions this past season but wasn't nearly as explosive, seeing his yards-per-catch average drop a full 6 yards from 17.8 to 11.8. At this moment -- and with Justin Blackmon's issues -- Shorts is in line to the be the Jags' No. 1 WR if healthy, but that could change with the upcoming draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars may wait to sign WR Cecil Shorts to a contract extension to see if he will be able to stay healthy for an entire season. Shorts has missed 11 games in his first three seasons. Shorts is entering the final year of his current contract.
Huddle Up: The risk, of course, is that Shorts does stay healthy and puts up big numbers that drive up his value heading into free agency. And Shorts' ability to do that depends on who plays quarterback for the Jaguars this season.
