The New England Patriots have expressed interest in re-signing free-agent WR Donte' Stallworth but no deal is imminent at this point.
Huddle Up: It sounds as if the Pats are preparing to cover their bases with top WR Wes Welker possibly leaving via free agency.

New England Patriots WR Donte' Stallworth (ankle) was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 11, due to an ankle injury suffered in the Week 14 game against the Houston Texans. He made his season debut Monday, Dec. 10, and his only catch went for a 63-yard touchdown.
Huddle Up: Talk about a 1-and-done season ... hopefully the fantasy owners desperate enough to start Stallworth were able to capitalize on his one shining moment.

The New England Patriots on Monday re-signed WR Donte' Stallworth, whom they had waived late in training camp.
Huddle Up: The team is in need of WRs after Julian Edelman suffered a foot injury in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Dolphins. It's the Pats, and the exact nature of the injury is unknown, but Edelman was seen after the game on crutches and in a walking boot. Stallworth's last regular-season action with the Pats came in 2007.

The New England Patriots have released WR Donte' Stallworth, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Stallworth was squeezed by the Patriots' use of the tight ends and signing of Brandon Lloyd. He wasn't going to be a fantasy factor anyway.
