Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess (hamstring) is working out on the field before the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 28, but he will not be playing in the game.
Huddle Up: It's concerning that Funchess won't be able to play in Carolina's dress rehearsal with Kelvin Benjamin out for the year. Funchess has now been dealing with his hamstring injury for two weeks. Funchess has lost valuable reps but he clearly isn't healthy right now. His current ADP is Round 8.

Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (leg) is expected to miss eight or more weeks due to a fractured fibula just above his left ankle.
Huddle Up: That's roughly half the season for the Steelers to be without the anchor of their offensive line. While Le'Veon Bell and Ben Roethlisberger won't plummet in the fantasy rankings, Pouncey's absence will certainly have an impact.

Posted: 8/24/2015 9:55am et
Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham had four catches on four targets for 40 yards in a preseason game against the St. Louis Rams Sunday, Aug. 23.
Huddle Up: DGB continues to impress in Tennessee and may wind up being Marcus Mariota's favorite downfield target sooner rather than later. If the light switches on for Green-Beckham he has all the tools to give the Titans the big play receiver they've been looking for.

Posted: 8/24/2015 9:55am et
Tennessee Titans RB David Cobb saw some work with the first-team offense in a preseason game against the St. Louis Rams Sunday, Aug. 23, finishing with 26 yards on eight carries.
Huddle Up: Not a particularly impressive YAC, but the fact that Cobb is seeing time with the starters suggests he'll have a role in Tennessee's backfield committee.

Posted: 8/22/2015 6:30pm et
Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (finger) was ruled out for the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: Yeldon is practicing on a limited basis but he's missed the Jaguars' first two preseason games. Jacksonville is being cautious with Yeldon, although he should make his debut next week.

Posted: 8/22/2015 12:30pm et
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring) is participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: Johnson has missed an opportunity to impress in the first two preseason games because of his hamstring injury. He still has time to emerge as the Browns' pass-catching back but Johnson isn't likely to have much fantasy value early in the season.

Posted: 8/22/2015 12:30pm et
Baltimore Ravens TE Maxx Williams has made far fewer plays in the passing game than TE Nick Boyle during training camp.
Huddle Up: Rookie tight ends historically struggle in their first season, so this comes as no surprise. Williams is physically gifted but shouldn't be given fantasy consideration until 2016.

Posted: 8/19/2015 10:30pm et
San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) might miss the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22, against the Arizona Cardinals due to a minor ankle injury, a source said Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Huddle Up: It hasn't been a great preseason for Gordon so far. He struggled against the Cowboys and now he's dealing with a minor ankle injury. Still, the rookie is set to handle a large workload once the season starts, so it's not time to panic.

Posted: 8/19/2015 10:30pm et
New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Coleman was cited as the player who has impressed the most during training camp, head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Huddle Up: Coleman has been drawing positive reviews all summer. He's battling to become the Saints' No. 3 receiver behind Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston. Coleman doesn't have any fantasy value now but he's a player to monitor.

Posted: 8/19/2015 9:55am et
Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list but is not practicing Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Huddle Up: Good that Parker is off the PUP, not good that he has yet to rejoin his teammates. He's missed out on valuable reps with Ryan Tannehill and the Miami offense, so once he does return to practice he'll have some catching up to do to make a fantasy impact.

Posted: 8/17/2015 9:53am et
Oakland Raiders TE Clive Walford had two catches for 28 yards, including a 22-yard reception, in a preseason game against the St. Louis Rams Friday, Aug. 14.
Huddle Up: The Raiders are extremely high on Walford and his potential contributions to their new-look offense, and he certainly did not disappoint in the preseason opener. A word of caution, though, regarding rookie tight ends: they rarely deliver consistent fantasy assistance in their first NFL season. Best treat Walford as a backup with considerable upside.

Posted: 8/15/2015 2:44pm et
Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon will be eased into a bigger workload this season. Jacksonville is expected to divide carries among the running backs and then gradually increase Yeldon's carries.
Huddle Up: A lot of people are excited about Yeldon but he hasn't been handed the feature back role yet. Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart could both be in the mix for carries early in the year. However, Yeldon should separate himself from the pack after the first couple of games.

Posted: 8/15/2015 1:07pm et
Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (hamstring) is expected to miss at least one more week because of his hamstring injury.
Huddle Up: Johnson has been bothered by a hamstring since the start of training camp and with the Cardinals expected to sign Chris Johnson, the rookie is falling out of fantasy relevance in re-draft leagues. He'll need to get back on the field soon in order to make an impact early in the season.

Posted: 8/15/2015 1:07pm et
Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (shin) will undergo surgery to repair his shin injury and will miss at least the first six games of the regular season. General manager Ryan Pace said there is a chance White will miss the entire 2015 season.
Huddle Up: It's terrible news for White, who was expected to make a big impact as a rookie. His injury opens the door for Eddie Royal to make a big contribution in Chicago's passing game. Royal has already been receiving glowing reports in training camp and with this news his Round 12 ADP will be shooting up.

Posted: 8/14/2015 9:35pm et
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota threw an interception and lost a fumble on his first two drives in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons Friday, Aug. 14. He finished 7-of-8 for 94 yards and did not run the ball.
Huddle Up: A lot was made of Mariota going all training camp without throwing an interception but that probably says more about Tennessee's Swiss cheese defense. Mariota struggled early but did rebound to lead the offense on a nice scoring drive before leaving the game. Mariota will have better days ahead but the fact is Tennessee lacks playmakers on its offense. That's something Mariota will have to overcome almost every week as a rookie.

Posted: 8/10/2015 2:59pm et
Cleveland Browns OT Joe Thomas (knee) suffered a knee injury during practice Monday, Aug. 10, but head coach Mike Pettine does not believe the injury is serious.
Huddle Up: Thomas has never missed a game in his NFL career and this injury appears to be minor. Thomas is the anchor of the Browns' rushing attack.

Posted: 8/8/2015 10:36am et
Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) said he is not sure if he will be able to play in any of the preseason games because of his foot injury. Parker said he does not know if he will be allowed to play in Week 1 if he misses the entire preseason.
Huddle Up: Parker is hoping to play in Week 1 against the Redskins. If he's healthy, expect him to see some snaps but not enough to make him a viable fantasy option.

Posted: 8/7/2015 7:07pm et
Indianapolis Colts WR Duron Carter caught four touchdowns during practice Friday, Aug. 7.
Huddle Up: Carter has loads of physical ability and upside but he's limited right now because of all the options in the Colts' offense. He's a great hold in dynasty leagues but Carter won't have much re-draft value this season unless the Colts suffer a couple of injuries to the receiver position.

Posted: 8/7/2015 9:39am et
Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper was praised by offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave for his hard work in drills and attention in meetings. 'I know we have a good one there, so we're thankful to have him,' Musgrave said Thursday, Aug. 6.
Huddle Up: Cooper has been every bit as good as advertised thus far in Oakland. If any rookie receiver is to live up to the legacy of last year's class, to certainly looks as if Cooper is the one.

Posted: 8/5/2015 9:30pm et
Indianapolis Colts WR Phillip Dorsett is believed my many in Colts' training camp to have a skill set that is essentially a carbon copy of Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson's, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Huddle Up: Dorsett has an ADP of Round 14 because there's a belief there won't be enough targets to go around in the Colts' offense. However, Indianapolis didn't burn a first-round draft pick on the explosive receiver to have him sit on the bench. Expect to see a lot of Dorsett in his rookie season. He offers serious value later in your fantasy draft.

Posted: 8/5/2015 10:22am et
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring) remains out of practice Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Huddle Up: It will be difficult for Johnson to earn touches in the Browns backfield if he remains sidelined. At present Isaiah Crowell is the front-runner for carries in Cleveland.

Posted: 8/5/2015 10:22am et
Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman (knee) remains out of practice Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Huddle Up: The WR2 spot in Baltimore is wide open, but between his training camp drops and missing time with a bum knee Perriman is failing to capitalize on the opportunity.

Posted: 8/5/2015 10:22am et
Tennessee Titans RB David Cobb (quadriceps) was slowed during the offseason by a quadriceps injury, but he is back and showing off his physicality in training camp. He was active for the second straight day Tuesday, Aug. 4, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt has been impressed with the rookie.
Huddle Up: Cobb might be playing catch-up due to time missed during OTAs, but he should be able to force himself into the mix of what is shaping up to be a crowded backfield in Tennessee.

Posted: 8/4/2015 9:16am et
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota went his fourth consecutive practice Sunday, Aug. 3, without throwing an interception. Unofficially, Mariota is 49-for-73 (67.0%) in seven-on-seven and team drills after four days. He missed a couple of throws in red zone drills, but he bounced back to go 3-for-3 in another red zone session.
Huddle Up: Accuracy wasn't the biggest concern regarding Mariota as he transitions from college to the pros, but the fact that he's demonstrating accuracy will certainly make that adjustment go more smoothly.

Posted: 8/3/2015 3:29pm et
Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (shin) is still on the Physically Unable to Perform list and there is no timetable for his return, according to head coach John Fox. Fox said he considers White day-to-day at this time.
Huddle Up: White is getting better but remains on the PUP list. He's losing valuable practice time and will have to battle Alshon Jeffery, Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett for reps, not to mention newly signed Eddie Royal. The rookie's value in re-draft leagues is taking a nosedive.

Posted: 8/1/2015 8:07pm et
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring) hurt his hamstring in practice Saturday, Aug. 1. He was evaluated afterwards and the injury is not serious.
Huddle Up: Johnson will likely miss a few days of practice to rest his hamstring. Johnson is expected to see work as the passing down back in the already muddled Browns' backfield.

Posted: 8/1/2015 8:07pm et
Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman received first-team repetitions in practice Saturday, Aug. 1.
Huddle Up: Devonta Freeman ran with the first-team on Friday, so Coleman got his chance on Saturday. The two will both get opportunities throughout training camp and the preseason to work with the starters. Freeman and Coleman will each have roles in the Falcons' offense this season regardless of which one emerges as the starter.

Posted: 7/27/2015 3:22pm et
Carolina Panthers OT Jonathan Martin (back) has chosen to retire. Martin will need surgery on his injured back.
Huddle Up: Martin is only 25. Martin was the 42nd overall pick by the Dolphins in 2012 but struggled in the NFL. Still, the loss of Martin leaves Carolina thin at the tackle position heading into the season.

Posted: 7/27/2015 3:22pm et
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson has the ability to step in and perform at a high level right away, according to head coach Mike Pettine.
Huddle Up: Johnson enters a crowded backfield in Cleveland but should carve out a role as a pass-catching back early in the year. He has some upside but the Browns' backfield is a fantasy mess right now with Isaiah Crowell likely opening the year as the starter.

Posted: 7/25/2015 10:00pm et
Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) will not be ready for the start of training camp and could be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Head coach Joe Philbin believes Parker will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Huddle Up: Parker missed time during his final collegiate season due to a foot injury, but the Dolphins remain optimistic he'll be good to go for the opener. However, with Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings on the roster Parker will be battling for snaps once he returns.

Posted: 7/21/2015 8:08pm et
Tennessee Titans rookie QB Marcus Mariota agreed to terms on his rookie contract Tuesday, July 21. Terms were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: All 32 first-round picks are now signed, and now Mariota -- the second overall pick -- will have the vital benefit of a full training camp in his quest to win the Titans' starting gig.

Posted: 7/15/2015 8:36pm et
Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman has started he plans on being the starter, and he will be in a position battle with RB Devonta Freeman for the starting job in training camp and beyond. Both appear to be schematic fits, and both have the potential to be effective in the NFL.
Huddle Up: Atlanta is switching offensive schemes so Coleman isn't necessarily lagging behind when it comes to knowing the system. If he's able to handle details like pass protection he has all the tools to push aside Freeman and take over as the Falcons' feature back.

Posted: 7/12/2015 10:40am et
Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) remains on track to be ready for Week 1 and 'everything is perfect' in his recovery from foot surgery, according to Parker's agent James Gould. Gould noted it is still too early to know if Parker will be available for preseason games.
Huddle Up: It would be nice, but not necessary, for the rookie receiver to get some preseason reps with his offense if the plan is for him to make an immediate impact. For the moment, though, the foot issue will keep a lid on his draft day value.

Posted: 7/12/2015 10:40am et
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie WR Kenny Bell is expected to eventually win the starting slot receiver job. Bell will primarily be competing with Louis Murphy for playing time in the slot.
Huddle Up: Murphy was solid last season, so "eventually" doesn't necessarily mean "this year". Plus, with Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson outside, Austin Seferian-Jenkins at tight end and a rookie quarterback pulling it all together the WR3 role in Tampa isn't the most lucrative fantasy opportunity this season.

Posted: 7/6/2015 3:25pm et
Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman said he hopes to win a starting job during training camp and wants to make an immediate impact as a deep threat. Perriman said he has been working on improving his route running leading up to training camp.
Huddle Up: The real issue with Perriman is how well (and consistently) he catches the ball. If he's able to do so he'll be a real threat opposite Steve Smith; if not, he'll be heading down the same road traveled by Troy Williamson and Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Posted: 6/28/2015 1:49am et
Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah said he could be a three-down back if needed. 'That's what I've done my whole life,' Abdullah said. 'I haven't done anything else, so I don't see why I wouldn't be confident in my game. I know my teammates trust me in such a short time to do so. I trust myself.'
Huddle Up: With Joique Bell coming off multiple offseason surgeries, Abdullah could very well be asked to be a three-down back for the Lions. He's certainly in position to outperform expectations, both fantasy and otherwise.

Posted: 6/20/2015 9:47am et
St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley's (knee) timetable is still up in the air as he continues to rehabilitate from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. Fisher said Gurley has been doing well but could start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list if necessary. Fisher added that if Gurley does not go on the PUP list, he could play sooner than people think.
Huddle Up: Thank you for that Patriot-like injury update, Coach. So apparently Gurley is somewhere between the PUP list (which, if he starts the regular season on the PUP list, means he'll miss a healthy chunk of his rookie campaign) and the vague "sooner than people think". At this point you need to look at Gurley as a dynasty investment with tremendous upside, because you simply can't bank on anything from him this season.

Posted: 6/17/2015 2:11pm et
Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) won't practice again until training camp opens in July. Beckham was limited to straight-line running Tuesday, June 16, but he's done for organized team activities.
Huddle Up: Remember that Beckham's rookie season started late due to hamstring issues and he still cobbled together a pretty nice campaign. So no reason to hit the panic button on his availability just yet.

Posted: 6/17/2015 2:11pm et
Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Conley has been receiving a lot of snaps with the starting offense, with satisfactory results. Conley also started with the first-team offense recently when WR Jeremy Maclin (foot) sat out with a sore foot.
Huddle Up: The Chiefs' cupboard was bare at the receiver position, so it's not at all surprising to see Conley get some run with the starters. He may even work his way into position for a share of all those wide receiver touchdowns the Chiefs score. Oh, wait...

Posted: 6/13/2015 1:50pm et
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson has been performing well this offseason, showcasing his explosiveness and versatility. Johnson will compete with RBs Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West for the starting running back position. Johnson will not be an every-down back this season but will be moved around on offense so he can create matchup problems for the defense.
Huddle Up: Sounds like another committee in Cleveland, though Johnson may be the back to have especially in performance scoring systems. Crowell and West can battle for the goal line work, which has obvious value in TD-heavy scoring systems.

Posted: 6/13/2015 1:50pm et
Free-agent OG Evan Mathis (Eagles) has received interest from at least six teams since he was released but may not make a quick decision on his next team, according to his agent.
Huddle Up: Mathis was not a fit with Chip Kelly, but the two-time Pro Bowl guard still has something left in the tank and should be able to find work sooner rather than later.

Posted: 5/27/2015 11:27pm et
Miami Dolphins rookie WR DeVante Parker has already gained the attention of QB Ryan Tannehill. 'He's a good player. You can see his athleticism, his natural ability, already,' Tannehill said. 'He made a bunch of good catches [Tuesday] -- catches where he's using his body, keeping the defender off of him. He catches the ball with his hands.'
Huddle Up: There's no reason to think Parker won't be a Week One starter for the Dolphins, and the fact that he's already impressing his quarterback only helps his fantasy prospects.

Posted: 5/27/2015 11:22pm et
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota has impressed teammates with his speed in their opening day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 26. Titans LB Zach Brown, who is known for his speed, was particularly impressed. 'One time he took off-–I was guarding Delanie (Walker)-–and I turned around and I was like, 'Where is he?' He is fast. He impressed me. He is still a rookie and he has to learn, but he is a cool guy. I haven't seen him get frustrated yet,' Brown said.
Huddle Up: It shouldn't come as a surprise that Mariota is fleet afoot. Where he'll need to demonstrate that he can handle the transition from college to the NFL is in throwing the football and reading defenses. When he's impressing his defensive teammates with those skills, then it will be time to get giddy over Mariota's pro prospects.

Posted: 5/27/2015 11:22pm et
Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham (hamstring) had to leave organized team activities early Tuesday, May 26, after he aggravated a hamstring injury. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he does not think the injury is serious, but Green-Beckham could sit out a week.
Huddle Up: Not good news for DGB, who hasn't played in a football game for more than a year after off-the-field issues prematurely ended his career at Missouri and he subsequently transferred to Oklahoma. More reps with his new team and new quarterback would be a boon in getting him on the field earlier in his NFL career.

Posted: 5/19/2015 1:29am et
Tennessee Titans RB David Cobb has been asked by the team to drop some weight but was nor given a specific number. Cobb said he weighs 232 pounds but wants to be around 225 pounds.
Huddle Up: Not sure if Cobb looks slow at minicamp or if the team just prefers he play at a lighter weight, but most of the redraft analysis referenced him getting quicker so it makes sense the Titans equate that with less weight. Cobb weighed 229 at the Combine, so it shouldn't be difficult for him to get down to his personal goal. He's in line to see plenty of carries in Tennessee, especially if he can keep his new employers happy by following their directive.

Posted: 5/19/2015 1:29am et
New York Jets WR Devin Smith may not be a candidate for the kick or punt returner job this season since he does not have much experience in the role, according to special teams coach Bobby April.
Huddle Up: It's easy to see how Smith's blazing speed would translate to the return game, but it's a skill he has yet to acquire so it may not be where he makes his first NFL splash. In other words, don't bank on extra points in the return game if your fantasy league's scoring system rewards such stats.

Posted: 5/19/2015 1:29am et
New England Patriots WR Devin Gardner was waived Monday, May 18.
Huddle Up: An undrafted free agent, Gardner is looking to make the transition from college quarterback to NFL wideout, but apparently he won't be doing so in New England.

Posted: 5/17/2015 12:16am et
Arizona Cardinals rookie RB David Johnson was recently lauded by head coach Bruce Arians. '[He's] very, very bright. The kid can do anything as far as a wide receiver, running back, full back,' Arians said. 'He will find a niche quick because he can learn so much.'

Posted: 5/15/2015 7:28pm et
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Sammie Coates signed a four-year deal with the team Friday, May 15. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Coates was a three-year starter at Auburn but he's one of the few highly drafted rookie receivers that might struggle to find consistent playing time with Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton already topping the the Pittsburgh WR depth chart.

Posted: 5/13/2015 5:40pm et
Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Conley signed his rookie four-year deal Wednesday, May 13.
Huddle Up: Conley should be in the mix to score the Chiefs' first WR TD since 2013.
