Ryan Grant | RB | Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers likely will not be interested in re-signing impending free-agent RB Ryan Grant this offseason.
Huddle Up: The Packers already kicked Grant to the curb once and this time around opted to give touches to DuJuan Harris instead, so it's no surprise they would prefer to start their search for backfield help elsewhere.

Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant had to accept a split contract Wednesday, Dec. 5, in his return to the team. His minimum base of $700,000 reduces to $368,000 if lands on Injured Reserve.
Huddle Up: Grant, who has only 1 carry for 5 yards this season in a brief stint with the Redskins, figures to see only a handful of carries over the next few weeks in back of Alex Green, but he could soon earn a healthy split of the backfield chores once he gets back into the flow of the offense.

The Green Bay Packers agreed to terms with free-agent RB Ryan Grant Wednesday, Dec. 5. Grant should be practicing with the team later in the day. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Grant knows the system and can make a seamless transition into a backup role behind Alex Green. It's not as if the Packers run the ball much anyway.

The Washington Redskins signed free-agent RB Keiland Williams (Lions) Tuesday, Oct. 23, and released RB Ryan Grant in a corresponding move. Grant had only one carry for five yards. Williams could challenge RB Evan Royster as the team's third-down back.
Huddle Up: Williams is back in D.C., but don't expect much action as no one aside from starter Alfred Morris and QB RGIII has more than 8 rushing attempts on the season. Royster leads all Redskins RBs with 10 catches for 49 yards.

Washington Redskins RB Ryan Grant, who signed a free-agent deal with the team Tuesday, will add depth to the running back corps with RBs Evan Royster (knee, toe) and Roy Helu Jr. (toe) dealing with injuries. Royster is day-to-day with a strained patella tendon in his right knee, and he also aggravated a pre-existing turf toe injury. Helu is dealing with turf toe and had been limited with an injured Achilles' tendon in the preseason. Royster was limping around Monday, Sept. 24. Helu was wearing a walking boot following the team's Week 3 game, but he's listed as day-to-day, too.
Huddle Up: Grant, who also worked out for the Bears on Tuesday, gained 559 yards in 15 games last season in a Packers' timeshare with James Starks. Rookie Alfred Morris is the starter and Helu and Royster, although banged up at the moment, still are very much in the mix, but don't write off Grant simply due to his low depth chart status. After all, mercurial Mike Shanahan still is the Skins' coach the last time we checked.
