Tennessee Titans QB Charlie Whitehurst will start in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed Wednesday, Dec. 24.
Huddle Up: Whitehurst will make a third straight start but it's not going to matter much either way to TE Delanie Walker -- the only Titans the majority of fantasy owners should be using in Week 17.

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (hand) is expected to be back in Week 8. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Sunday, Oct. 19, that Locker's hand was still sore this week. QB Charlie Whitehurst started in his absence in Week 7 against the Washington Redskins.
Huddle Up: Whitehurst hasn't been particularly impressive in Locker's absence. The next time Locker goes down, don't be surprised if Zach Mettenberger gets the call instead. In fact, with Locker's contract expiring at the end of the season it would behoove the Titans to get a look at Mettenberger to determine if he's their future at the position.

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (thumb) is not expected to play in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he's officially listed as questionable on the injury report. He made some soft tosses Friday, but was listed as a non-participant in practice. QB Charlie Whitehurst is expected to make his second start of the year.
Huddle Up: Whitehurst, who started the team's Week 4 loss at Indy, is 25-of-44 for 371 yards, 3 TDs and interception and rushed for 39 yards on seven carries in two games this season so he doesn't represent a huge drop-off by any means. Locker, meanwhile, continues to be dogged by major health question marks as he's headed for his 16th missed start since the beginning of the 2012 season.

Tennessee Titans QB Charlie Whitehurst could start in Week 4 if QB Jake Locker (wrist) is not able to play, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he believes Whitehurst can play well. 'I've been through eight preseason games with him, so I feel like I've seen him play in a game. I've seen him go in and perform well, so I don't really have a question as far as what it would be like Sunday with Charlie.'
Huddle Up: First off, this doesn't sound good for Locker's chances of playing Sunday, but see what he can do Friday. In any case, it's a plus matchup with the opposing Colts giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs, but Whitehurst still hasn't started or thrown a pass in an actual regular-season game since 2011 so there would be more than a little fantasy uncertainty with the Tennessee passing game if the backup is called into action.

The Tennessee Titans are confident having QB Charlie Whitehurst run the offense during minicamp with QB Jake Locker (foot) looking on as a spectator.
Huddle Up: The Titans must be confident in Whitehurst who's backing up a QB (Locker) who has missed 14 starts over the past 2 seasons. After all, it may wind up being a lot more than a minicamp offense Whitehurst will have to run in 2014.
