The Philadelphia Eagles signed QB Dennis Dixon (Ravens) to a two-year contract Thursday, Feb. 14. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: The Ravens were interested in bringing Dixon back, but the QB will definitely have a better shot at playing in Philly rather than sitting behind reigning Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco.

Updating a previous report, the Philadelphia Eagles are not allowed to sign Baltimore Ravens practice squad QB Dennis Dixon until Monday, Feb. 11, because the Ravens have exclusive rights to Dixon this week.
Huddle Up: With all the interest surrounding Dixon, maybe the Ravens come hard with an offer? Should be an interesting week for Dixon and his agent.

Updating a previous item, the Philadelphia Eagles are in contract talks with Baltimore Ravens practice squad QB Dennis Dixon, according to league sources. Dixon is familiar with head coach Chip Kelly's offense, having played for him in college. Per league rules pertaining to practice squad players, Dixon became a free agent immediately after Super Bowl XLVII and can sign a futures contract for 2013 with any team even though free agency doesn't begin until March.
Huddle Up: Dixon's familiarity with Kelly's offense will make him a valuable contributor during minicamps and training camp as the Eagles adjust to the change; he could even contend for the starting gig if Philly opts to part with Michael Vick and/or Nick Foles.

The Philadelphia Eagles are likely to pursue Baltimore Ravens practice-squad QB Dennis Dixon. Dixon played for Eagles head coach Chip Kelly at Oregon, and has more experience running his offense than any other NFL QB.
Huddle Up: It would be a logical fit and great opportunity for Dixon, a career NFL backup who's only played in 4 games with 3 starts in 5 pro seasons. Add him to your sleeper list ASAP.

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to pursue Baltimore Ravens practice squad QB Dennis Dixon after the Super Bowl. Dixon played for head coach Chip Kelly when he coached the University of Oregon.
Huddle Up: There is certainly logic to this speculation given the relationship between Dixon and Kelly from their Duck days. However, Kelly isn't necessarily trying to replicate the Oregon offense in Philly; moreover, the Eagles still have Nick Foles and Michael Vick at the position.

Baltimore Ravens LB Terrell Suggs said practice-squad QB Dennis Dixon has been playing the role of San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick during practice.
Huddle Up: Hopw fortunate are the Ravens to have Dixon, who certainly fills the bill as far as Kaepernick actors go? That and the extra week of work should have the Ravens ready to at least slow the Niners' young and dangerous QB.
