Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon said his foot is improving, but he's still not 100 percent 5 weeks from OTAs.
Huddle Up: RGIII isn't the only key D.C. offensive player on the mend as the Skins are hoping to have a healthy Garcon on the field after he led them with 633 receiving yards while playing hurt a season ago.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon will not require surgery to repair a plantar plate in his right foot, barring a setback, according to a league source. The second toe on Garcon's right foot is healing, and more rest is the prescription, according to the source.
Huddle Up: Garcon missed 6 games this past season but led the Skins in receiving yards (633) and finished second in receptions (44) and scoring catches (4). If both are healthy in 2013, Garcon and QB Robert Griffin III will combine for some big numbers.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon is still debating whether to have surgery on his foot, but is leaning towards resting the foot. Garcon should make a final decision in the coming weeks. Garcon does not like the idea of having a surgery that would require 3-to-4 months to heal, but offer no guarantees of correcting the issue.
Huddle Up: We don't pretend to be doctors and this isn't even WebMD, but it pretty much would seem to reason that Garcon should get the surgery over and done with so he can enter training camp with a healthier foot and a concern-free frame of mind.
Posted: 1/7/2013 1:25pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon said he doesn't think his ailing foot will require surgery; however, doctors will decide ultimately. Garcon also said his injured shoulder is fine.
Huddle Up: Garçon played most of the year with the foot injury; the shoulder injury is more recent. Either way, Garçon will have the entire offseason to heal up; now the question is, will his quarterback be healthy enough to throw to him?

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon has been the team's leading target receiver, despite which quarterback was in the game. QB Kirk Cousins targeted Garcon 12 times in Week 15, while WR Santana Moss had six targets.
Huddle Up: There was concern as to how Garcon's targets might be affected with Cousins at the helm, but he was still the Redskins' go-to receiver. So regardless of whether or not Robert Griffin III returns to action this week, Garcon will get his looks.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Huddle Up: With his injury issues seemingly behind him, Garcon is encroaching into must-start territory with 17 grabs for 279 yards and 3 TDs over the past 3 games.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 5.
Huddle Up: So far, so good with Garcon and his foot ligament issue, which still could flare up at any time. In the meantime, ride the WR while he's hot as Garcon has 12 catches for 192 yards and a pair of TDs over the past 2 games.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon caught a game-high 8 passes for 106 yards and a TD Monday night in a 17-16 Week 13 win over the New York Giants.
Huddle Up: Garcon's stats have gotten better in each of his 3 games since returning from a 4-game injury absence (foot ligament) in Week 11. On Monday, he accounted for 11 of RGIII's 21 targets and 8 of the QB's 13 completions. He's clearly the No. 1 pass-catching option for one of fantasy's top QBs, making him a must-start in the postseason.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was able to practice fully Saturday, Dec. 1, and he is officially listed as probable for the Week 13 game against the New York Giants Monday, Dec. 3.
Huddle Up: Garcon and his fantasy owners are hoping he can pick up where he left off on Thanksgiving with 86 yards and a TD on 4 receptions.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (toe) is optimistic that his injury won't be a factor for the rest of the season. 'I think I'm going to make it through the whole season. I've been dealing with the pain for so long, it's only getting numb, used to it,' Garcon said.
Huddle Up: Garcon has been huge in games where he has been fully healthy, and he had no setbacks after turning on the afterburners in last week's victory against the Cowboys. This is good news for owners who stuck with him through thin and thinner this season.
Posted: 11/23/2012 7:44pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (toe) 'suffered no setbacks' in his big day in Week 12 Thursday, Nov. 22. An anonymous person said Garcon's foot feels 'just as it did the beginning of the week.' Garcon caught five passes for 93 yards and a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He said after the game he was still in pain but wore a right shoe that had additional padding that alleviated stress in his foot.
Huddle Up: Garcon definitely more than fine Thursday, especially on his highlight-reel 59-yard catch and dash in the second quarter. With the way RGIII is playing, Garcon definitely is a strong fantasy starting option in the coming weeks.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon caught a team-high 5 passes for 93 yards and a TD Thursday in a 38-31 Week 12 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Huddle Up: For a player whose status was iffy all week due to his lingering foot issues, Garcon came through with flying fantasy colors Thursday, highlighted by his 59-yard catch and TD dash in the second quarter.
Posted: 11/20/2012 6:14pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan did not sound optimistic about WR Pierre Garcon (foot) playing in Week 12. 'Natural grass is much softer,' Shanahan said. 'It's a big difference. He has a hard time even in our facility and we've got the best turf there is.'
Huddle Up: Congratulations if you've held out on Garcon thus far, but it doesn't seem like he will be much help this season. The Redskins might shut him down if this persists much longer.
Posted: 11/16/2012 12:19pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon is expected to play in Week 11.
Huddle Up: Garçon has been limited by a foot injury since the first quarter of the first game. Tough to trust him with a fantasy start until we know he can stand up to a full game of usage.
Posted: 11/14/2012 7:12pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was making cuts in practice while running routes Wednesday, Nov. 14. He has a chance to play in Week 11.
Huddle Up: Garcon's status still remains very much in question, but this is a ray of light amid all the dim reports over the past 2 months.
Posted: 11/12/2012 7:37pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) does not want to have surgery on his injured foot. 'I really don't want to get surgery,' Garcon said. 'That's where I stand on that.' Garcon was limited in the team's practice Monday.
Huddle Up: Pardon the pun, but it sounds as if Garcon is dragging his foot and simply avoiding the inevitable here.
Posted: 11/6/2012 11:40pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (toe) admitted Tuesday, Nov. 6, that surgery might be an option if his sprained right foot doesn't improve. He said he will keep trying to test it after the bye week. 'There's no real update or miracle that happened overnight,' Garcon said. 'We're going to try to go after the bye, see how it feels. But we're still trying to get as much pain out of it as we can.'
Huddle Up: Time is running rather short for Garcon, who hasn't caught a pass since Week 5. If the foot still is a problem late next week, expect the Skins to shut Garcon down for the remainder of the season.
Posted: 11/1/2012 12:09pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garçon did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Huddle Up: No shock here, as Garçon's foot injury has kept him on the sidelines much of the season. No reason to expect him back on the field--and, more importantly, in a productive fantasy role--any time soon.
Posted: 10/25/2012 2:43pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) said he hopes to be able to play again this season but does not know when he can return from a plantar plate tear in his right foot. He said he may need surgery on the injury but hopes to postpone a possible surgery until after the season. The injury has not allowed Garcon to run at full speed at this point.
Huddle Up: If you are still holding Garcon and holding out hope for a return, this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear.
Posted: 10/24/2012 11:59pm et
Updating a previous report, surgery is a possibility for Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (toe) down the road. Sources said Wednesday, Oct. 24, that the injury has not progressed, and is the same as when he initially suffered it Week 1.
Huddle Up: This has been the fear with Garcon's injury not improving. Stay tuned, but your time will be better spent scanning the wire for a replacement.
Posted: 10/24/2012 7:22pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 24.
Huddle Up: No news isn't good news for Garcon and his troublesome foot. The wideout is trying rest after attempting to play through the pain, and there remains no timetable for his possible return.
Posted: 10/22/2012 5:43pm et
Contrary to a previous report, Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said WR Pierre Garcon (toe) does not have a torn tendon in his toe and is only dealing with inflammation.
Huddle Up: With Fred Davis out of the mix, Griffin will be hard pressed to find any playmakers wtih Garcon on the shelf.
Posted: 10/22/2012 12:13pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garçon has a torn tendon in his foot and he might sit out the next two games leading into the team's bye Nov. 11, according to a person briefed on the specifics of Garcon's injury.
Huddle Up: So much for the week-to-week basis Garçon has been on since suffering the injury in the season opener; that's so unlike Mike Shanahan to not be forthcoming with information fantasy owners might find valuable. Leonard Hankerson and Santana Moss have been picking up the slack in Washington and now have another fortnight without Garçon in the mix to put up decent fantasy numbers.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is doubtful for the team's Week 7 game.
Huddle Up: Another week, another likely absence from Garcon, who has been useless since his Week 1 outburst. This foot injury has lingered for quite a while, paying homage to Darren McFadden's from a year ago.
Posted: 10/18/2012 4:26pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said WR Pierre Garcon (foot) is a long shot to play in team's Week 7 game. Garcon received a shot in his foot Thursday, Oct. 18, to help alleviate pain and did not participate in practice.
Huddle Up: It appears the Garcon waiting game will extend another week.
Posted: 10/17/2012 10:36pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) said he probably came back from his foot injury too soon, causing him to miss additional games with setbacks. It's unclear when Garcon will return to the starting lineup.
Huddle Up: Pushing himself too soon was the fear with Garcon, who has played in 2 games since leaving early in Week 1. His total production stands at 8 receptions for 153 yards.
Posted: 10/17/2012 5:59pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Huddle Up: How much longer are we going to have to wait for Garcon to begin contributing again? If you have held out this long, there is no sense in cutting bait at this point unless you are in dire straits Still, the length of this injury has been a thorn in his owners' sides.
Posted: 10/14/2012 5:40pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was declared inactive for Week 6.
Huddle Up: Garcon had played the past 2 games after a 2-game absence, but had only 4 receptions for 44 yards in those contests. The foot injury, suffered in the season opener, never has quite healed, and with the wideout looking at being less than 100 percent again, the Skins decided to give him a week of rest.
Posted: 10/12/2012 7:10pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.
Huddle Up: Since his big Week 1 performance (4 catches for 109 yards and a TD), Garcon has played in 2 of the Skins' 4 games, totaling only 4 catches for 44 yards and no scores. Wait for some production to return before relying on him in your fantasy lineup.
Posted: 10/5/2012 9:52pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as probable for Week 5.
Huddle Up: Unless your league gave credit for Garcon's fumble recovery in the end zone this past Sunday, the wideout didn't help his fantasy owners much with only 1 catch for 20 yards in his first game back since Week 1. If Garcon is playing, though, he should be getting healthier so look for his numbers to be on the rise.
Posted: 10/3/2012 5:11pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said WR Pierre Garcon (foot) played well Week 4 but is still working his way back into game shape.
Huddle Up: Maybe this explains why he had just one catch for 20 yards last week. He did play 50 snaps, second only to Leonard Hankerson among the receivers. Hopefully this is a sign he will be closer to his Week 1 form than his two-point effort from last week.
Posted: 10/1/2012 11:05am et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon returned in Week 4; however, he said after the game he is not playing at full strength. "I wasn't 100 percent, but I was out there doing the best I can to help the team, and I did everything I could," Garcon said.
Huddle Up: We haven't heard the negative buzz words like "plantar fasciitis" or "Lisfranc" with Garçon, and the fact that he was back on the field at all breeds cautious optimism. Garçon also managed to find the end zone, though it was on a recovery of a Robert Griffin III fumble; check your league scoring rules to make sure your team is properly credited.

Washington Redskins' WR Pierre Garcon was active and played Sunday for the first time since suffering a foot injury in the first quarter of the season opener.
Huddle Up: Garcon caught the only pass throw his way -- a 20-yarder -- but made his biggest contribution in the first quarter when he fell on a Robert Griffin III goal-line fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Expect more production from Garcon going forward as it was still a tight decision Sunday as to if he would even play.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.
Huddle Up: The Redskins -- and not to mention Garcon's fantasy owners -- have grown a little antsy with the wideout having been sidelined since the first quarter of the season opener. Garcon has been able to do a little more this week in practice, but this has all the makings of a game-time decision Sunday.
Posted: 9/28/2012 3:39am et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garçon was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.
Huddle Up: Garçon has yet to return to game action since leaving Week 1 with his foot injury, and word out of Washington is not particularly positive regarding his availability this week. Keep an eye on the Friday practice report to see if Pierre is able to get in a full session, which would put him on track to play Sunday.

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon's injured right foot is improving, but he's not sure whether he'll play in Week 4. Garcon was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Huddle Up: Garçon had a big first week but left that game with an injury and hasn't returned to the field since. We'll need to track his availability through the week leading up to Sunday's game in Tampa.
Posted: 9/26/2012 4:25pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Huddle Up: It sounds like Garcon might be making his return to the lineup this week. The Redskins have been able to move the ball without him, but they have lost the past couple of games. Perhaps Garcon will help them move the ball earlier in the game—Washington got into a big hole against Cincinnati last week. If he returns to the lineup he will be an excellent WR3 or flex option.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said he was uncertain of the status for WR Pierre Garcon (foot) for the Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 'I really don't know,' Shanahan said. 'He's getting treatment everyday and I'm hoping he gets on the practice field on Wednesday (and) he's feeling a lot better and will be ready to play. But I can't tell you at this point.'
Huddle Up: Garcon has missed the Skins' past two games since his strong Week 1 start (4 catches for 109 yards and a TD) and the team is eager to have him back on the field. The team's passing numbers haven't been the same in the two games without Garcon, and the Redskins have dropped both contests.
Posted: 9/21/2012 6:30pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) is doubtful to play in Week 3. 'Pierre went through drill work but is still a little sore,' head coach Mike Shanahan said. 'He didn't take any reps in teams.'
Huddle Up: From most accounts, it sounds like Garcon is not progressing as the Skins have hoped and his fantasy owners are advised to look for another WR option for a second straight week.
Posted: 9/20/2012 5:16pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 20.
Huddle Up: Garcon wanted to try to give it a go in Week 2, but the team made the final call to hold him out. Signs are hopeful, though, that the Skins' top Week 1 wideout will be able to play Sunday. Friday, as per the usual, will go a long ways in determining Garcon's status.
Posted: 9/19/2012 4:13pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Huddle Up: Garçon continues to make his way back from his foot injury. He could start this week after missing Week 2; he had a fantastic 2012 debut with the Redskins before getting sidelined with the injury. Monitor his status through the weekend.
Posted: 9/16/2012 10:03pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) wasn't active for Week 2.
Huddle Up: Garcon, who led Washington with 4 catches for 109 yards and a TD in Week 1, was unable to give it a go Sunday in St. Louis. In his stead, Leonard Hankerson (2-68-TD) and Josh Morgan (5-50) were RGIII's top targets against the Rams.
Posted: 9/15/2012 10:49pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) did not practice all week, but he has not yet been ruled out for the Week 2 game against the St. Louis Rams. He will try to take part in pre-game workouts, but is not expected to play. 'It's pretty hard to play when the first time you really even try it is (warm-ups) before the game,' a source said Saturday, Sept. 15.
Huddle Up: RGIII will have to turn to other targets Sunday in St. Louis after Garcon led the team in receptions (4) and yards (109) in Week 1. Santana Moss and Aldrick Robinson are the Washington wideouts most likely to take a fantasy step forward.
Posted: 9/14/2012 4:12pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said WR Pierre Garcon (foot) will be a game-time decision for Week 2. Shanahan said Garcon's status will be determined more by how much pain Garcon can tolerate than the risk of further injury.
Huddle Up: This is certainly one to monitor on Sunday. If Garçon can't go, Aldrick Robinson would be the best replacement. Even if Garçon plays, it is difficult to imagine him gaining 100-plus receiving yards in one quarter like he did against the Saints.
Posted: 9/13/2012 7:08pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said WR Pierre Garcon (foot) took part in drills during practice Thursday, Sept. 13. Garcon's availability for Week 2 will be determined by his pain tolerance.
Huddle Up: This obviously is a situation that Garcon's fantasy owners will have to monitor. They also will need to have a Plan B at the ready as well.
Posted: 9/12/2012 7:19pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Huddle Up: Garcon actually hurt his foot on his 88-yard TD reception late in the first quarter and finished with a team-high 4 receptions for 109 yards. The injury wasn't believed to be serious, but obviously Garcon will need to get in some work in practice this week before fantasy owners can trust him with a start.
Posted: 9/10/2012 11:51am et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garçon had X-rays on his injured foot after the Week 1 game against the New Orleans Saints, and the tests were negative. He said he was too sore to return to the game, but he is optimistic he'll be ready in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams. "I'm feeling good. Should be good to go next week," Garçon said. "We'll get it checked on, I'll be ready back for St. Louis."
Huddle Up: Garçon scored and topped 100 yards in limited action and seems well on his way to emerging as Robert Griffin III's favorite target. Keep tabs on his availability heading into Week 2; if he can't go your alternative might be Aldrick Robinson, who replaced Garçon in the Redskins lineup and produced four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Posted: 9/9/2012 11:08pm et
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (foot) left the game early Week 1 after suffering a right foot injury and did not return.
Huddle Up: Garçon, ironically, was injured on the Redskins' highlight play of the day -- his 88-yard catch and scoring run late in the first quarter. He finished with 4 catches for a team-high 109 yards. Garcon clearly has established himself as one of RGIII's favorite targets, and a further prognosis should be forthcoming Monday.
Posted: 8/7/2012 4:32pm et
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan praised WR Pierre Garcon Tuesday, Aug. 7, saying Garcon has everything you want in a football player.
Huddle Up: With the Skins' WR corps battling age (Santana Moss), inexperience (Leonard Hankerson) and injuries (Josh Morgan), Garcon is being counted on in D.C. The former Colt hit career highs last season with his 70 catches for 947 yards and 6 TDs, and Shanahan and Co. envision the wideout becoming a trusted target for rookie QB Robert Griffin III.
Posted: 6/12/2012 11:14pm et
A Washington Redskins executive expects WR Pierre Garcon to have a big year with the team.
Huddle Up: We're not sure which "executive" said this but we did hear what Executive Vice President/Head Coach Mike Shanahan said about Garcon two weeks ago: “Well, you can see Pierre Garçon, you know, he’s a big time receiver. You can see his power, his strength, his quickness, his speed since he’s been here. It’s very, very obvious." So far in early fantasy mocks Garcon is rarely picked before the seventh round. He'll be dubbed a "Value pick" unless he catches a 73-yard bomb from RG3 in the first preseason game, in which case he'll jump into the fifth round... and stay there.
