Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews indicated he will be limited during organized team activities, because he is recovering from a thumb injury but expects to be ready for the start of training camp.
Huddle Up: Matthews is certainly due for some better injury-front luck this year after missing a combined 9 games over the past 2 seasons.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday, March 25, that surgery to repair the thumb of LB Clay Matthews (thumb) went well and that he does not expect Matthews to have issues with it. He suffered a fracture in October, had surgery and then broke it again in December.
Huddle Up: Matthews has missed 9 combined games over the last 2 seasons, including 5 last year when he finished with only 7.5 sacks. His IDP owners are hoping these last 2 seasons are the exceptions rather than the rule.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy indicated Monday, Dec. 30, that LB Clay Matthews (thumb) will not be ready for the NFC Wild Card game against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday, Jan. 5. 'Right now, he's out for this week,' McCarthy said.
Huddle Up: It took Matthews more than a month to return from the same injury earlier this season, and while everything is expedited in the postseason the risk of permanent damage is too great for him to be rushed back into the lineup.

Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews (thumb) re-injured his surgically repaired thumb in Week 16 and is out indefinitely. It's being described as a repeat of his last injury, which required surgery and cost him four weeks.
Huddle Up: If Matthews missed a month with this same injury earlier in the season, it's safe to say his 2013 campaign is over.

Green Bay Packers LBs Clay Matthews (thumb) and Nick Perry (foot) took part in limited practice Wednesday, Nov. 6, and were cleared to take part in a full practice Thursday, Nov. 7. If they don't suffer setbacks, it appears they will both return in Week 10. Matthews will need to be fitted with a cast to protect his hand.
Huddle Up: Bad timing for Nick Foles and the Eagles as this will amp up the Packers' pass rush Sunday, provided the cast doesn't hamper Matthews' ability to grip and grab too much. Matthews has been out since getting injured Week 6, and Perry went out the following week.
