New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is in a walking boot after a clean-up procedure on his right foot. He's still expected to be ready for training camp, but he could miss OTAs.
Huddle Up: Edelman is in the mix for a substantial role in the Patriots' passing game, and while missing OTAs won't be a killer it does allow other receivers an opportunity to leapfrog ahead of him on the depth chart.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is back in a walking boot after re-injuring his right foot. It is the same injury that put him on injured reserve in 2012. He likely will be limited in the team's upcoming minicamp.
Huddle Up: Edelman, who had 21 catches for 235 yards and 3 TDs in 9 games this past season, was brought back as slot insurance should new acquisition Danny Amendola miss time -- as has been his NFL M.O. That's not going to work, though, if the insurance policy also is unavailable.

The New England Patriots have re-signed free-agent WR Julian Edelman to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed. Edelman could be limited during offseason workouts because of his foot injury, but the injury is healing properly.
Huddle Up: Edelman is a known commodity for the Patriots, but with Danny Amendola essentially taking the Wes Welker role in the New England offense there's little fantasy upside to Edelman's game.

Free-agent WR Julian Edelman (Patriots) has fully recovered from the foot injury that forced him to finish this season on Injured Reserve.
Huddle Up: At 27, Edelman is just entering his prime and has a chance to grab a full-time role after spending his first 4 NFL seasons as a a reserve in the Pats' organization.

The New York Giants were scheduled to visit with free-agent WR Julian Edelman (Patriots) Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4.
Huddle Up: Before his season was cut short by a broken foot, Edelman finished with 21-235-3 in 9 games -- his best marks since his rookie season of 2009.

The New England Patriots could consider re-signing free-agent WR Julian Edelman this offseason.
Huddle Up: Edelman hasn't received much interest on the market, and could return as a valuable insurance policy behind the often-injured Danny Amendola.

The Cleveland Browns have contacted the agent of impending free-agent WR Julian Edelman (Patriots). He played his college football at nearby Kent State.
Huddle Up: The versatile Edelman perennially was lost in Wes Welker's shadow with the Pats but could serve a dual slot WR/return man role with the Browns with the team expected to lose Josh Cribbs.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (broken foot) was placed on Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 4. He will likely need surgery.
Huddle Up: The absence of TE Rob Gronkowski and now Edelman only means additional middle-of-the-field targets for already-busy WR Wes Welker and TE Aaron Hernandez.

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman suffered a foot injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 13 game and was seen with a walking boot after the contest.
Huddle Up: Edelman, who missed several games earlier in the season with a hand injury and also suffered a concussion on Thanksgiving night, now is dealing with a foot injury. He finished with only 1 catch for 13 yards in the game.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (concussion) is expected to play in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. He traveled to South Florida with the team, and he said he is feeling better.
Huddle Up: With Rob Gronkowski out and Aaron Hernandez still limited, Edelman has come on with 7 catches for 122 yards and 2 TDs over the past 2 games. He also has scored a special-teams TD in each of the 2 contests.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (concussion) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Huddle Up: Edelman has had an eventful past 2 games with 7 catches for 122 yards and 2 TDs while also adding a pair of special-teams scores, but he was knocked out of the Week 12 contest after taking a hard shot, and he's going to have to clear the post-concussion hurdles this week to gain clearance for Sunday's tilt in Miami.

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (head) suffered a head injury in the third quarter of the Week 12 game against the New York Jets. He was taken to the locker room for evaluation and didn't return.
Huddle Up: With 2 catches for 64 yards and a TD and a special-teams score before sustaining the injury, Edelman was on his way to a second-straight strong outing after scoring an offensive and special-teams TD a week ago. Edelman will at least have a few extra days to recover with the Pats' next game not until Dec. 2.

With New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm) out for Week 12 and TE Aaron Hernandez (ankle) still less than 100 percent, the offense will likely employ more three-receiver packages than usual against the New York Jets. In recent weeks, they had been trending toward that anyway, with WR Julian Edelman seeing more playing time.
Huddle Up: It sounds like Edelman might have a few weeks of fantasy relevancy while Gronkowski is out and the Patriots work Aaron Hernandez back into the system. Of course, for all we know, Danny Woodhead will start lining up in the slot and completely destroy Edelman's value.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (hand) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is questionable for the team's Week 7 game.
Huddle Up: Edelman is trying to get back on the field for the first time since Week 3, but it's the Patriots -- where everyone is questionable -- and it's tough to tell how much progress a player really is making.

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (hand) has been ruled out for the Week 6 game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to the team.
Huddle Up: Edelman hasn't played since Week 3, and in the 2 games he's been out, Wes Welker has gone off with 22 catches for 233 yards and a TD.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (hand) and TE Aaron Hernandez (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and have been ruled out for Week 4.
Huddle Up: The news on Hernandez is as expected, while the Pats were hoping to see more improvement out of Edelman this week but obviously didn't. The biggest beneficiary of all this continues to be WR Wes Welker, who has a combined 13 catches for 237 yards on 21 targets over the past 2 games.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman did not practice Thursday, Sept. 27.
Huddle Up: Edelman is nursing a hand issue. The Patriots play their injury info notoriously close to the vest, but if Edelman isn't practicing that's definitely a bad sign. He'll need to get some work in on Friday to warrant consideration for a fantasy start this week.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (hand) suffered a hand injury on his second quarter touchdown reception in the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He headed for the locker room for treatment before halftime, tried to return to the game in the second half, and went back to the locker room for further attention.
Huddle Up: While Wes Welker (8-142) and Brandon Lloyd (9-108) combined for 17 catches on 22 targets, Edelman hauled in Tom Brady's only passing TD of the night -- a 7-yarder in the waning seconds of the first half. While Edelman's injury doesn't sound like it's anything long term, it's still another short-term issue for the Pats, who already are without TE Aaron Herandez.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman currently projects as the team's No. 3 wide receiver.
Huddle Up: Deion Branch's surprising release Friday has opened the door for the Wes Welkeresque Edelman. However, even as the No. 3 wideout, Edelman still is only fifth in the Patriots' receiving pecking order behind WRs Welker and Brandon Lloyd and TEs Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. In standard-size leagues, he will only have fantasy value if either Welker or Lloyd are out injured for any period of time.
