Huddle Up: While 2017 was far from his best season, it should be noted that the former Heisman Trophy winner played through a mire of injuries, not to mention he was coming back from a fractured fibula at the end of 2016. The good news is he should be 100 percent healthy going into next year, and thus, he'll be a top bounce-back candidate with legit QB1 potential for all formats.

Huddle Up: Mariota undoubtedly took a step backward in 2017, but a new coordinator and new scheme may give new life to the talented gunslinger. What makes Mariota more appealing from a fantasy perspective is his ability to run. He needs to be a part of the low-end QB1 conversation for 2018.
Posted: 1/17/2018 6:24pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota regressed in several major statistical categories this season, including throwing for a career-high interceptions and career-low touchdowns, but the former Heisman Trophy winner also still managed to excel with certain parts of his game, lending plenty of hope that he can get back on track. It's a little concerning that he'll be playing for his third coach in four seasons, but Mariota will be one of the top bounce-back candidates going into next year.
Posted: 1/14/2018 8:43am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota will have the entire offseason to recover from the injury and should return to the field at some point during offseason workouts. He was a disappointment for fantasy owners this season and probably should be seen as a No. 2 quarterback next season.
Posted: 1/13/2018 8:54pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota put together a decent game despite the lopsided nature of the score. Overall, his 2017 season was a disappointment from a fantasy perspective, and he will be an upside QB2 heading into 2018.
Posted: 1/6/2018 4:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota struggled in the first half of the game but played well in the second half. He will face the New England Patriots or Pittsburgh Steelers in the next round and will be a risky fantasy option.
Posted: 12/24/2017 2:50pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota entered the season with huge fantasy expectations, but he has had just one 300-yard passing day and only three games with multi-TD passing performances. He has also folded down the stretch for his real team, losing each of the past three starts.
Posted: 12/17/2017 11:19pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has had an up-and-down season, and this turned out to be one of his better outings. Still, Mariota has been uneven to the point where he's a high-end QB2 at the best.
Posted: 12/15/2017 3:14pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota should be able to receive his normal workload this week against the San Francisco 49ers. He has struggled recently with three straight games under 200 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions during that span. He has a favorable matchup this week, but owners probably have better options available to use.
Posted: 12/13/2017 4:25pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has gone three straight games with less than 200 passing yards and has posted two touchdowns and four interceptions during that span. He will have a favorable matchup this week and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.
Posted: 12/11/2017 6:38pm ET
Huddle Up: While the former Heisman Trophy winner has a favorable matchup on tap with San Francisco, it's definitely concerning that not only is he banged up, but he's also coming off a performance that saw him register a season-low 39.6 QB Rating. Owners will have to closely follow his status throughout the next few days, as there's little chance Mariota is 100 percent by next week.
Posted: 12/11/2017 1:12pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has been one of the biggest disappointments of the 2017 fantasy season. Of course, not being at 100% may be partly to blame for that. On the year he is the QB18 and is a risky start going forward no matter the matchup.
Posted: 12/10/2017 7:07pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this season and he hasn't looked right for a while. He played through the injury on Sunday and was able to finish without missing any time, but he is not someone you want to rely upon going forward.
Posted: 12/3/2017 6:17pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota entered the season with high fantasy expectations as a borderline QB1/QB2, but he has failed to throw for 200 yards in each of the past two games, and he has one or no passing touchdowns in seven of his past eight outings. He isn't a recommended fantasy option heading into Week 14 in most formats.
Posted: 11/28/2017 8:28am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has been shaky the last couple of weeks, but the Texans have allowed 26.7 fantasy points per game to QBs the last five weeks. That's more than two points higher per game than the next team. Mariota will be a midrange QB1 option in fantasy.
Posted: 11/26/2017 3:15pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has struggled mightily this season, throwing nine touchdowns with 11 interceptions while also finding the end zone four times with his feet. Fantasy owners had big expectations for Mariota this season, but he has performed like a low-end QB2 more often than that. The Titans host the Texans in Week 13.
Posted: 11/18/2017 6:53pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota is coming off an ugly, four-interception performance in Week 10, and while Mularkey may claim he is pleased with Mariota's progression this year, fantasy owners certainly are not. He has a chance to put up QB1 numbers against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11, but at this point, he is strictly a matchup play.
Posted: 11/16/2017 10:07pm ET
Huddle Up: While his passing yardage (season-high 306) and two touchdowns were nice, his four interceptions doomed the Titans and compiled some serious negative points for fantasy owners. It was also disappointing to see him run for just five yards after finally looking like a mobile QB again this past Sunday. With 10 days to heal up and a date with the dismal Indianapolis Colts on deck brighter days should be ahead of Mariota.
Posted: 11/13/2017 3:22pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota could be limited during practice this week but should be able to play this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has thrown for at least 200 yards in each of the last four games and has four touchdowns and three interceptions during that span. Mariota could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options available.
Posted: 11/6/2017 11:38am ET
Huddle Up: While the injury isn't the only reason Mariota hasn't taken the league by storm this season, his lack of mobility has severely limited his fantasy upside and that of the entire offense. With the running threat Mariota provides and Corey Davis finally healthy, there is potential for this offense to start making some noise down the stretch.
Posted: 11/5/2017 7:00pm ET
Huddle Up: It was the first time Mariota has thrown for multiple scores since late September in what has been an underwhelming year overall. Consider him an upside QB2 against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10.
Posted: 10/22/2017 1:55pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota struggled against the Cleveland pass defense, but the team was able to pick up the road win in overtime. He'll get two weeks to go back to the drawing board and figure things out with a bye in Week 8.
Posted: 10/20/2017 2:50pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota threw for 306 yards and one touchdown in Week 6 and probably will be able to do more running this week. He will have a favorable matchup this week and should be a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues.
Posted: 10/19/2017 1:40pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota appears to be recovered from his hamstring injury and should receive his normal workload this week. He has thrown four touchdowns and four interceptions this season but should be considered a solid No. 1 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues.
Posted: 10/18/2017 2:17pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota did not suffer any setbacks on Monday against the Colts, although he was not his normal self by staying mostly in the pocket and rarely moving or scrambling. He should have a nice week against a Cleveland Browns pass defense ranking 17th in the NFL with 226.3 yards per game while allowing a league-high 14 touchdown passes.
Posted: 10/17/2017 2:52pm ET
Huddle Up: It's all systems go for Mariota. He has a talented arm, quick legs and a reliable supporting cast. Barring any future setbacks or other injuries, he'll continue to be in the middle of the QB1 conversation.
Posted: 10/17/2017 11:50am ET
Huddle Up: The Indianapolis Colts don't exactly have an elite pass defense, but the return of Mariota indubitably helps. We knew the Titans had a deep and talented receiving corps before the season started and that is becoming more evident. Rookie Taywan Taylor is a legitimate deep threat who is worthy a pickup in deeper standard leagues if available.
Posted: 10/17/2017 6:29am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota has a tantalizing matchup with the Cleveland Browns next week. After some of the injuries to quarterbacks, Mariota might be a top-five option in this matchup.
Posted: 10/16/2017 8:53pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota missed last week's affair against the Dolphins but certainly didn't show any rust in this one, as he recorded season highs in passing yards and completion percentage. The only disappointment was that he didn't chip in any rushing yards, but that shouldn't be a surprise given his hamstring issue. Another week of rest should allow him to scramble more again, but overall, owners who decided to fire him up this week have to be pleased with this outcome.
Posted: 10/16/2017 4:03pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota will be playing despite his hamstring injury and his movement may be affected a bit because of the injury. He will have a favorable matchup against the Indianapolis Colts and should be started if owners decided to wait on him.
Posted: 10/16/2017 11:16am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota is back in time for a stellar matchup against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL so far in 2017. The dual-threat quarterback is winless in his young career versus Indianapolis (0-3), but in three games he has averaged more than 300 total yards and two touchdowns. Start him tonight if it's not too late.
Posted: 10/15/2017 5:34am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota was a limited practice participant throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Although he possesses a favorable matchup versus the Colts, fantasy owners should look for healthier options at quarterback due to the fact that the Titans have a Monday night game this week.
Posted: 10/14/2017 12:18pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota probably will be a game-time decision, so owners will need to monitor the situation leading up to the game. Owners may want to use a healthier option at quarterback this week since there would be limited options if Mariota is ruled out for Monday Night Football.
Posted: 10/13/2017 3:50pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota missed last week's game in Miami, as Matt Cassel steered the ship in his absence. Mariota appears to be making progress toward playing in Monday's game with the Colts, but his status won't officially be known until after Saturday's practice.
Posted: 10/12/2017 2:17pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota appears to have a chance to play in Week 6, but owners will have a better idea of his status later in the week. He would have a favorable matchup if he plays, but owners can consider healthier options for their starting lineups since Mariota plays on Monday Night Football.
Posted: 10/11/2017 6:34pm ET
Huddle Up: Owners will need to see what Mariota does during practice this week to see if he has a chance to play in Week 6. He will be a risky option since the Titans play on Monday Night Football, so owners may want to use a healthier option in their lineup this week.
Posted: 10/9/2017 12:32pm ET
Huddle Up: Owners will need to keep an eye on Mariota's practice participation this week to see if he has any chance to play in Week 6. He could be a game-time decision again this week, so owners will need other options available in case he sits out.
Posted: 10/9/2017 10:09am ET
Huddle Up: The Titans gained 20 or fewer yards on 13 of 15 possessions, went three-and-out on eight drives and had negative yardage on three with Matt Cassel at the controls against the Miami Dolphins. The fact the Titans play on Monday next week will make it hard to trust any Tennessee fantasy player despite the favorable matchup, unless Mariota is able to put together some full practices between now and then. As a result, owners should consider other alternatives.
Posted: 10/8/2017 6:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Matt Cassel struggled while filling in for Mariota, and as long as Cassel remains under center, Rishard Matthews, Delanie Walker and the rest of Tennessee's skill players are going to be tough to trust.
Posted: 10/8/2017 5:55am ET
Huddle Up: Despite the hamstring issue, Mariota had been a limited participant in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Matt Cassel is expected to start in his absence but is not a viable fantasy option, so the fantasy values of Tennessee's offensive weapons should be downgraded accordingly.
Posted: 10/6/2017 1:29pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota needs his wheels to offer value to fantasy owners, and it is awfully tough if the hamstring injury flares up to count on him to be effective or even finish the game. Look for other choices this week.
Posted: 10/6/2017 10:53am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota will likely be a true game-time decision despite the fact he has been limited to stationery throws in practice this week. The third-year quarterback told reporters he believes he only needs 'a little mobility' in order to play. Despite Mariota's optimism, it would be wise for owners to make other plans at quarterback. Even though the Dolphins haven't shown a great deal on either side of the ball, it's hard to be optimistic about any Titan this week with a limited Mariota or Matt Cassel leading the way.
Posted: 10/5/2017 11:41am ET
Huddle Up: Mariota probably will be a game-time decision for Week 5, so owners will need to check the inactive list for his status. He is a risky option this week because he could be limited if he plays in the game, so owners may want to consider healthier options to use in their lineups.
Posted: 10/4/2017 4:51pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota may be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to keep an eye on his practice participation during the week. He will be a risky option if he plays because the injury may affect his ability to run the ball. Owners may want to consider healthier options for their starting lineup.
Posted: 10/2/2017 12:22pm ET
Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor his practice participation this week to see if he has a chance to play in Week 5. He will be a risky option this week if he plays, so owners may want to consider a healthier option at quarterback and keep Mariota on the bench.
Posted: 10/1/2017 11:56am ET
Huddle Up: Not good. Not one bit. Mariota's athleticism drives his fantasy value, and without his wheels at 100 percent, he might as well be unplayable. Check back early in the week for a prognosis.
Posted: 9/17/2017 5:30pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota wasn't great, but he was able to lead his team to victory. The Titans will be back home in Week 3 but they face a difficult matchup against the Seahawks. Avoid.
Posted: 9/10/2017 2:30pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota entered this season with a good amount of hype in fantasy leagues and played well even though he did not throw for a touchdown. He will be facing a good Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 2 but can still be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback.
Posted: 8/27/2017 2:15pm ET
Huddle Up: Mariota played well last season before he suffered his injury and should improve his play with another year of experience. He will have a solid group of pass catchers to work with and adds more fantasy value because of his running ability. Mariota can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in leagues.
Posted: 8/12/2017 8:10pm ET
Huddle Up: The numbers are really secondary to the fact that Mariota saw action in a game for the first time since breaking his leg last season. It should be full steam ahead for the dual-threat quarterback, and Mariota has a chance to sneak into QB1 territory this season.
