Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) has been putting in work rehabbing this offseason after having his last two seasons cut short by different injuries, according to OT Lane Johnson. 'I love it, every day when I go in the building, all I see is him in there before everybody else, rehabbing, doing whatever it takes.' Johnson said of Wentz. 'I just think he's really on a different mental state than he's ever been as far as training and ignoring distractions and really trying to be the best player he is. So, I just see that worker and a guy who is about to do some big things this season.'

Huddle Up: Wentz is currently being drafted as the ninth quarterback off the board. He is being slightly discounted due to the perceived injury risk, but he has immense upside in his current spot.

  • Posted: 6/6/2019 4:44pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz signed a four-year contract extension with the Eagles Thursday, June 6, that will run through the 2024 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Wentz has struggled with injuries over the last few seasons but has played well when he is on the field. He should be considered a No. 1 quarterback in most fantasy leagues in 2019.

  • Posted: 6/3/2019 12:01pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is 'locked in potentially to a return to MVP form,' according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Head coach Doug Pederson echoed similar sentiments with reporters recently as well.

Huddle Up: Wentz missed five games last season due to a back injury and has been sidelined for eight total since playing all 16 as a rookie in 2016. With that said, it's hard to ignore the weapons he has at his disposal - Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson and Zach Ertz, among several others - or the solid offensive line he has protecting him. If he can play a full season again, it is quite possible Wentz can produce at a high-end fantasy QB1 level.

  • Posted: 5/21/2019 7:55am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) has no limitations in organized team activities, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Huddle Up: Wentz a year-and-a-half removed from a torn ACL that wrecked an MVP season. This will be a prove-it year to show that peak wasn't smoke and mirrors. He's a high-end option at the position with top-two upside and a mediocre floor.

  • Posted: 5/18/2019 4:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has started contract extension talks with the Eagles, but the two sides are not close to an agreement at this point.

Huddle Up: Wentz is under contract for a few more years but could receive a contract extension before the start of the 2019 season. Wentz has played well when he is healthy, but he has deal with injuries over the last few seasons. He can still be a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues this upcoming season.

  • Posted: 4/29/2019 1:25pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz's fifth-year option was exercised Monday, April 29.

Huddle Up: Wentz has played well when he is healthy but has missed time each of the last two seasons because of injuries. He can be considered a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in fantasy leagues, but fantasy players may want to draft a solid backup because of Wentz's injury history.

  • Posted: 3/25/2019 5:48pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is a player the Eagles would like to sign to a contract extension at some point, according to general manager Howie Roseman.

Huddle Up: Wentz has missed time in each of the last two seasons because of injuries but is still the team's long-term option at quarterback. He has played well when he is healthy but is risky because of his injury history. He can still be considered a No. 1 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 3/3/2019 9:14pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is expected to be healthy by the start of workouts in mid-April, sources close to the quarterback said Sunday, March 3.

Huddle Up: Wentz has been unable to make it through the entire regular season in each of the past two years, and now the Eagles do not have a savior in Nick Foles, as he will be allowed to pursue opportunities elsewhere. You can expect the Eagles will be very, very careful with Wentz during the offseason and into training camp. When healthy, he has low-end QB1 fantasy ability.

  • Posted: 3/3/2019 2:56pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz probably will not receive a contract extension this offseason, in the opinion of The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.

Huddle Up: Wentz has missed a good portion of the last two seasons because of injuries, so the team may want to see him play a full season before signing him to an extension. Wentz has played well when he is healthy and can be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/20/2019 11:00am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is expected to be healthy enough to be a full participant when offseason workouts start in April, according to sources.

Huddle Up: The Eagles probably will limit Wentz during the early part of offseason workouts, but he should be a full participant during minicamps and training camp. He has played well when he is healthy but has not been able to finish the last two seasons because of injuries. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback next season, but owners may want to consider a strong backup quarterback because of Wentz's injury history.

  • Posted: 1/15/2019 9:06am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is the team's 'starting quarterback going forward ,' head coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the team's season-ending news conference.

Huddle Up: As expected, the Eagles remain fully committed to Wentz even though he's been unable to finish each of the last two seasons. Look for Nick Foles to return on the final year of his current deal and be dealt if Philly can receive any kind of decent return in a trade.

  • Posted: 1/10/2019 3:51pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) remained out of practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: This is to be expected, as Wentz isn't expected back at any point during the playoffs if the Eagles pull off the unthinkable once again. Nick Foles is firmly in place under center and could potentially offer solid value as a QB1 option in postseason DFS formats.

  • Posted: 1/9/2019 1:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Huddle Up: Wentz isn't expected to start the playoff game against the New Orleans Saints anyway, as Nick Foles has been working his magic yet again in the postseason. It's expected Wentz will be inactive again, with Nate Sudfeld as the backup to Foles. Avoid Wentz in any fantasy capacity until 2019.

  • Posted: 1/4/2019 9:16am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) was on the practice field wearing his jersey Friday, Jan. 4, but did not participate in the workouts.

Huddle Up: A second straight Eagles season is finishing up in the playoffs but also with an injured Wentz serving as a spectator. That will be certainly need to be factored into Wentz's fantasy draft stock next summer.

  • Posted: 1/2/2019 1:25pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is not practicing Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Huddle Up: Wentz will continue to heal up as he watches Nick Foles lead the Eagles in the playoffs again. Keep tabs on this situation if the Eagles advance and Foles keeps playing well.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 5:57am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is expected to have a scan on his back after the regular season ends, although he still remains unlikely to be available for the playoffs if the team makes it.

Huddle Up: Wentz should be fully recovered from his injury by the time training camp opens and should remain rostered in keeper and dynasty leagues. He can be viewed as a QB1 in all fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 12/27/2018 1:06pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) was not able to practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Wentz is focused on his 2019 campaign as Nick Foles will start in his place again this week. It's been a rough couple years of injuries for Wentz, but he'll have plenty of time to recover between now and next offseason. View him as a QB1 if he's at full health come draft time.

  • Posted: 12/26/2018 12:53pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) was held out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: It's on to next season for Wentz. He should maintain his starting status despite Nick Foles performing well in his absence. If he's back to full health next offseason, Wentz is someone to consider drafting in the mid-to-late rounds as a QB1.

  • Posted: 12/24/2018 5:42pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) will remain on the 53-man roster even though he will not start in the Week 17 game.

Huddle Up: The Eagles likely are keep Wentz on the active roster in case they make the playoffs, but Nick Foles will be starting in Week 17. Foles could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some leagues this week.

  • Posted: 12/22/2018 8:45am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) received a second opinion when the team visited Los Angeles last week, in an attempt to receive clearance to play through a stress fracture in his back. However, the doctor agreed with the team's medical staff that rest would be the best course of action right now.

Huddle Up: Nick Foles will be under center for the Eagles for the foreseeable future but should only be viewed as a viable fantasy in two-quarterback leagues. Wentz is not worth rostering outside of keeper or dynasty formats at this point, especially since the majority of leagues do not play beyond Week 16.

  • Posted: 12/21/2018 11:48am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and has been ruled out for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Nick Foles will receive another start with Wentz sidelined again. Foles threw for 270 yards and zero touchdowns last week and will be facing another solid defense this week. He probably should only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

  • Posted: 12/20/2018 3:32pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Huddle Up: Wentz is expected to miss another game, so Nick Foles will continue to be the starting quarterback. He will be facing a solid Houston Texans defense and may only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

  • Posted: 12/19/2018 12:42pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Huddle Up: Wentz won't return as starter until he is healthy, which could be at least another week or not until next season. In the meantime, if Nick Foles is under center again he cannot be started against the Houston Texans.

  • Posted: 12/17/2018 9:47am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is being considered 'week-to-week' and will take back starting quarterback duties when he is healthy, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Huddle Up: Peterson also confirmed Nick Foles will start in Week 16. At this point, whether Wentz has any chance to return this season or not figures to depend on if the Eagles are still in the playoff race after playing the Houston Texans in Week 16. For fantasy purposes, Wentz can be dropped since the season ends for most owners next week.

  • Posted: 12/15/2018 8:32am ET

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) has been ruled out for Week 15's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Wentz had not practiced at all during the week due to a stress fracture in his back and could need approximately three months to fully recover from the injury, so this news should not come as a surprise. Nick Foles will serve as the team's starting quarterback for the foreseeable future but should not be started in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/15/2018 7:14am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) could require approximately three months to recover from a stress fracture in his back, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com. Although he is listed as doubtful for Week 15's game against the Los Angeles Rams, Wentz is not expected to play again this season.

Huddle Up: The good news is that Wentz will not need to undergo surgery for his back problem, which has plagued him for several weeks. Nick Foles is expected to be Philadelphia's starter at quarterback going forward but should be considered a risky play for owners who have teams in the fantasy playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/14/2018 2:15pm ET

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not practice for a third straight day Friday, Dec. 14, and he is listed as doubtful for Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Wentz appears unlikely to play due to the stress injury in his back, so expect Nick Foles to face his former employer.

  • Posted: 12/14/2018 7:41am ET

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) has a stress injury in his back that has evolved over time, according to head coach Doug Pederson. A full recovery would take three months, but he's expected to be listed as questionable and travel with the team.

Huddle Up: On that note, Nick Foles has a good matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. It's a dangerous play in the fantasy playoffs, though, because he could have to throw every down to stay in the game. There is risk of turnovers and yardage reward.

  • Posted: 12/13/2018 2:29pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Wentz is expected to miss at least the Week 15 game and could miss the rest of the season, so owners should monitor the situation. Nick Foles likely will be the starting quarterback this week but can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/13/2018 7:56am ET

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) underwent a scan on his back, which was inconclusive, and he'll have an MRI Thursday, Dec. 13. The issue has plagued him for several weeks.

Huddle Up: He's unlikely to play against the Los Angeles Rams. Nick Foles has a good matchup, on paper, but he's a pretty volatile matchup play in a game he may have to throw the kitchen sink to stay in range.

  • Posted: 12/12/2018 8:28am ET

Updating an earlier report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is not expected to play in Week 15, and his season could be over. The team is still gathering information on his health.

Huddle Up: Nick Foles becomes a matchup play, and the Los Angeles Rams provide a good matchup. However, that can be looked at from two sides. The Rams' offense is so potent that teams have to throw more often to stay in the game. That doesn't make Foles a shoo-in for a good play this week.

  • Posted: 12/12/2018 7:58am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz's (back) status for Week 15 is up in the air due to a back injury. Head coach Doug Pederson said the focus was on today and Wentz getting better.

Huddle Up: You can read between the lines here that Wentz is questionable this week. Keep tabs on him in the practice reports.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 6:42pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 22-of-32 passes for 228 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Wentz had just his third three-TD game of the season. He'll look to keep things going next Sunday night on the road against the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Posted: 12/3/2018 8:53pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 27-of-39 passes for 306 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins on Monday, Dec. 3.

Huddle Up: After a couple of subpar games Wentz was back over 300 yards and able to throw at least two touchdowns. He has five 300-yard games and seven occasions with two or more TD strikes. He remains a decent low-end QB1 heading into next week's crucial game at Dallas.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 10:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz went 20-for-28 on his pass attempts for 236 yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 12.

Huddle Up: There isn't a lot to write about Wentz's pedestrian showing other than it was a significant improvement over last week. An MVP candidate a season ago, Wentz just hasn't looked the same since returning, and he's running out of chances to get right in 2018. Perhaps a Monday Night meeting with a Redskins team that looked lost on Thanksgiving will improve his fortunes.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 6:11pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 19-of-33 passes for 156 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints and he was sacked three times and hit five times.

Huddle Up: This was a shocking performance, as the Saints pass defense has been very porous this season. Wentz entered with two or more TD passes in six straight outings, so at a minimum he was expected to extend that streak. He had a season low in yardage and his first zero-TD game of the season. The defending champs are on the ropes, looking to rebound at home against the lowly Giants in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 8:30pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 32-of-44 passes for 360 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Wentz has returned to his pre-injury form, posting two or more touchdowns over his past six straight outings while going over 310 yards in four of the contests. The Eagles might now be mowing down the opponents, but Wentz is certainly doing his part. Philly travels to New Orleans in Week 11 for what could be a shootout under the roof.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 9:37am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz went 21-for-30 for 286 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. He also rushed for 29 yards on five carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Wentz has thrown at least two touchdowns in each of his last five games and at least 250 yards in every game this season. He should be considered a weekly starting option once he returns from his Week 9 bye.

  • Posted: 10/25/2018 1:09pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 25.

Huddle Up: Wentz has played really well this season with at least 300 yards in three of the last four games and at least two touchdowns in all four of those games. He will be facing a solid defense but should still be considered a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/24/2018 2:15pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: Wentz should be good to go for the Week 8 game in London, but he'll be facing the league's No. 1 pass defense. The Jags have allowed 179.7 yards per game through the air with a league-low six touchdowns and 14 pass plays of 20 or more yards through seven outings. You might want to go another way for fantasy purposes.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 1:49pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 30-of-37 passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers and he also lost a fumble.

Huddle Up: Wentz has gone over 300 yards in three of his past four starts and he has at least two touchdowns in four consecutive outings. That ugly ACL injury which ended his 2017 season prematurely is well in the rear-view mirror and he is back to fantasy elite status. The Eagles meet the Jaguars in London in Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/19/2018 12:37pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 19, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Wentz has been playing well since returning to the starting lineup and has seven touchdowns and zero interceptions over the last three games. He should be considered a weekly starting option in all leagues as long as he stays healthy.

  • Posted: 10/18/2018 1:09pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.

Huddle Up: The Carolina Panthers have been mediocre against the pass this year and Wentz has been on fire since returning nearly a month ago. He's comfortably in QB1 territory.

  • Posted: 10/17/2018 4:42pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Huddle Up: This appears to be a new issue for Wentz, though it won't affect his availability for Sunday. With multiple touchdown passes in his last three games, he'll be a lower-end QB1 in this week's matchup.

  • Posted: 10/11/2018 9:19pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 26 of 36 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns during the team's 34-13 win over the New York Giants on Thursday, Oct. 11.

Huddle Up: This was by far the best the Eagles have looked offensively this season, and Wentz has now thrown for 937 yards and seven TDs without an interception over the last three games. The 25-year-old has re-established himself as solid QB1 for fantasy owners, and he'll get a little extra time to recuperate before the Carolina Panthers come to town in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/10/2018 11:07am ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (rest) returned to a full practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Huddle Up: Wentz represents a borderline QB1 this week in what will be a tough test on the road versus a divisional rival in the New York Giants.

  • Posted: 10/9/2018 12:54pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (rest) was held out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Huddle Up: The Eagles are suddenly on a losing streak, but it's not Wentz's fault. During that two-game streak he has averaged 329.5 yards and two touchdowns. In what will be a tough divisional matchup, Wentz is a borderline No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 11:03pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz finished 24-of-35 for 311 yards and two touchdowns while adding 26 yards rushing on five carries in Week 5 versus the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Wentz also lost a fumble, which resulted in a 64-yard fumble return by defensive lineman Linval Joseph. Despite the turnover, Wentz has exceeded 300 yards passing and accounted for two touchdowns in each of the last two games, and he certainly does not bear the responsibility for the Eagles losing consecutive games. The third-year starter should be considered a low-end fantasy QB1 in Week 6 against the New York Giants.

  • Posted: 10/2/2018 5:25pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has been sacked on 17.9 percent of his dropbacks when opponents blitzed since returning to action in Week 3.

Huddle Up: While Wentz figures to be on the slower end of getting rid of the ball because of how much he trusts his mobility, the high sack rate is most likely a function of him getting acclimated to live action again and his supporting cast working their way back from injury as well. Wentz should be a solid - if not high-end - fantasy QB1 again by midseason.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 4:18pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 33-of-50 passes for 348 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Huddle Up: Wentz has not shown any rust in his two starts since returning from a torn ACL. Unfortunately, the results have been mixed in the standings, winning at home last week and losing his first road start since returning. Still, he remains a solid low-end QB1 in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings
