Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper posted five receptions for 50 yards on seven targets in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.

Huddle Up: Hooper equaled the amount of receptions he had through the first three games, and his yardage total was his most since Week 1. He still has to show a little more consistency before he can be considered in fantasy leagues on a regular basis, although he could continue to see more work going forward if Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu are forced to miss time beyond the Week 5 bye.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper posted two receptions for seven yards in Week 2 against the Packers on just two targets.

Huddle Up: Hooper had a huge stat line in the opening game win in Chicago, but we told you to tamp down expectations. His targets remained just about the same, but he had the one big play last week. Until he sees an uptick in targets he should be treated more as a TE2 in most fantasy formats heading into Week 3 in Detroit.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper made the most of his two targets in Week 1 at Chicago, posting two receptions for 128 yards and a score.

Huddle Up: The highlight of the afternoon for the Atlanta offense was a connection between Matt Ryan and Hooper for 88 yards on a busted coverage. While the stat line is sure to jump out, keep in mind he had just the two targets. Temper expectations heading into Week 2 against the Packers.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper became the first rookie tight end to catch a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, and he is the first rookie to have a receiving touchdown since retired WR Torry Holt in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Huddle Up: Hooper isn't a consistent part of Atlanta's passing attack yet, but he is one of the more promising young players at the position. For now, his fantasy value is limited to keeper formats.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 30, and has been ruled out for Week 17.

Huddle Up: With Hooper and Jacob Tamme sidelined, Atlanta doesn't have a tight end worth using in fantasy circles.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 10:18am ET

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) will not be able to play in Week 16 because of his knee injury.

Huddle Up: Levine Toilolo and Joshua Perkins will both see time at tight end with Hooper out of the lineup, but neither player will have a big role in the passing game. Owners in all leagues should avoid the Falcons tight ends.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: Hooper's status for Week 16 is uncertain, so owners should check on his status later in the week. He has not posted more than 10 yards in any of his last five games and should be avoided in all leagues.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) was carted off in the fourth quarter of the Week 15 game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a left knee injury.

Huddle Up: The source and severity of the injury is not yet known. If Hooper misses time it would be Levine Toilolo taking over as the starting tight end, but he would have minimal fantasy appeal.

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper made the start in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he made just one grab for eight yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Hooper could not take advantage of the absence of Jacob Tamme. Going forward he isn't worth using in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues. The Falcons are off in Week 11.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 9:48pm ET

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper posted five receptions for 41 yards on five targets in the Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers, stepping up once TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) went down.

Huddle Up: Hooper might be worth a look as a bye-week replacement heading into Week 9 against the poor Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass defense if Tamme is forced to miss the game on a short week.
