Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry will be the main running back in 2019 after finishing strong in 2018, according to general manager Jon Robinson. 'He proved that he can step in there and carry the load, and we'll try to put that right back on him,' Robinson said. 'We'll certainly be mindful of the carries that he's getting and the touches that he's getting.'

Huddle Up: Henry rushed for 625 yards and eight touchdowns in five December games and will receive a majority of carries next season. He can be considered a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 2/6/2019 8:32am ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry will be a big part of the offense in 2019 as offensive coordinator Arthur Smith said they plan to run a lot of zone blocking schemes. 'Derrick will be a big part of the offense,' Smith said. 'He has a rare skill set. Derrick's a home-run hitter. Zone is a great starting point for us, but there are a lot of schemes that fit Derrick and fit Dion (Lewis), or whoever else will be on our roster that we will hand the ball (to.) Gaps, pin and pulls, zone reads, but there's a certain mentality that we want to play with coming off the football. We want to be physical and knock people back.'

Huddle Up: Henry emerged into a solid RB2 this season with a 215-1,059-12 line. He doesn't factor in much in the passing game, which suppresses his value in PPR leagues. However, he figures to be another supplemental piece to your roster early in drafts in 2019.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 11:21pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry carried 16 times for 93 yards and added a 13-yard reception against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17.

Huddle Up: Henry became the team's bell cow late in the season and looked equal to the task. His lack of involvement in the passing game knocks him down a peg or two, especially in PPR formats, but he figures to be in the RB2 conversation.

  • Posted: 12/27/2018 10:36am ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has rushed for 532 yards and eight touchdowns in four games in December. That's the most rushing yards by any player in a calendar month this season.

Huddle Up: Henry gets one more game to add to his December yardage total -- which is 98 more yards than he gained in his first 11 games combined -- and it will come in the AFC South showdown against the Colts, who allow the 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. Henry is averaging 24.3 touches per game, though, over his last three contests so you're going to keep firing him up as a RB1.

  • Posted: 12/22/2018 4:32pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry turned 21 carries into 84 yards and a touchdown Saturday, Dec. 22, versus the Washington Redskins.

Huddle Up: Henry has been one of the fantasy running backs over the final weeks of the season, simultaneously helping fantasy owners in the playoffs and increasing his 2019 outlook. With Dion Lewis still in the mix, though, Henry resides in low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 territory as an altogether inconsistent player.

  • Posted: 12/18/2018 7:19pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry needs to run for 240 yards in Week 16 against the Washington Redskins to set an NFL record (since 1970) for the most rushing yards by one player over a three-game span. O.J. Simpson holds the record with 647.

Huddle Up: A 240-yard day is usually a pipe dream for any running back - even in the best matchup - but Henry rumbled for 238 yards in Week 14 before coming back with 170 in Week 15. Saquon Barkley just gashed the Redskins for 170 yards on the ground in Week 14, so another big day for Henry cannot be ruled out. Either way, the 2015 Heisman Trophy winner obviously needs to be in lineups for the championship game in most fantasy leagues this week.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 2:02pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries against the New York Giants in Week 15.

Huddle Up: Henry has rushed for seven touchdowns in the last three games and will continue to be a main factor in the team's offense. He can be a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 running back in all leagues next week.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 8:22pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 17 times for 238 yards and four touchdowns in a 30-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.

Huddle Up: Henry has been a major disappointment most of the season, but he was apparently saving his energy to cause some serious havoc during the first round of the fantasy playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/5/2018 7:35am ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has a rough matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14 Thursday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: The Jags haven't allowed a touchdown to a running back in the last five weeks, and they've allowed the fewest fantasy points to the position during the stretch. They're also allowing just 3.5 yards per carry. Henry is a flex option with some risk.

  • Posted: 11/26/2018 10:05pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry was held to just 30 rushing yards on eight carries, while adding 19 yards through the air on two receptions in the club's Week 12 defeat Monday, Nov. 26, opposite the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: It was a quiet day at the office for the former Heisman Trophy winner, but on the bright side, he received more rushing attempts than teammate Dion Lewis for the first time in more than a month. Even so, Henry's impact is usually too dependent on game flow or finding the end zone to trust every week.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 2:59pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed nine times for 46 yards in the Week 11 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Huddle Up: Henry averaged 5.1 yards per carry and was off to a decent start, but the Titans lost Marcus Mariota and the offense was thrown into disarray. If Mariota is out in Week 12 on Monday night in Houston, Henry and the run game could be leaned upon a little more.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 5:01pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 11 times for 58 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10 against the New England Patriots and he didn't have a catch.

Huddle Up: Henry has picked up the pace lately, posting at least one touchdown in three straight outings with a total of four scores. the yardage isn't there, but he is re-emerging as a solid RB3 or flex option for the touchdowns. He'll try to keep up the scoring ways in Week 11 at Indianapolis.

  • Posted: 11/5/2018 8:21pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed six times for 27 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, Nov. 5, and he had two catches for five yards.

Huddle Up: Henry was able to find the end zone which is fine, but he had eight total touches to 23 for Dion Lewis. That's terrible for his short-term fantasy appeal. If he continues to see a 30-70 disparity it backfield touches to Lewis, he is barely usable as a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 10 against the New England Patriots.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 9:46am ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. He also caught two passes for 32 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Henry has received at least 10 carries in five of the seven games this season but will continue to share playing time with Dion Lewis moving forward. He could be a flex option against favorable matchups but is not a weekly starting option.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 9:04pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed seven times for 21 yards and caught one pass for five yards in a 21-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

Huddle Up: It was another awful performance for the Tennessee offense as a whole, and Henry hasn't been able to find a rhythm this year. It's hard to drop him, but you should be able to find a better starting option while the Titans try to figure things out on offense.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 1:05pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 11 times for 56 yards in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills and he didn't have a catch on just one target.

Huddle Up: The numbers for Henry aren't impressive, but 5.1 yards per carry is much better than the 2.8 yards per rush that Dion Lewis posted. The latter did have 14 yards on three grabs, but he also lost a fumble, too. Fantasy owners are hoping for some separation in this ongoing battle, and Henry won this week in terms of production.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 4:48pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed eight times for just 24 yards and he added two catches for only seven yards on two targets in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: Henry did nothing, but the good news is that Dion Lewis was unable to run for anything, either. However, Lewis was able to shake free for 66 yards on nine catches. The workload continues to be split down the middle, with Lewis producing more yardage from scrimmage. Henry remains a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy play heading into Week 5 against the Bills.

  • Posted: 9/29/2018 8:10pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry said his 'trash' play this season has not been acceptable. 'I let three go away,' Henry said. 'It has to be different the rest of these games.'

Huddle Up: Henry is averaging 3.0 yards per carry and has yet to find the end zone. He remains Tennessee's lead back, but a Week 4 matchup against a stout Philadelphia run defense makes him a flex option, at best.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 1:16pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed for 57 yards on 18 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Henry did not have much success against the tough Jaguars defense but received at least 10 carries in the third straight game. He appears to be the main option in the running game but may only be a flex option in standard leagues next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Posted: 9/20/2018 1:22pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 20.

Huddle Up: Henry has been sharing carries with Dion Lewis and has rushed for 82 yards on 28 carries in the first two games. He likely would receive a similar workload this week if he plays but may only be a flex option in deeper standard leagues.

  • Posted: 9/19/2018 1:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Huddle Up: The severity of Henry's ailment is not known, and he could just be resting as a precaution to get ready for Week 3. If he is limited or unavailable in the game on Sunday against the Jaguars, it would be Dion Lewis assuming a majority of the reps.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 7:06pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 18 times for 56 yards in the Week 2 game against the Houston Texans .

Huddle Up: Henry expressed his displeasure with his workload in Week 1, and he edged Dion Lewis 18-15 in total touches this week. At this rate he is barely a low-end RB2 in most fantasy leagues. Treat him more as a RB3 or flex fantasy option in Week 3 against the tough Jacksonville defense on the road.

  • Posted: 9/14/2018 9:17am ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry saw 14 snaps in the first quarter in Week 1 versus the Miami Dolphins and only six more the rest of the way, good for only 30 percent of the team's 67 snaps. However, he was less disappointed over his playing time and more upset with performance. 'I felt like it was average, below average, and that's not how I want to play. I have to be better as a player. I definitely need to get it going personally. I need to play better this week, be effective in the running game, make plays, and help open everything else up,' Henry said.

Huddle Up: Henry finished the day with 10 carries for 26 yards, although it should be noted he had a 62-yard touchdown run wiped out by a penalty. There will be better days ahead, if only because every game won't have two weather delays and feature a negative game script. With that said, he's quickly shaping up as a volatile touchdown-dependent - if not game script dependent - RB2 for fantasy purposes.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 6:16pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 10 times for 26 yards in a 27-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Henry struggled to find running room early, and when the Titans fell behind, he took a backseat to Dion Lewis. He's still worth using as a flex option against the Houston Texans in Week 2, but his fantasy value is going to suffer whenever Tennessee is playing from behind.
