Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington rushed seven times for 22 yards in the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys Monday, Dec. 26, and he added one grab for four yards on his two targets.

Huddle Up: Washington was outshined by Zach Zenner, who started hot and saw a bulk of the backfield touches (14), scoring a pair of rushing touchdowns. Washington's fantasy appeal is limited to the deepest of leagues heading into Week 17.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington rushed 16 times for a team-high 64 yards in the Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears and he added one catch for 10 yards on two targets.

Huddle Up: Washington carried the mail with Zach Zenner spelling him for nine touches and Joique Bell seeing one touch. It looks like Washington is the guy in Motown right now, but treat him as a RB3 going forward in most fantasy leagues.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington has been ruled out for Week 8's game against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Washington's name did not appear on the injury report this week, so it appears as though he is a healthy scratch. This could indicate that RB Theo Riddick could see a sizable workload this week and RB Zach Zenner could see extra snaps as well. Riddick should be viewed as a solid RB2 in most fantasy formats, with Zenner possibly being a flex option in deeper leagues.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) is expected to play against the Houston Texans in Week 8.

Huddle Up: Washington may serve as the No. 2 running back if he is active for the game and would see limited touches during the game. He could be a flex option in deeper leagues but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Washington seems to be ready for Week 8 after missing the last three weeks. His fantasy value is still minimal, though, especially if Theo Riddick returns. It's best to wait at least a week to see how Washington does before plugging him into starting lineups right away.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 7's game against the Washington Redskins, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Washington was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the most recent edition of the injury report. Zach Zenner will serve as the lead back for Detroit if Washington is deactivated for Sunday's game. He merits consideration as a bye-week replacement at running back or as a flex option.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

Huddle Up: If Washington is unable to play, Zach Zenner could be a flex candidate as the likely lead back against the Redskins.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Washington was ruled out of the team's Week 6 game but appears to have a chance to play this week. Washington probably would be part of a committee at running back if he is active for the game and could be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle, foot) is expected to play Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams and split carries, according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein.

Huddle Up: The Rams have some injury woes on their defensive line, but it doesn't appear Detroit will be able to take advantage of it. Washington is pushing through multiple sprains and Theo Riddick has already been ruled out, leaving newly signed Justin Forsett as the odds-on favorite to lead this backfield in touches less than a week after joining the club. Washington should be considered no more than a desperation flex play this weekend.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to check the inactive list because Washington likely will have a bigger role if he is active for the game. He could be a flex option in leagues since he probably will see more playing time with Theo Riddick out.

  • Posted: 10/11/2016 1:42pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) is expected to return for the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Oct. 16.

Huddle Up: Washington is a risky fantasy option until his role is clear and his health is proven. There is plenty of upside for him to thrive as a short-yardage, goal-line back, and especially if he earns a decent chunk of the carries. Theo Reddick is best utilized in the passing game, and Justin Forsett isn't a threat to Washington's long-term fantasy stock. It just could be a bit dicey in the short term.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle, foot) left early in Week 4 with a sprained foot and ankle, but he still hopes to play next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: The Lions are in dire straits with their running backs. They've already lost Ameer Abdullah and now Washington is dealing with multiple sprains. He's too risky of a start next week considering his health and the fact that he'd be up against a solid Eagles defense. Theo Riddick should see more action, in theory, while Zach Zenner could pick up some of the ground-and-pound attack. The bottom line, though, is that Riddick is the only trustworthy start out of Detroit's backfield.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington is likely to see more carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 4, in the opinion of beat writer Tim Twentyman. The Bears rank 30th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed.

Huddle Up: This could be the week Washington either breaks out. Theo Riddick should remain heavily involved, but he is more of a receiving back. Both are flex options in fantasy.

  • Posted: 9/27/2016 6:29am ET

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington has emerged into a timeshare with RB Theo Riddick, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.

Huddle Up: Washington showed some flashes behind questionable line play, and his role is growing. He'll be a flex option against the Chicago Bears this week.
