Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 14 times for 42 yards in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Barber saw his three-game touchdown streak dry up and he had another mediocre day in terms of yardage. If he isn't able to find the end zone he is a rather marginal fantasy option. The Bucs travel to meet the Ravens in Week 15.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 1:51pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber racked up 16 rushes for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the Carolina Panthers and he also lost a fumble. Barber has found the end zone in three straight games.

Huddle Up: The touchdown was nice, but the limited yardage and lost fumble cost him some fantasy points. He'll look for better results in Week 14 against the visiting New Orleans Saints. He ran for 69 yards on 19 carries in New Orleans in Week 1.

  • Posted: 11/30/2018 12:06pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 30, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Huddle Up: Barber has been receiving a majority of the carries over the last six games and has two touchdowns in the last two weeks. He can be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in most standard leagues.

  • Posted: 11/29/2018 1:18pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber put in a limited practice Thursday, Nov. 29.

Huddle Up: Barber was full go yesterday, so the limited session is somewhat of a concern. Even if he plays he can't be viewed as more than a flex versus the Carolina Panthers solid rush defense.

  • Posted: 11/28/2018 1:41pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Huddle Up: Barber has run for 153 yards over the past two games, scoring in each outing, making him a solid low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 13. Keep in mind, however, his opponent, the Carolina Panthers, held him to 31 yards on 11 carries in the first matchup back on Nov. 4.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 2:59pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. He also caught two passes for 16 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Barber has received at least 10 carries in each of the last seven games and has a touchdown in each of the last two games. He can be considered a flex option in standard leagues next week.

  • Posted: 11/23/2018 1:59pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Barber is coming off his first 100-yard game of the season and has received at least 10 carries in each of the last six games. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues this week.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 3:55pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 22.

Huddle Up: Barber is coming off his best game of the season and has received at least 10 carries in each of the last six games. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option in leagues this week against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 11/21/2018 4:32pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: Barber showed no signs of declining health when he trampled all over the Giants for his first 100-yard performance of the year. Based on his last several games, it looks like he's finally settling in after a sluggish start and is very much in the RB2 conversation as long as he's active.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 5:08pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 18 times for 106 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for four yards in a 38-35 loss to the New York Giants in Week 11.

Huddle Up: It was Barber's first 100-yard rushing effort of the year and just his second rushing touchdown, so this type of performance won't happen often. He's a volume-based flex play.

  • Posted: 11/15/2018 1:21pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 15.

Huddle Up: Barber has remained the Bucs' starting running back for longer than expected -- partly due to injury -- but he hasn't done much with that opportunity. Only start him as a flex if better players are on a bye.

  • Posted: 11/14/2018 1:29pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle, shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Huddle Up: Circle back and check on Barber on Friday when the official injury designations are revealed. He will be facing the NFL's 25th-ranked rushing defense, so there is opportunity for Barber to be a sneaky RB3 or flex fantasy option ,especially if Ronald Jones continues to be hampered by a hamstring issue.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 6:19pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught one pass for five yards in a 16-3 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 10.

Huddle Up: Barber monopolized the carries, and while he doesn't do a lot in the passing game, he can still be a decent flex play.

  • Posted: 11/8/2018 1:19pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 8.

Huddle Up: Barber is coming off a disappointing Week 9 performance but has received at least 10 carries in each of the last four games. He can still be a flex option for most owners but is not a must-start option in any fantasy league.

  • Posted: 11/7/2018 5:21pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Huddle Up: Barber has been a tremendous disappointment in 2018, logging more than 40 yards in a game only three times this season while managing to get in the end zone just once. At this point, he should only be deployed in deep leagues if he plays.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 2:59pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 11 times for just 31 yards in the Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers and he had just two grabs for nine yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Barber wasn't able to do much against a decent Panthers defense, and the team got away from the run in the second half while playing from behind. He'll look for better results in Week 10 against the Washington Redskins, but he remains more of a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option for that one.

  • Posted: 11/2/2018 12:12pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 2, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Barber will receive most of the playing time at running back this week and has rushed for at least 80 yards in two of the last three games. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/1/2018 12:45pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Barber is coming off a solid Week 8 performance and should receive most of the work at running back with Ronald Jones sidelined. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/31/2018 1:27pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was listed as limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: Check back on Barber's status Friday when the official injury report designations come out. He should be OK, but he'll be facing the league's eighth-ranked rush defense in Carolina.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 3:32pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 19 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Barber was running with authority at times, averaging a respectable 4.5 yards per run. He didn't show any ill effects of the ankle injury which slowed him in practice during the week. Next up is a trip to Carolina in Week 9. He is a respectable RB3 or flex fantasy option in most formats.

  • Posted: 10/26/2018 11:13am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 26, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Barber will continue to be the starting running back for the Bucs but has not had much success in the recent weeks. He will be facing a solid Cincinnati Bengals defense and could be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 10/25/2018 1:57pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 25.

Huddle Up: Barber has not had a lot of success this season and has been held to 35 yards or less in four of the last five games. He is still the starting running back for the Bucs but can be benched if owners have better options available.

  • Posted: 10/24/2018 1:28pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) was off the practice field Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: The severity of Barber's injury hasn't been disclosed, but if he can't practice again tomorrow then his Week 8 availability will be very much in question. Have Ronald Jones ready as a flex if he's available on waivers.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 11:52am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. Head coach Dirk Koetter refused to disclose the nature of the injury.

Huddle Up: It helps to explain why rookie Ronald Jones saw seven touches in the game, including a short scoring plunge late in the third quarter. Jones would be a flex option at best if Barber is forced to miss any games, but owners won't have much to work with regarding Barber's availability until the injury report comes out on Wednesday.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 5:53pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 11 times for just 30 yards in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Barber led the backfield in total touches, but he didn't do much with the opportunity. The good news is that neither of his counterparts did much, either. Barber remains most of a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 8 against the Bengals on the road.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 7:09pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 13 times for 82 yards and caught four passes for 24 yards and a touchdown in a 34-29 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.

Huddle Up: It was Barber's best performance of the season, and while he remains Tampa Bay's lead back, early deficits have forced the Buccaneers to abandon the run in most of their games. A Week 7 matchup with the Cleveland Browns should push Barber into flex territory.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 1:35pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed for 24 yards on seven carries against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

Huddle Up: Barber was facing a tough Bears defense and did not receive a lot of carries with the team trailing for a majority of the game. He should have more success against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 and can be at least a flex option.

  • Posted: 9/24/2018 8:49pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber ran eight times for a team-best 33 yards in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, Sept. 24.

Huddle Up: Barber had a respectable 4.1 yards per carry in the game, but the Bucs abandoned the run rather early with a lopsided score on the board by halftime. It was a pass-happy offense in the second half as the Bucs rallied to get into the game. Barber and the Bucs run game face another tough matchup in Week 4 on the road against the Bears.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 1:29pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed for 69 yards on 19 carries against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Barber received most of the work at running back and likely will receive a similar workload against the Philadelphia Eagles. He can be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option next week.

  • Posted: 8/24/2018 7:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers BR Peyton Barber rushed five times for 34 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions in the preseason Friday, Aug. 24.

Huddle Up: Barber continues to perform well with the starting unit, and while Ronald Jones is going to see some touches, Barber looks poised to open the year as the lead back. He's a RB3 candidate.

  • Posted: 8/19/2018 8:23pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber has performed like a starting running back during the preseason, according to head coach Dirk Koetter. 'He's doing everything he should be doing right now, and I think if we went out there and gave it to Peyton 20 times, we'd like what he does,' Koetter said.

Huddle Up: Barber looks poised to open the year as the starter and should be a RB3 candidate for at least the first several weeks. Ronald Jones will likely earn more snaps as the year goes on, so grabbing Jones a few rounds after selecting Barber isn't a bad idea.

  • Posted: 8/18/2018 8:47pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed six times for a team-high 32 yards and caught one pass for three yards in a 30-14 preseason win over the Tennessee Titans Saturday, Aug. 18.

Huddle Up: Ronald Jones is lurking, but Barber seems locked into the starting role for now and could be a RB3 to start the year. Pairing Barber with Jones might be a solid strategy in case Jones eventually overtakes Barber.

  • Posted: 8/13/2018 10:43am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber is currently considered the team's starting running back, according to head coach Dirk Koetter. Koetter said the team also plans to use RB Ronald Jones this season but thought Jones' performance in the first preseason game was average.

Huddle Up: Barber may be the starter but will be sharing touches with Jones and Jacquizz Rodgers. There is a good chance that Jones will take over the starting job at some point during the 2018 season. Barber could be a No. 3 fantasy running back at this point, but owners may also want to select Jones if they draft Barber.

  • Posted: 6/1/2018 8:32pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber said he turned his excess fat into muscle this offseason, and running backs coach Tim Spencer said Barber appears faster and more agile.

Huddle Up: Although Tampa Bay added Ronald Jones in the draft, Barber is still a good bet to see carries on early downs and near the goal line. He's a risky RB3.

  • Posted: 5/9/2018 7:14am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber will likely share the load with RB Ronald Jones to start the season with RB Jacquizz Rodgers and RB Charles Sims behind them.

Huddle Up: Barber seems like a placeholder for now, and if Jones can learn the offense and pick up pass protection quickly, it could be a matter of time before Barber is usurped. Barber is an RB3 in fantasy, but he has a caution sign on him.

  • Posted: 3/27/2018 9:34am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber is the starting running back 'right now' and the team's confidence in him is 'high,' according to head coach Dirk Koetter.

Huddle Up: Barber was solid for the Bucs near the end of the season, but they need to aim higher if they want to put a spark back into an offense that disappointed last season. Koetter loves the vertical passing game and has all the ingredients necessary to have a successful one except a running back that can put some fear into defenses on play-action. If a top-five back like LSU's Derrius Guice or Georgia's Sony Michel is still on the board in the second round next month, don't be surprised to see Tampa Bay make the pick.

  • Posted: 3/13/2018 6:53am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers exclusive rights free-agent RB Peyton Barber signed a one-year, $630,000 deal with the Buccaneers Tuesday, March 13.

Huddle Up: Barber is in line to start, but the team is probably looking to add depth at the position. Barber could be worth an RB3 pickup if major changes don't come.

  • Posted: 1/10/2018 8:18pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber 'will be right there' in regards to his status of possibly being the club's lead running back going into 2018, according to head coach Dirk Koetter, and it will 'definitely be a consideration.'

Huddle Up: Barber opened many eyes in his second year in the NFL. The undrafted running back out of Auburn gained 335 yards on 78 carries over the final five games when he got extended run, and with Doug Martin scuffling for a variety of reasons, it would seem Barber has established himself as a fixture in Tampa Bay's running game to open up 2018. However, there's still a chance the Bucs may address the position during the offseason as well.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 1:42pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber had a team-high 13 rushes for 51 yards in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers while adding two receptions for four yards on his two targets.

Huddle Up: Barber was the lead back in the Tampa backfield despite the fact Doug Martin, Charles Sims and Jacquizz Rodgers were also active. He could be the back the Buccaneers lean upon heading into 2018 and beyond, but at this point it's anyone's guess.

  • Posted: 12/18/2017 10:14pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber amassed 53 rushing yards on 13 carries, as well as 15 receiving yards on three receptions in the team's Week 15 loss Monday, Dec. 18, versus the Atlanta Falcons. In addition, he lost a fumble.

Huddle Up: Barber got the start with Doug Martin being inactive due to a violation of team rules but didn't churn out much with the opportunity. In his defense, quarterback Jameis Winston was simply outstanding, so it made sense to stick to the passing game. Barber has shown plenty of RB2 potential, however, and should sustain that status if he keeps getting the bulk of the work in Tampa Bay's backfield.

  • Posted: 12/18/2017 2:57pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber is expected to be the team's starting running back against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Barber has recorded 160 yards over the last two games and probably will receive most of the carries against the Falcons. He will still share playing time with the other running backs on the roster but could be a flex option in deeper leagues.
