Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes finished 28-of-39 for 358 yards and four touchdowns to go along with one interception in Week 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Mahomes added 45 yards on four carries.

Huddle Up: Mahomes really didn't have to do much on three of his four scores, as Kareem Hunt powered his way into the end zone for the first two and Tyreek Hill gave himself about two or three yards of separation on his final score. The second-year quarterback forced an underthrow into what amounted to be triple coverage to Hill for his lone miscue, but there's not much else he didn't right. Riding a streak of six consecutive 300-yard passing games, Mahomes will be an elite option once again in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes finished 23-of-36 for 352 yards and four touchdowns to go along with a pair of interceptions in Week 6 versus the New England Patriots. He added two carries for nine yards.

Huddle Up: Mahomes threw all four of his touchdowns in the second half, giving him three such games through six starts this season. He broke through the glass ceiling in this contest with a 67-yard hookup with Kareem Hunt on the first drive in the third quarter before connecting with Tyreek Hill three times over the final 16 minutes. With 20 total touchdowns to his name through so far, Mahomes is about as must-start as they get in fantasy, including in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes faces the New England Patriots in Week 6, and the last eight quarterbacks to face the Patriots with fewer than 10 career starts under their belts have gone a combined 0-8 with six touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Huddle Up: Bill Belichick knows how to make life tough on rookie quarterbacks, but unless you happen to have two elite quarterbacks on your roster, you can't bench Mahomes in Week 6. The Kansas City offense looks too good right now.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 6:51pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 22-of-38 passes for 313 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, although he did rush for a score.

Huddle Up: Mahomes is human after all. After tossing 13 pass TDs over his first three games, he has just one passing score and two interceptions over his past two outings. He is still working on a streak of four straight 300-yard games and he has rushed for a score in two in a row, so there's that. Next up is a Sunday Night Football road date with Tom Brady and the Patriots in Week 6.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 28-of-45 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos on Monday, Oct. 1. He added a rushing score, too.

Huddle Up: Mahomes went over 300 yards on his final throw of the game, which helped set up the Chiefs for a game-winning TD run by Kareem Hunt with 1:40 to go in the fourth quarter. He has gone over 300 yards in each of his past three outings, although this game marked his first time with just one TD pass. He made up for it with the running score, however. The Chiefs will be tested by the strong defense of the Jaguars in Week 5.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 24-of-38 passes for 314 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 3 win against the San Francisco 49ers. He now holds the NFL record with 13 TD passes through the first three games of a season.

Huddle Up: Mahomes continues to set records on a regular basis, as he is showing no signs of slowing down in a potent Kansas City offense. The single-season record for TD passes in a season was 55, set by Peyton Mannng in 2013. At this rate Mahomes could flirt with that number, although he has to slow down at some point, doesn't he?

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 3:16pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 23-of-28 passes for 326 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 2 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has 10 TDs through two games, most in NFL history to start a season.

Huddle Up: Mahomes is making Kansas City brass look wise for parting with Alex Smith to open up the starting job for the former Texas Tech gunslinger. He'll look to keep it rolling heading into Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 7:12pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 15-of-27 passes for 256 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Huddle Up: Mahomes got the ball early and often to Tyreek Hill, and that's about the smartest thing you can do. The receiver averaged 24.1 yards per catch while gathering in two of Mahomes' four TD strikes. If he keeps up at this pace he'll be fantasy elite before too long. Mahomes will try and keep it going in Week 2 on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Posted: 8/25/2018 1:07pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 196 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 25 against the Chicago Bears.

Huddle Up: Mahomes has a big arm and plenty of athleticism, and he should be considered a high-end QB2 with some upside. There will likely be some growing pains along the way, but he'll be an especially popular streaming option once the bye weeks kick in and primary starters are out.

  • Posted: 8/17/2018 6:48pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed eight of his 12 passes for 138 yards, a touchdown and an interception and rushed twice for eight yards against the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason Friday, Aug. 17.

Huddle Up: Mahomes showed off his big arm and his athleticism, dangling his upside in front of fantasy owners. Surrounded by weapons, Mahomes has tons of upside as a QB2.

  • Posted: 8/14/2018 11:43am ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and the first-team offense will play the whole first half in Week 2 of the preseason, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Huddle Up: Mahomes will be given meaningful playing time for the first time since Week 17 of last season. He'll need it, too, to shake off rust and develop more fluidity with his supporting cast. His dual-threat ability gives him high-end QB2 appeal.

  • Posted: 8/1/2018 11:28am ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes made a handful of miscues in practice again Wednesday, Aug. 1, and he now has seven interceptions through six camp practices. 'He had a few hiccups today,' offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said. 'But that's a part of the process. When you're young you need those hiccups because they become valuable lessons.'

Huddle Up: All indications are that Mahomes is also making plenty of big plays, too. He is trying to break the stigma that Texas Tech quarterbacks are system guys, and Red Raiders cannot play at the next level. It's something Zebbie Lethridge, Kliff Kingsbury, B.J. Symons, Graham Harrell, Sonny Cumbie, Seth Doege and, to this point, Davis Webb haven't been able to shake. The last effective NFL QB from Texas Tech dates back to Billy Joe Tolliver in the late 80's. Mahomes looks to have plenty of upside, but he remains a high-risk, high-reward QB2 in redraft leagues for now.

  • Posted: 6/30/2018 9:17pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is a 'complete player,' according to free-agent LB Tamba Hali (Chiefs). 'He can throw the ball,' Hali said. 'Athletically, he's gifted. You don't have to coach it. In practice, I'd watch him just look guys off.'

Huddle Up: Mahomes is a high-risk, high-reward QB2 in redraft leagues, but he has the physical tools, the coaching staff and weapons around him to be an impact fantasy option sooner rather than later.

  • Posted: 5/25/2018 7:21pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' struggles during OTAs are nothing to be worried about, according to head coach Andy Reid. 'We throw in a lot of new stuff so you want to test what you can get away with in these camps, so you're going to have interceptions,' Reid said. 'That doesn't bother me.'

Huddle Up: Mahomes is unproven as he enters his first season as the starter, but he has a big arm and plenty of weapons around him. He will be a high-risk, high-reward QB2.

  • Posted: 2/2/2018 8:10pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is 'way ahead of schedule' in his development, according to one of his coaches.

Huddle Up: The Chiefs put their faith in Mahomes when they dealt Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins this week. Mahomes has a huge arm, and he'll be a QB2 in 2018 with tons of upside, especially in keeper formats.

  • Posted: 2/1/2018 8:47pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce said that he knows QB Patrick Mahomes is 'ready for the opportunity' and that the club can 'without a doubt' win a championship with Mahomes under center. 'He can throw the ball any way, he can throw it off his back foot and he can jump and throw, he can throw the ball anywhere, any way you need for it to be thrown,' Kelce added. 'His confidence is definitely one of the best attributes to his game.'

Huddle Up: One of the biggest transitions in all of football next season will see how the Chiefs fare moving on from Alex Smith to Mahomes, their 2017 first-round pick whom they drafted out of Texas Tech. The 22-year-old received one start in his rookie campaign -- a meaningless Week 17 tilt in Denver -- and didn't disappoint, racking up 284 yards on 62.9 percent passing. While his ceiling is high, he'll begin the season as more of an option for two-quarterback formats.

  • Posted: 1/31/2018 7:48am ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is expected to enter the 2018 season as the starter with the trade of QB Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins.

Huddle Up: Mahomes has a big arm, and the combination of him and Tyreek Hill is tantalizing. He'll be a QB2 in fantasy with some upside.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 9:59am ET

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced QB Patrick Mahomes will make his first career start in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos.

Huddle Up: It's a smart move by the Chiefs, who are locked into the fourth seed in the AFC and have nothing to gain by rolling out Alex Smith. The rookie is blessed with the rocket arm and has drawn both good and bad comparisons to Brett Favre, but he's in for a tough first start against a revitalized Denver defense. He's a QB2 at best in Week 17.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 8:08am ET

The Kansas City Chiefs are still planning to have QB Patrick Mahomes take a 'redshirt season' this year, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, although the idea of him making an appearance in a game has not been taken off the table.

Huddle Up: Mahomes is running the scout team in practice and hasn't run the team's plays at full speed since the fourth week of the preseason, so starting QB Alex Smith doesn't appear to be in imminent danger of losing his job. Mahomes only has fantasy value in dynasty and keeper leagues at this point.
