Huddle Up: Jones has been out for about a week now. The longer he is idle the more concern grows. He's suspended for the first two games of the season, so he does have more time to recover. In the meantime, Jamaal Williams looks like a decent mid-round value pick and deserves more attention than he's receiving after scoring six times and totaling 818 yards as a rookie.

Huddle Up: Jones hoped to return to practice by this time, but it appears he needs more time to heal from his injury. He is competing for the starting job and should have a solid role even if he does not start. He has a chance to be a No. 3 running back in some leagues.

Huddle Up: Jones is expected to be part of a committee this season, but his role is still uncertain at this point. Owners should monitor the situation during the preseason to see how he will be used on offense. He could be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy running back depending on his role.

Huddle Up: Jones will miss the first two games, but his versatility gives him the best shot to come out ahead of the committee with Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery. Jones is an RB3 with boom-or-bust potential.

Huddle Up: Courtney cites Jones' talent, favorably comparing his stats to those of Minnesota's Dalvin Cook, and the endorsement of Aaron Rodgers as the reasons that Jones will eventually become Green Bay's RB1. Between his two-game suspension and durability concerns dating back to UTEP, however, Jones still carries plenty of downside. Consider him a mid-round stash candidate.

Huddle Up: Jones was considered by many to be the best running back among Green Bay's backfield triumvirate. He still can be, but Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery have gained a little more value with Jones out two games. All three of them are now mid-round options.
Posted: 6/27/2018 11:32pm ET
Huddle Up: There's no doubt that keeping Aaron Rodgers healthy is the top priority in Green Bay, so Jones' shortcomings in that area could absolutely impact his fantasy value. While everyone is expecting a committee, it figures to be a fluid situation and one that should be monitored throughout the preseason.
Posted: 3/1/2018 11:17pm ET
Huddle Up: The takeaway from this is that Jones will most likely face some sort of disciplinary action from the NFL under its substance-abuse policy. It would be unfortunate if this ultimately costs him playing time, too, as Jones enjoyed a fine rookie campaign for a fifth-round draft pick, finishing second on the club in carries and yards, and he also tied for the team lead in rushing touchdowns. He also averaged 5.5 yards per carry, so there is potential for the 23-year-old.

Huddle Up: Jones had a few good games this season but lost his job and could be the No. 3 running back in 2018. Owners should keep an eye on his situation next season because he could be a late-round option in deeper leagues if he has a solid role.
Posted: 12/28/2017 3:31pm ET
Huddle Up: With nothing to play for, the Packers might opt to hold Jones out, especially if he's not able to make it onto the practice field before the weekend. Even if he is active on Sunday, he'd be a very weak play, as Jamaal Williams is expected to dominate the work in the backfield no matter what.
Posted: 12/23/2017 7:37pm ET
Huddle Up: Jamaal Williams should have the backfield all to himself for the remainder of the game, and if Jones can't play in the finale, Williams should be a solid flex play against the Detroit Lions.
Posted: 12/23/2017 6:47pm ET
Huddle Up: Jamaal Williams has already been serving as the lead back, and if Jones can't return, Williams should be in line for almost all the snaps the rest of the way against the Vikings and potentially in Week 17.
Posted: 12/17/2017 3:29pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones has not had nearly as many touches as Jamaal Williams over the past few games, but he has made the most of his touches and likely is carving out a bigger role going forward. The Vikings represent a difficult matchup on a short week Saturday in Week 16.
Posted: 12/10/2017 4:23pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones did nothing while Jamaal Williams totaled 22 touches, 118 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. If you were depending on Jones to be the bellcow in Green Bay, it doesn't appear that will be the case into Week 15 and beyond.
Posted: 12/3/2017 4:11pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones showed nice burst on the game-winning run, and he'll likely be used in some sort of timeshare with Jamaal Williams going forward.
Posted: 12/3/2017 9:05am ET
Huddle Up: Jones will share time in the backfield with Jamaal Williams, although the latter is expected to see a greater number of carries. Both players should be considered as nothing more than flex options this week.
Posted: 12/2/2017 9:24pm ET
Huddle Up: Although Jones is expected play, Jamaal Williams is expected to see plenty of work. The two backs will steal some thunder from one another, pushing both into flex territory.
Posted: 12/1/2017 2:26pm ET
Huddle Up: If Jones is able to play, he would join Jamaal Williams in the backfield. Both running backs no longer have to worry about the return of Ty Montgomery (ribs), as he landed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday.
Posted: 11/30/2017 1:22pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones' status for Week 13 is still uncertain, so owners will need to continue to monitor the situation. He could be limited if he is active for the game, so owners should avoid Jones for at least one more week.
Posted: 11/30/2017 8:56am ET
Huddle Up: Jones' return would hurt Jamaal Williams' fantasy stock this week, but he doesn't hold a lot of value of his own just yet. Stay tuned to today's practice for a better prognosis of the backfield against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Posted: 11/27/2017 3:57pm ET
Huddle Up: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Jones has a chance to play in Week 13 after missing a few games because of his injury. He would be a risky option if he is active this week and could see limited snaps. Owners may want to have other options ready in case Jones sits again.
Posted: 11/24/2017 2:12pm ET
Huddle Up: With Jones out and Ty Montgomery (ribs) also unlikely to play, Jamaal Williams will be worth looking at it in all leagues. He's registered more than 20 carries in each of his last two games, but with a matchup on tap in Pittsburgh, there's a good chance the Packers could be getting blown out for the majority of the night and then have to pass to catch up. Owners might want to pass on Green Bay's running game situation as a result.
Posted: 11/22/2017 2:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Both Jones and Ty Montgomery didn't play last week, paving the way for Jamaal Williams to be featured in Green Bay's backfield. It's looking like that may be the case this week as well, but check on Jones and Montgomery before kickoff this weekend. If they are out, Williams will be a viable starter once again.
Posted: 11/20/2017 9:14am ET
Huddle Up: Jones is expected to miss two to five more weeks with an MCL injury in his knee. Jamaal Williams is an RB2 in Jones and Ty Montgomery's (ribs) absence.
Posted: 11/16/2017 10:46am ET
Huddle Up: If Jones misses practice tomorrow odds are he won't be taking the field this weekend. That goes for his counterpart Ty Montgomery, too. Jamaal Williams stands to see the majority of touches out the backfield if neither one can go and deserves RB2 consideration.
Posted: 11/15/2017 12:56pm ET
Huddle Up: Prospects don't look promising for either Jones or fellow running back Ty Montgomery this week. Jamaal Williams is ready to literally carry the load if both backs can't play. Williams saw 20 carries last week, and while he didn't do much with them, he'll be a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 candidate if receives the same kind of workload.
Posted: 11/13/2017 9:27am ET
Huddle Up: Ty Montgomery (ribs) also left the game due to injury, which left Jamaal Williams as the lead running back. Williams ran hard with 20 carries for 67 yards and caught a seven-yard pass. Williams has a midrange matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 if Montgomery can't go, and he'd be a worthy flex play.
Posted: 11/12/2017 10:26am ET
Huddle Up: Owners should monitor the situation to see how long Jones may be sidelined. Ty Montgomery likely will receive most of the work at running back and can be at least a flex option if Jones is out for an extended period of time.
Posted: 11/6/2017 9:52pm ET
Huddle Up: This was easily the rookie's worst game of his freshman campaign, which is especially disappointing after he recorded an eye-opening 131 yards on the ground just a week ago. However, an up-and-down trend from Jones isn't all that surprising with Aaron Rodgers sidelined for the remainder of the year. Owners just have to accept his volatile production whenever he's in fantasy lineups.
Posted: 10/22/2017 2:59pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones received most of the carries during the game and appears to be the team's main running back. He may get more touches because of the change at quarterback and should be a weekly starting option for owners.
Posted: 10/15/2017 3:57pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones took a giant step back on Sunday, as the Green Bay offense was out of whack with Aaron Rodgers exiting early due to injury and Ty Montgomery also back from an injury. Jones and the run game should be relied upon more heavily in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints with Rodgers expected to be out.
Posted: 10/8/2017 8:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones made the most of his chance to lead the backfield, and even when Ty Montgomery is able to return, Jones has likely earned himself the backup role. If Jones is still available in your league, grab him off waivers heading into Week 6.
Posted: 9/28/2017 10:35pm ET
Huddle Up: Jones stepped in when injuries claimed both Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, and he acquitted himself nicely, running hard and punching it in from two yards out to put the Packers up 21-0. Keep an eye out for medical updates on Montgomery and Williams, and be ready to scoop up Jones if it sounds like they'll miss time.
