Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas posted five grabs for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints on seven targets.

Huddle Up: Thomas emerged as a useful fantasy option in deeper leagues down the stretch, taking over for the injured Greg Olsen (foot). If the team moves on from Olsen, Thomas has TE1 potential heading into 2019 since tight end is a big part of Carolina's offense.

Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas finished with four grabs, 48 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Huddle Up: Thomas has stepped up since Greg Olsen (foot) went down, and he looks like the heir apparent at the position, perhaps start in 2019 if the Panthers go another way with Olsen.

Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas reeled in two of four targets for 14 receiving yards in the club's Week 15 loss Monday, Dec. 17, versus the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Thomas appeared to be a sneaky streaming option going into Week 15 after the rookie tight end amassed 14 catches for 123 yards over the previous two weeks. However, it would not work out, and this type of outing indicates Thomas belongs on the waiver wire as the fantasy postseason winds down.

Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas posted a game highs with nine receptions and 11 targets in the Week 14 road loss against the Cleveland Browns, finishing with 77 yards.

Huddle Up: Thomas was making the start with Greg Olsen (foot) done for the season and Thomas was a nice security blanket for Cam Newton. He might be the future in Charlotte at the position, and is a decent short-term PPR target if you need help at tight end. The Panthers host the Saints in Week 15 on Monday night.

Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas registered five catches for 46 yards on five targets in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: Thomas was the next man up after Greg Olsen suffered yet another injury to his foot. It's uncertain if Olsen will be forced to miss more time, but with the Panthers skidding out of control and perhaps out of the playoff race, it wouldn't be surprising to see more Thomas and less Olsen going forward.

The Carolina Panthers selected Indiana TE Ian Thomas with the 101st overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft Saturday, April 28.

Huddle Up: Thomas likely will serve as the No. 2 tight end for the Panthers and could take over the starting position when Greg Olsen retires. He probably will not have much value in standard leagues but should have value in keeper leagues.
