Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds said he sees himself taking on a role similar to that of Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen rather than a copy of RB David Johnson.

Huddle Up: Edmonds is coming off of a two-touchdown performance, but he has only been seeing a handful of touches per game. He is simply a handcuff to Johnson at this point.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds ran five times for 53 yards and two touchdowns in Week 13 against the Detroit Lions and he added two grabs for 13 yards.

Huddle Up: The rookie out of Fordham had not visiting the end zone all season and his previous best from scrimmage was 48 total yards set back in Week 1. He is a player to watch, especially for those in dynasty leagues, but he has little short-term value as long as David Johnson remains healthy.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds rushed 11 times for 55 yards and caught two passes for eight yards in a 27-3 preseason win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Aug. 26.

Huddle Up: Edmonds enjoyed a strong offseason and the momentum has continued in the preseason. He is expected to be the backup to David Johnson, so Johnson's owners should try to grab Edmonds later in drafts as a handcuff.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds is looking like the favorite to be the No. 2 running back behind RB David Johnson, according to beat writer Katherine Fitzgerald. Edmonds has seen a lot of work with the first- and second-team offenses. 'The one thing with Chase, great patience. You saw it today,' head coach Steve Wilks said. 'He's just really savvy, just really allowing his blocks to set up, and he has tremendous speed once he gets to the second level.'

Huddle Up: Johnson is coming off a yearlong absence, and the team could install Edmonds in to spell him early and often. He is at least great insurance for DJ owners, but Edmonds holds RB5 value on his own.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds is being taught to be a 'three-down back,' according to head coach Steve Wilks, and Wilks said Edmonds is learning to play in space and learning pass protections.

Huddle Up: There has been a decent amount of buzz regarding Edmonds this spring, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him open the season as the primary backup to David Johnson. If that happens, Johnson owners should make sure to secure Edmonds as a handcuff.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Fordham RB Chase Edmonds with the 134th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft Saturday, April 28.

Huddle Up: Edmonds likely will not receive a lot of touches as long as David Johnson is healthy. He likely will not have much fantasy value as a rookie.
