Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman rushed six times for 20 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for six yards against the Chicago Bears in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 18.

Huddle Up: Freeman is likely going to be in a committee with Devontae Booker, but if Saturday's game was any indication, Freeman could be in line for carries near the goal line. He's worth a look as a RB3 in redraft leagues, and he is worthy of a first-round pick in rookie drafts.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman 'will be the primary back before too long,' according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold.

Huddle Up: Legwold cautions this news might not mean Freeman will see 250 carries, but he's going to get work, already blocks well enough to play on third down and is the favorite to get red zone chances. Devontae Booker is going to mix in to be sure, but it sounds as if the rookie now has a realistic shot of becoming the next C.J. Anderson in this offense. Freeman is starting to sound as if he could be a strong value pick in the fifth round.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman rushed four times for 38 yards and a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 11.

Huddle Up: Freeman and Devontae Booker are likely to be the main cogs in a committee this year, but Freeman showcased why many believe he will be leading the backfield when all is said and done. He's a RB3 candidate in redraft leagues.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman 'catches the ball well,' according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Huddle Up: Freeman is already expected to see his share of carries on early downs, and if he can contribute in the passing game, it will only improve his chances of becoming the unquestioned lead back. He's a RB3 candidate in redraft leagues and a first-round pick in rookie drafts.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman will be given every opportunity to earn the starting job, according to retired SS Steve Atwater.

Huddle Up: Freeman will have to contend with Devontae Booker, but Booker hasn't exactly shown much upside. Don't be surprised if Freeman ends up handling a lot of early-down work. He's a RB3 candidate in redraft leagues and is locked in as a first-round prospect in rookie drafts.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman is signing his four-year rookie deal Thursday, July 5, according to a source. The deal includes a $997,020 signing bonus, but other financial terms were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Freeman is poised to take over the starting job in Denver's backfield, but he'll need to fend off Devontae Booker in training camp and the preseason. At least look for Freeman to see the majority of carries en route to a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 rookie campaign.

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman has the opportunity to be the team's lead back, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Huddle Up: The Broncos haven't had a back carry the ball 250 times since 2004, and Freeman would likely share the load with Devontae Booker. If Freeman is able to grab at least a 50-50 split, he'll be an RB3 in fantasy.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman has a chance to do 'Kareem Hunt type things,' according to Bucky Brooks of NFL.com.

Huddle Up: Freeman should at least be part of the running back rotation in Denver, and he has a decent chance to emerge as the lead back, especially on early downs. If he breaks camp as the starter, he is worth grabbing as a RB3, and he is a potential first-round pick in rookie drafts regardless.

The Denver Broncos selected Oregon RB Royce Freeman with the 71st overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Huddle Up: Freeman goes to a team in need of running back depth, and he forced the fourth-most missed tackles in the 2018 draft class. He is elusive, and will help the Broncos replace C.J. Anderson.
