Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers. With the score, Witten broke a tie with Michael Irvin for sole possession of third-place on the club's all-time receiving touchdowns list.

Huddle Up: Witten has posted 54 or more yards in four of his six outings and he has scored three times. After a couple of poor performances it appears Witten can once again be trusted as a low-end TE1 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 8 against the Redskins.

  • Posted: 10/9/2017 4:41am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten caught eight of his 10 targeted passes for 61 yards in a 35-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Oct. 8.

Huddle Up: It was a better performance than last week, when Witten was held to one catch. Still, QB Dak Prescott has so many targets on the field you have to wonder how Witten will do. He remains a decent TE1 option moving forward, but keep an eye on his matchups.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 5:23pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted just one grab for nine yards on two targets in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: It was a very disappointing game for Witten, as fantasy owners expected big things against a leaky Rams pass defense. What's worse, fantasy owners had to endure seeing James Hanna celebrating a 28-yard touchdown instead of Witten on the highlights. Witten will look to get on track in Week 5 against the Packers.

  • Posted: 9/20/2017 9:45pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten leads all players at his position with 22 targets through the first two weeks, with the next-closest being Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz, having logged 18 targets. Witten has turned all those throws his way into 17 catches for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Huddle Up: Without question, the future Hall-of-Fame tight end is one of the most underrated in the league, having not even missed a game since his rookie year -- way back in 2003! -- and he's accumulated more than 60 catches in each of his 13 seasons since. He's currently on pace to rack up 176 targets, which would be a career high, and while he probably won't come close to that, Witten is proving that he can still serve as a capable TE1 in any fantasy league.

  • Posted: 9/17/2017 8:45pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted game highs with 10 catches and 97 yards in Week 2 at Denver and he scored a touchdown with 13 targets.

Huddle Up: Dak Prescott was looking Witten's way early and often, as the tight end benefited from a lopsided score in the second half with a heavy workload and no runs. He is off to a great start for fantasy owners through two games. He'll try to keep it rolling in Week 3 at Arizona on Monday Night Football.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 10:05pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted seven receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Giants. He became the franchise's all-time leader in receiving yardage (11,094), passing Michael Irvin.

Huddle Up: Witten started off strong, as he and Dak Prescott had a good thing going with the Giants mostly taking Dez Bryant out of the plan. He'll look to carry over the momentum into Week 2 in Denver.

  • Posted: 7/26/2017 12:43pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant and TE Jason Witten will not participate in practice Wednesday, July 26. Head coach Jason Garrett said he wants the veteran players to have a regular schedule during training camp that will not wear them out.

Huddle Up: Bryant and Witten probably will receive days off during the regular season as well because the team wants them to stay healthy. Both players will have big roles in the Cowboys passing game in 2017. Bryant should be considered a No. 1 receiver in all fantasy leagues, while Witten probably should be a low-end No. 1 or No. 2 tight end.

  • Posted: 3/28/2017 8:17am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten signed a four-year extension through 2021 Tuesday, March 28.

Huddle Up: Witten had a 69-673-3 season last year and turns 35 in May. He's still a solid PPR receiver, but his yardage and scoring numbers leave a bit to be desired. He's a top-end TE2 with the potential for a splash week or two.

  • Posted: 2/28/2017 4:59pm ET

The Dallas Cowboys are in no rush to talk to TE Jason Witten about a contract extension as he enters the final season of his five-year, $37 million deal, according to team executive vice president Stephen Jones.

Huddle Up: Witten said earlier this month he wasn't anticipating an extension and it shouldn't come as a surprise since he turns 35 in May. While he hasn't stretched the seam for years and incapable of creating big plays at this point of his career, Witten gives the Cowboys a reliable option who hasn't missed a game since his rookie season in 2003. In fantasy, he's a high-end TE2 with slightly more appeal in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 2/3/2017 1:26pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten said he does not expect to receive a contract extension this offseason even though he is entering the final year of his contract. Witten said he is taking things year-to-year and is not sure how much longer he will play.

Huddle Up: Witten finished the 2016 season with 673 yards and three touchdowns. His receiving yards was his lowest total since his rookie season. Witten will continue to be a part of the passing game next season but probably should only be considered a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 tight end in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/16/2017 6:51am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten plans to return in 2017 for his 15th season.

Huddle Up: Witten will be 35 in May and had a decent 69-673-3 campaign in 2016. He'll be a midrange PPR tight end with minimal upside.

  • Posted: 1/15/2017 5:59pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten had six catches for 59 yards and his first postseason touchdown in a 34-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Jan. 15.

Huddle Up: Witten can still be counted on for a handful of catches per game, but he does his damage on underneath coverage and offers little upside. Draft him as a TE2 in 2017.

  • Posted: 1/15/2017 9:11am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten has not caught a touchdown in any of his seven career playoffs games.

Huddle Up: Witten has posted solid receiving numbers in his previous playoff games and should see a solid amount of targets against the Green Bay Packers. He should be considered a No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues even if he does not score a touchdown.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 9:45pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted two receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Dec. 26. He was targeted four times.

Huddle Up: Witten scored his first touchdown since Week 9 in Cleveland. He remains a decent low-end TE1 heading in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams for those playing into Week 17.

  • Posted: 12/19/2016 5:33am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten had 10 catches for 51 yards Sunday, Dec. 18, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: It's a great line in PPR leagues, but it's a little disappointing outside of such formats. Witten has a 66-630-2 line on the season, and he's still serviceable in PPR leagues but pretty average overall.

  • Posted: 12/6/2016 3:37pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (11,768) needs 137 yards to pass retired WR Michael Irvin (11,904) for the most receiving yards in franchise history.

Huddle Up: Witten seemingly always does damage against the rival Giants, and with this record in sight, it's feasible to believe the 14-year veteran can perhaps come close to that mark this upcoming Sunday night. Despite seeing his streak of 130 consecutive games with at least one reception get snapped last Thursday, Witten is still worth plugging in as a TE1 for many leagues.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 9:49pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten did not catch a pass in a 17-15 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13, snapping a 130-game streak that dated back to 2008.

Huddle Up: Witten has been held under 40 yards in each of the last three games, and while he probably won't be held without a catch again, he is no more than a TE2.
