Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson could line up in the slot at times this season.

Huddle Up: With a bevy of big receivers, the Bucs can move their pieces around and create a variety of mismatches for opposing defenses. Jackson, though, is coming off four-year lows in receiving yards (1,002) and TD catches (2) and could be in line for a slight bump -- especially in the scoring department -- with teams now having to pay more attention to second-year wideout Mike Evans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson is lining up in multiple spots in offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's offense. 'Dirk is having some fun moving me around and playing me in multiple places, and it's been fun for me, too,'' Jackson said. 'It's fun to play inside (in the slot) and outside, to be able stretch the field and cross the field. 'That's what's good about this system. We're going to put the ball all over the place. The (running) backs, the tight ends, everybody's going to be involved and that should make it fun for all of us.'

Huddle Up: It's easy to get excited about Mike Evans, and the Bucs have theoretically upgraded at quarterback with Jameis Winston. But lost in the shuffle is what Jackson can bring to the table in this offense--especially if he's being developed as Koetter's multi-purpose tool in the improved Tampa Bay offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson was not asked to take a pay cut this season, despite a previous report that he had been asked to do so. Jackson is still expected to return this season.

Huddle Up: Seems silly for the Bucs to jettison a veteran receiver when they're likely adding a rookie quarterback with the first overall pick. There appear to be no cap hurdles to keeping V-Jax, so unless the Bucs start spending in free agency and need to create more room expect Jackson to play under his existing deal.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson will return in 2016, according to general manager Jason Licht. Licht said he will meet with Jackson's agent during the NFL Combine this week, probably to request to restructure Jackson's $9.77 million salary.

Huddle Up: Jackson may not want to restructure his deal, so it's not a done deal he returns to Tampa Bay. But with the Bucs likely drafting a rookie quarterback it would make sense to give him as many weapons to work with as possible, as opposed to nickel and diming V-Jax out of town.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (rib) fully practiced Friday, Oct. 31, and is probable for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Jackson has been inconsistent this year playing in the Bucs up-and-down passing game but he has a good matchup this week against a shaky Cleveland secondary. Jackson could be in line for a strong performance.

  • Posted: 10/20/2014 8:31pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson's name came up over the weekend in reports that the team was fielding phone calls from interested teams, but head coach Lovie Smith said Monday, Oct. 20, that the team isn't interested in trading their star receiver.

Huddle Up: Jackson is averaging 10 targets a game, which ranks sixth among WRs, but only has caught 25 of the 60 passes thrown his way for 344 yards and 2 TDs. Still, that might have as much to do with the team's struggles at QB and other areas, and V-Jax remains one of the few valuable commodities the 1-5 Bucs possess.

  • Posted: 10/14/2014 8:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson is fifth among wide receivers in targets (60) but has converted just 25 of them into catches.

Huddle Up: The Bucs' downer of a season certainly applies to V-Jax, who's tied for 30th among fantasy wideouts with 46 points in standard-scoring leagues. At least, though, he's still getting the looks, and maybe the passing offense can work out some of the kinks during the bye this week.

  • Posted: 10/10/2014 6:39pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (rib) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 10, and is questionable for Week 6.

Huddle Up: Good news for Jackson's fantasy owners as Mike Glennon's favorite target returned to the field Friday after sitting out Wed. and Thur., but they're still going to need to check his status before kickoff Sunday.

  • Posted: 9/25/2014 7:57pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson has been drawing heavy coverage early in the season, and he has just 10 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown in the first three weeks. The Buccaneers haven't been good at getting the ball to their best receivers on a consistent basis, either. "We've had the opportunities to get Vincent the ball and we're going to continue to do that. The coverage will dictate where he is and how he gets open. Again, if they're going to double-cover him in heavy personnel or they're going to play off coverage and certain things, then we have to play in front of them much like we did two weeks ago and play off that a little bit and spread the ball around,' quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo said.

Huddle Up: The Bucs' poor QB play also share in the blame here for Jackson's slow start as the WR has been targeted a team-high 25 times but has caught only 40 percent of those throws (10) for 102 yards and a TD. See if the Week 4 starting switch to Mike Glennon translates into a boost as the two certainly had a strong connection last season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson wasn't limited in practice Monday, Sept. 22, after sustaining a slight wrist fracture in Week 3. He had his wrist wrapped Monday.

Huddle Up: Jackson, with 10 receptions on 25 targets for 102 yards and a TD, is off to a slow start like almost every other member of the Bucs. See if the wrist is a problem during practice later this week, but for now plan on starting him if you need him.
