New York Jets WR Stephen Hill's roster spot is on the line this summer after two lackluster seasons and knee problems. Hill worked with QB Geno Smith in the offseason in order to improve their chemistry, and Hill has been receiving first-ream repetitions in minicamp. He didn't have surgery on his knees in the offseason but spent his time strengthening the muscles in his knees. "My knee actually feels better than it did last year," Hill said. "Because last year I didn't take a lot of OTA reps and I went all through OTAs and now minicamp, so right now I feel strictly 100 percent." The Jets have plenty of options at wide receiver if Hill doesn't work out. He caught 24 balls for 342 yards and a touchdown last season.

Huddle Up: While nothing is guaranteed for Hill, he'll be given every opportunity to live up to being a high draft pick. With the other upgrades to the Jets' offense, if Hill is able to stay healthy he should have little difficulty dramatically improving on last season's disappointing numbers.

New York Jets WR Stephen Hill still has a chance to become a consistent part of the team's offense, according to receivers coach Sanjay Lal. Hill has battled injuries in each of his first two seasons, and Lal believes the injuries are a big reason why he has struggled to make an impact. 'If he can maintain his health, I can see him becoming consistent,' Lal said. 'Because to become consistent, you have to practice. And you have to practice without thinking about, 'Am I going to get hurt?' or 'Is this hurting?''

Huddle Up: Hill has all of 45 receptions in 23 games over 2 seasons in N.Y., and it's hard to envision him suddenly becoming a fantasy factor given the arrival of Eric Decker, the team's run-first approach and the still-unsettled QB situation.

New York Jets WR Stephen Hill's spot on the roster is not a guarantee, in the opinion of Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. Hill has ended the last two seasons on Injured Reserve.

Huddle Up: The 2012 2nd-round pick has only 45 receptions for 594 yards and 4 TDs in 23 career games and most definitely needs to step up this game to stick around with the Jets, whose No. 1 need is upgrading the offensive play-making corps.

New York Jets WR Stephen Hill (knee) said he does not need surgery on a knee injury he suffered earlier in the season.

Huddle Up: Good news for Hill, as no surgery means no recovery time and frees Hill up to participate in all of the Jets' offseason activities as Gang Green looks to rebuild its passing game from the ground up.

New York Jets WR Stephen Hill (concussion) is active for the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, Oct. 7.

Huddle Up: Hill, the Jets' second-leading receiver with 13 catches for 233 yards and a TD, has cleared all the concussion-protocol hurdles this week and could figure heavily in the game plan with fellow WR Santonio Holmes out.
