Oakland Raiders CB D.J. Hayden (hamstring, heart) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 12, and he should be cleared for contact for the first time Friday, Aug. 16, according to head coach Dennis Allen. He won't play in the team's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, but he might be ready to make his preseason debut in the third game against the Chicago Bears Aug. 23.
Huddle Up: Targeting the third preseason contest is a more than reasonable expectation for the Raiders' first-round pick, who's overcome numerous hurdles just to get this far.

Oakland Raiders CB D.J. Hayden (abdomen, hamstring) has been ruled out for the team's first preseason game Friday, Aug. 9. Hayden had a hamstring flair up Monday, Aug. 5, but his offseason surgery will keep him out of the game.
Huddle Up: The Raiders rolled the dice a bit in selecting Hayden with the draft's 12th overall pick, but monitor his progress and see if he can get in some preseason action.
