Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said the team expects a lot more from RB Ben Tate next season. Tate struggled with injuries and finished with 279 yards this past season.
Huddle Up: The numbers for the Houston running game were down as a whole, and Tate played a major role in that as his yards fell from 942 to 279. He needs to be more of a factor to keep starter Arian Foster fresher.

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said RB Ben Tate (hamstring) worked
out with trainers Monday, Nov. 26. Kubiak said he expects Tate to say he feels
good Tuesday, Nov. 27, and return to the practice field Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Huddle Up: Tate has been out since Week 7, but he's a player to grab and stash for the
fantasy playoffs as the Texans could lock up their postseason seed early and give
the RB some extended playing time while spelling starter Arian Foster down the
stretch.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) went through a hard workout Tuesday, Nov. 20, to help establish his availability for Week 12.
Huddle Up: This is more important to Arian Foster's workload than anything. The workhorse is on pace for 398 carries right now while averaging just 3.8 YPC, foreboding for his future production. Tate's return would mean a lighter workload for Foster; the sooner, the better for Houston's lead back.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) would not have been able to practice Monday, Nov. 19 if the team had practiced.
Huddle Up: It's going on a month now since Tate last played, and he's still taking up bench space on more than a few fantasy rosters as a handcuff for Arian Foster. He's obviously droppable, though, if you need the room.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 16, and has been ruled out for Week 11.
Huddle Up: This will make 3 straight missed games for Tate, leaving Justin Forsett as the No. 2 back behind fantasy stud Arian Foster.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 2, and has been ruled out for Week 9.
Huddle Up: Even last week's bye couldn't help Tate, who will miss a great matchup against a Swiss cheese Bills run defense. Look for Justin Forsett to spell starter Arian Foster.
Posted: 11/1/2012 8:15pm et
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) and OG Cody White (illness) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 1.
Huddle Up: With 2 missed practices coming off a bye week, things are starting to look iffy for Tate in Week 9. If he can't go in a juicy matchup against the Bills, Justin Forsett will back up starter Arian Foster.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) was not ready to return to practice Monday, Oct. 29, and he likely won't be ready for a few more days, putting his Week 9 status in doubt. 'My biggest level of concern with Tate is just keeping him on the field,' head coach Gary Kubiak said. 'It seems like it's been one thing after another. If it's not the toe, the hamstring. This has been going on for a few years. We need him.'
Huddle Up: Despite his injury issues and general lack of week-to-week production, Tate's fantasy value remains very high as the only proven backup to Arian Foster. He's still a must-own in all but the shallowest of leagues, especially for Foster's fantasy owners.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) is dealing with a slight hamstring pull.
Huddle Up: The best news for Tate and his fantasy owners is that the Texans have a bye this week, giving the RB plenty of time to get ready for the second half of the season.
Posted: 10/10/2012 6:25pm et
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (toe) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Huddle Up: This is good news for Tate, who missed last week's game. Justin Forsett was ineffective when he spelled Arian Foster; the Texans could use Tate back in the lineup to give Foster some more breaks. He is still mostly a handcuff, but he has the talent to go off on occasion.
Posted: 10/8/2012 7:46pm et
Ben Tate, who has been in and out of practice all week with a toe injury, is inactive
for the team's Week 5 game Monday night against the New York Jets.
Huddle Up: Tate has been averaging roughly 10 touches per game spelling starter Arian
Foster, and most of those touches likely will go to No. 3 back Justin Forsett tonight.
Posted: 10/8/2012 3:16pm et
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (toe), who was limited in practice last week, is unlikely to play in the team's Week 5 game against the New York Jets Monday, Oct. 8.
Huddle Up: Looks like he is a no go for tonight's game, so expect the carries to continue to be piled on for Arian Foster.
Posted: 10/6/2012 6:12pm et
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said RB Ben Tate (toe) participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 6, and has a good chance to play Week 5.
Huddle Up: Positive sign for Tate, who had missed practice Thursday and Friday. Look for him to get his usual 8-10 touches, but if things turn one-sided in the Texans' favor, Tate could get some rest in favor of No. 3 back Justin Forsett.
Posted: 10/4/2012 5:44pm et
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (toe) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 4. Head coach Gary Kubiak said the team is looking for Tate to practice later in the week.
Huddle Up: Tate has received at least 7 touches in every game this season in relief of starter Arian Foster, but if he is unable to give it a go Monday night, look for No. 3 back Justin Forsett to get some work.
Posted: 10/1/2012 6:32pm et
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (toe) is undergoing X-rays on an injured toe.
Huddle Up: Probably not a big deal but just an FYI.
Posted: 9/5/2012 6:47pm et
Houston Texans' RB Ben Tate (head) DT Shaun Cody (back, ankle) and
DE J.J. Watt (elbow) practiced in full Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Huddle Up: Tate may not be starting, but there could be plenty of carries to go
around Sunday at Reliant Stadium, especially if the 12-point
favorite Texans get up big on the visiting Dolphins. And last time
we checked, garbage time fantasy points count, too.
