Huddle Up: This sounds good for Pitta's fantasy value, but no need to push him up between Gronk and Graham just yet; after all, the Ravens still have Gary Kubiak favorite Owen Daniels and rookie Crockett Gilmore. He's solid with upside, but that puts him in a big pile of TEs on fantasy draft day.

Huddle Up: The Ravens thus avoid a possible TE/WR tag showdown with Pitta, whose deal works out to be at or above the projected yearly franchise tag cost for a tight end. Your move, Saints and Jimmy Graham.

Huddle Up: The Ravens would prefer to avoid a franchise tag fight with Pitta, who wants to be tagged--or at least paid--like a wide receiver, so the hope is that intensified negotiations will keep Pitta in Baltimore without such a squabble.

Huddle Up: Certainly, Pitta's agent will argue that he be paid like a wideout, while the team would prefer to pay him like a tight end. The Ravens experienced a similar "tweener" situation with Terrell Suggs a few years back; expect the Baltimore front office to resolve the situation in a similar fashion before having their hand forced by some sort of league ruling on Pitta's position.

Huddle Up: Pitta was limited to 4 games last season while the Ravens' offense struggled. Now that's far from the only reason, but it does underscore the TE's value to Joe Flacco and the passing attack, so definitely look for the Ravens to keep him around, one way or the other.

Huddle Up: It's hard to see the Ravens letting the productive Pitta walk, but if he does, the Pats certainly would like to return to their 1-2 TE punch days or at least have a capable fill-in on hand in the strong likelihood that Rob Gronkowski's injury issues continue.

Huddle Up: If you enjoyed Owen Daniels' production in Houston, you're sure to like what Pitta can do for Kubiak in Baltimore--assuming he re-signs, which appears to be high on Kubiak's priority list.

Huddle Up: Pitta has been practicing for the last three weeks but will be on a snap count in his first game back. Fantasy owners can't depend on him for Week 14. The best owners can hope for is to stash Pitta for a possible contribution over the next couple of weeks but at most he'll be a TE2.

Huddle Up: Pitta still has to activated off IR, and if so, still check for further status updates over the weekend -- including the Huddle's Game-Day Inactives, Injury and Weather Report on Sunday morning -- if you plan on inserting the TE into your Week 14 lineup.

Huddle Up: Good news, but it's probably a good idea to wait and see what he can do before sticking him in your lineup.

Huddle Up: Don't hold your breath—even if he does return, it might take him a couple of weeks to get back to form—but watch out for some news here.

Huddle Up: Pitta, who has been out all season, is a TE to keep an eye on for the fantasy playoffs if you're desperate at the position.
Posted: 11/23/2013 12:11pm ET
Huddle Up: Pitta is probably still a couple of weeks away from returning to the field. He could help owners during fantasy playoffs, so he's worth picking up and stashing if you have the roster room.

Huddle Up: There's a chance but it's really a slim one as Harbaugh plays some games with Rex Ryan and the opposing Jets this week. Look for Pitta in the coming weeks, though, spelling an end to Dallas Clark's run as Baltimore's starting TE.

Huddle Up: Pitta is practicing this week, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be back this season.
Posted: 11/6/2013 3:10pm ET
Huddle Up: At this point, it's not looking good for Pitta to make any sort of impact on your fantasy team.
Posted: 10/23/2013 1:00pm ET
Huddle Up: It depends on when in November he would be back, but Pitta is certainly worth a speculative add if you have issues at tight end. He might not be available until late in the fantasy season, but he could be a nice playoff boost for you if you need one.
Posted: 10/22/2013 11:25pm ET
Huddle Up: For fantasy purposes, Pitta's season is all but over -- the exception, of course, are those playing in dynasty leagues.
Posted: 8/14/2013 2:48pm ET
Huddle Up: Even if Pitta can come back late, it's doubtful he will have any fantasy impact.
