Cleveland Browns WR David Nelson is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Rob Chudzinski.

Huddle Up: Nelson is battling for a complementary role in the Browns' passing game, and it looks as if he won't have the benefit of offseason organized activities to pick up the new offense. He should still be able to secure a roster spot, but it will be difficult for him to carve out a role worthy of fantasy attention in 2013.

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with free-agent WR David Nelson on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed. Nelson said with the way he is progressing, he is hoping to be a full go for organized team activities. Nelson suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 of 2012.

Huddle Up: Once healthy Nelson will battle Jordan Norwood and Travis Benjamin for third receiver duties in Cleveland, a role that given the current Browns lineup doesn't project to offer much in the way of fantasy value.

Free agent WR David Nelson (Bills) is scheduled to visit the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Nelson's career looked to be on the upswing following a 61-658-5 season in 2011, but a knee injury limited him to one game this past season and the Bills decided to move in another direction this offseason.

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR David Nelson (knee) said he thinks teams will not show immediate interest in him because the more proven receivers will receive the interest at the start of free agency.

Huddle Up: The options for Nelson, who was limited to 1 catch in 1 game due to a knee injury, could likely include re-joining the Bills, who need receiving help outside of top target Steve Johnson.

The Buffalo Bills are not expected to tender restricted free-agent WR David Nelson, who missed all but one game last season due to a knee injury. Nelson is expected to be healthy, but a tender offer would be $1.3 million, and the team is struggling with the salary cap.

Huddle Up: Nelson hasn't done a ton to attract attention, but it sounds as if he'll be free to shop his talents elsewhere. The Bills, meanwhile, still have a need for receiver help opposite Steve Johnson.

The Buffalo Bills are expected to tender an offer to restricted free-agent WR David Nelson this offseason.

Huddle Up: Makes sense to keep Nelson around, as the Bills are shy on wideout depth after Stevie Johnson. He's flashed the ability to be a serviceable secondary receiver, and as an RFA the price is hardly prohibitive.

Posted: 2/2/2013 9:32pm et

Buffalo Bills WR David Nelson said he hopes to be ready for offseason workouts and expects to be 100 percent well before training camp. He said he has been running routes, moving laterally and doing plyometric workouts. He is also cutting a bit but deceleration is still a bit of an issue.

Huddle Up: Nelson's 2012 season ended prematurely due to a knee injury. He could compete for a secondary role alongside Stevie Johnson in the Buffalo offense, but he'll need to get back on the field soon to allow enough time to impress the Bills' new coaching staff before they start retooling the roster via free agency and the draft.

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills WR David Nelson (knee) will miss the rest of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Huddle Up: The Bills don't exactly look loaded with talent to begin with, and now the attrition starts with Nelson done for the year.

Posted: 9/10/2012 12:24pm et

Updating a previous item, there is a fear that Buffalo Bills WR David Nelson could be lost for the season with a knee injury suffered in Week 1.

Huddle Up: The Bills are awaiting the results of an MRI, but coach Chan Gailey didn't sound encouraged following the game. Donald Jones would be the primary candidate to replace Nelson's targets in the Buffalo passing game.
