Arizona Cardinals Alfonso Smith has signed his $555,000 exclusive-rights tender with the team.
Huddle Up: The journeyman Smith will provide depth behind newcomer Rashard Mendenhall and holdover Ryan Williams.

Arizona Cardinals RB Alfonso Smith is in jeopardy of being released in favor of RB William Powell, who has made several plays in the preseason.
Huddle Up: Smith didn't look bad in Arizona's preseason opener, but with Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams getting healthy he's been pushed back down the depth chart. LaRod Stephens-Howling will stick due to his special teams play, which leaves Smith and Powell fighting for a third- or fourth-string job on a team with the worst offensive line in football. Not much fantasy value there anyway.
