San Diego Chargers WR Danario Alexander looked fluid in making back-shoulder catches in practice Monday, May 20. He claims he's at full speed, a contrast to his injured May practices last year with the St. Louis Rams.

Huddle Up: Alexander has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career, but in those limited stretches of good health he's been productive. The Chargers are looking for a go-to receiver, so if Alexander can stay healthy he's the prime candidate for the job.

The San Diego Chargers signed free-agent WR Danario Alexander to a one-year deal Thursday, April 25. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Alexander was a bright spot in the team's 3-5 second half of the season, leading the Chargers in receiving with 34 catches for 597 yards and 7 TDs over the final 8 games. His 3-year career, though, has been dotted with injuries, particularly knee issues, so bringing him back on a 1-year deal minimizes the risk.

The Cleveland Browns are believed to be a team to possibly have interest in restricted free-agent WR Danario Alexander (Chargers).

Huddle Up: With former San Diego' head coach Norv Turner now running the offense in Cleveland, pursuing Alexander is a logical move, but the Chargers are expected to match any offers for the WR who led them with 37 catches for 658 yards and 7 TDs over the second half of the season.

The San Diego Chargers have offered restricted free-agent WR Danario Alexander the lowest tender. He would receive a one-year, $1.323 million contract if he signed the tender.

Huddle Up: Looks as if the Chargers' new regime isn't sold on Alexander as their top receiver. Given his injury history, however, other teams may be equally as tentative in signing him so there's not much risk involved. The low tender could also suggests the Chargers plan to dip into this year's deep class of receivers on one of the first two days of the draft.

The San Diego Chargers are expected to re-sign restricted free-agent WR Danario Alexander this offseason and give him a bigger opportunity on offense next season.

Huddle Up: It only makes sense for Alexander to return to San Diego, as he was their most productive receiver during his stint on the team. If he's able to stay healthy he should remain productive as Philip Rivers' go-to pass-catcher.

San Diego Chargers WR Danario Alexander has led the team in receiving yardage in five consecutive games. He finished with six passes for 102 yards, and he was targeted 10 times, in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Alexander is the only reliable fantasy starter on the Chargers' offense, where struggles, underachievers and disappointments abound from QB Philip Rivers on down.

San Diego Chargers WR Danario Alexander (thigh) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Huddle Up: Alexander's thigh injury reportedly nothing more than a contusion so no surprise that the Chargers' leading receiver of late was off and running in the first practice of the week. Definitely plan on having him available Sunday,

San Diego Chargers WR Danario Alexander said his left knee, which he's undergone five surgeries on dating back to sophomore year in college, feels just as good as his right knee these days. He has eight catches for 195 yards and a touchdown in his last two games with the Chargers, and he started over WR Robert Meachem in Week 10.

Huddle Up: In 2 short weeks, Alexander (8-195, TD) looks like the best WR on the squad. He's definitely worth a flier for those seeking late fantasy season wideout help.

Updating a previous report, San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said Friday, Nov. 2, that WR Danario Alexander will have an expanded role going forward. 'Danario's going to play. We're going to play him,' Turner said. 'He's going to be a big part of what we do. He earned that right last night.'

Huddle Up: Three catches for 61 yards usually isn't cause for a big celebration, but the Chargers have been looking for a wideout to step up alongside Malcom Floyd and Alexander just may fill the bill with Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal struggling with injuries and a lack of production.

WR Danario Alexander had 3 catches for a team-high 61 yards Thursday night in a 31-14 Week 9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: Alexander, who was signed only last week, came through when called upon for the short-handed Chargers, who were without injured wideouts Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal. While Alexander led the way in receiving yards, WR Malcolm Floyd and TE Antonio Gates had scoring receptions for San Diego, while RB Ronnie Brown led the team with 5 catches.

San Diego Chargers WR Danario Alexander will start against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9 Thursday, Nov. 1, with WR Robert Meachem (hamstring) inactive.

Huddle Up: If you're extremely desperate for WR help, give Alexander a whirl. He can't be much worse than Meachem has been.

The St. Louis Rams have waived injured WR Danario Alexander (hamstring).

Huddle Up: The talented Mr. Alexander fought valiantly through injuries and multiple surgeries to make it in the NFL, and the Rams have been very patient, but have now apparently decided to give that roster spot to a more realistic project.

St. Louis Rams WR Danario Alexander (hamstring) spent the first week of training camp sidelined with a hamstring injury. Alexander has had plenty of injury problems during his brief NFL career and the pulled hamstring threatens to send him to the waiver wire before the end of training camp. He was cleared to return to action Monday, Aug. 6, and spent most of the day running with second- and third-string units without seeing many passes go his direction. 'He obviously has some talent. But we just have to keep him out there,' head coach Jeff Fisher said. The Rams upgraded their receiver position during the offseason and competition at it is fierce during camp, so missing time is putting Alexander on the outside looking in. Fisher said Alexander hasn't fallen too far behind, but noted the key for Alexander is to stay on the field. Alexander said it felt good to be back on the field and he is going to try hard to stay healthy.

Huddle Up: Alexander has battled injuries (primarily knee and hamstring ailments) dating back through his college days at Missouri, and they've followed him to the NFL. The wideout has been sidelined for nearly half (14 of 32 games) of his 2-year pro career, and Fisher and the Rams will have no choice but to look elsewhere if he can't stay healthy.
