Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones is likely to stick around with the team long term, as new head coach Dan Quinn indicated in his introductory press conference that Jones is an asset he'd like to keep around. Jones is entering the last year of his contract in which he'll make $10.176 million. It will be Quinn's decision as to whether to extend Jones' contract. 'For me, just to have the chance to start the process with him, I can't wait. We love great players, and we want to celebrate all the good guys that we have. We're trying to collect more great players, not the other way around,' Quinn said.

Huddle Up: Jones is coming off a career year in which he caught 104 of his 163 targets for 1,593 yards and six TDs, and definitely expect the Falcons to keep him around given that fellow wideout Roddy White isn't getting any younger and they're still lacking a play-making TE.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (oblique) is participating in practice Friday, Dec. 26. His is listed as questionable.

Huddle Up: Jones, coming off a 7-catch, 107-yard outing on 8 targets in Week 16, looks good to go for Sunday's showdown against the Panthers, but definitely check in with the The Huddle's Game-Day Inactives, Injury and Weather report before kickoff just in case.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (oblique) is expected to play in Week 17 even though he missed practice Thursday, Dec. 25, according to head coach Mike Smith.

Huddle Up: It's all able hands on deck for the Falcons in a do-or-die showdown against the Panthers. And that most certainly includes Jones, who looked somewhat better than expected in catching seven passes for 107 yards in his return from a Week 15 absence.

  • Posted: 12/20/2014 1:09pm ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones' (hip) availability for Week 16 will be determined by his pregame workout, according to a source.

Huddle Up: One report says Jones will definitely play and another suggests it will depend how he looks in pre-game workouts. The bottom line is Jones is going to be a game-time decision and owners likely won't know his status until Sunday morning. If Jones plays, owners should roll with him for Fantasy Super Bowls.

  • Posted: 12/19/2014 3:52pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) missed another day of practice Friday, Dec. 19, and is listed as questionable for Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints. Jones will be a game-time decision, and he will test his hip Saturday, Dec. 20, before the team leaves town.

Huddle Up: Jones' owners should be familiar with the drill after last week and hopefully still have Harry Douglas or another backup option at the ready.

  • Posted: 12/17/2014 4:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) is not participating in the portion of practice open to the media Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Huddle Up: Falcons coach Mike Smith is getting fed up with the constant questions about Jones, saying Wednesday that the pre-game active/inactive list will do his talking. In the meantime, it's an elimination game for the Falcons on Sunday so expect every effort to be made to have Jones ready, and that likely includes holding him out of early-week practices.

  • Posted: 12/16/2014 11:46pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) is expected to be ready to play in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints. However, offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter indicated the possibility exists that Jones could sit for a second straight game. 'It's hard when you don't know for sure if a guy is going to play no matter if it's Julio or not Julio,' Koetter said Tuesday, Dec. 16. 'We kind of have to have a contingency both ways. We have some 'what if Julio plays' and some 'what if Julio does not play.' We have both. That's one of the hardest things about not knowing if one of your best guys is going to go.'

Huddle Up: Those Jones owners who survived without the big-play wideout Sunday will have to see how he progresses throughout the week, and it very likely could come down to another game-time decision next Sunday.

  • Posted: 12/15/2014 3:14pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) is expected to be ready to play in Week 16, according to head coach Mike Smith.

Huddle Up: Fantasy owners shouldn't count their chickens just yet. Smith has mislead us before when it comes to injury information. Harry Douglas is still firmly on the fantasy radar until it's confirmed Jones will start.

  • Posted: 12/13/2014 5:55pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) can barely run and would be used as a decoy if plays Sunday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Jones is sounding like he's a non-start this week despite a favorable matchup against a weak Steelers secondary. Unfortunately for fantasy owners still in the playoffs, the injury comes at a terrible time but Jones simply can't be trusted even if he's in the starting lineup. He would be a risky start for owners who have other viable options available.

  • Posted: 12/12/2014 2:32pm ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) is questionable for the team's Week 15 game. Jones did not practice Friday, Dec. 12.

Huddle Up: Jones remains a game-time decision, and we'd definitely be feeling better about his prospects if he had been able to do a least a little something Friday. Jones owners should definitely have their backup plans in order, and Harry Douglas certainly isn't a bad option.

  • Posted: 12/11/2014 2:47pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) didn't practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 11 and will be a game-time decision for Week 15, according to head coach Mike Smith.

Huddle Up: At least it's an early kickoff for Jones' fantasy owners, who hopefully were able to pick up Harry Douglas just in case.

  • Posted: 12/10/2014 4:04pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Huddle Up: No real surprise as the team's first practice of the week comes only 2 days after Jones was hurt Monday night, and coach Mike Smith said Wednesday that he's hopeful the WR will be able to play against the Steelers. Definitely stay tuned ...

  • Posted: 12/9/2014 7:57pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones could still play this week after suffering a hip injury late in Monday night's game against the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Mike Smith said he's hopeful that Jones will be able to play, but added that how much practice time Jones gets this week remains to be seen.

Huddle Up: Being without Jones this week would be a crushing blow to many fantasy owners who have ridden his spectacular 21-448-2 showing over the last 2 weeks. Stay tuned ...

  • Posted: 12/9/2014 12:18am ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) left early in the fourth quarter and didn't return after suffering a hip injury Monday, Dec. 8.

Huddle Up: Jones' fantasy owners are hoping it's a strain more than anything as their man came through with a career game for the second straight week, hauling in 11 of his game-high 17 targets for an Atlanta single-game record 259 yards and a TD in the Falcons' 43-37 loss. Working against Jones, of course, will be the short week leading into Sunday's game with the Steelers, and we'll have to stay on top of practice reports coming out of Georgia in a few days.

  • Posted: 11/21/2014 6:21pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (illness) fully participated in practice, Friday, Nov. 21, and is probable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Jones was back after a two-day battle with a nasty bug and should be good to go Sunday against the Browns.

  • Posted: 11/20/2014 3:48pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (illness) is not participating in practice Thursday, Nov. 20. It appears like Jones will still be ready for the team's Week 12 game.

Huddle Up: Sounds like a bug is making the rounds in Atlanta, but go ahead and count on having Jones available Sunday, especially if he can return to practice Friday.

  • Posted: 11/19/2014 6:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (illness) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Huddle Up: Sounds like nothing to really worry about right now, and if so, he'll be back in practice Thursday or Friday at the latest.

  • Posted: 10/22/2014 6:18pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones said he should be blamed for the team's offensive struggles, because he needs to make plays when given the chance. 'It starts with me,' Jones said. 'I got to go out there and make plays when they are presented to me. I got to go out there and catch the ball, be more of a deep threat. ... We are out there misreading or dropping balls. We have to fix that. It's nothing that the defense is doing, we have to fix that here.'

Huddle Up: Jones has been targeted 44 times over the last 4 games but has a modest 26 catches for 311 yards and no scores following a blazing 23-365-3 start in Weeks 1-3. He remains a WR1, but he's certainly overdue for a big game.

  • Posted: 10/17/2014 2:19pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 17, and is probable for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Jones will be out there Sunday without out much limitation against the Ravens, and his fantasy owners will be hoping to see him in the end zone for the first time since Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/16/2014 4:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (ankle) fully participated in practice Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Huddle Up: Strong sign after Jones was limited Monday, so expect to have the wideout at or near full strength Thursday night. That might be especially important to the Atlanta passing game as fellow wideout Roddy White (hammy) has been unable to practice at all so far this week.

  • Posted: 8/19/2014 8:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones did not participate in practice Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Huddle Up: No worries as it was simply a rest day for the WR, who caught 2 of his 4 targets for 20 yards last Saturday in his 2014 debut.

  • Posted: 8/14/2014 11:51pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) expects to play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 16.

Huddle Up: Expect the snaps to be strongly curtailed for the wideout, who will be seeing his first game action since Week 5 of last season.

  • Posted: 7/31/2014 11:59pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones is working with a restricted snap count during training camp and is wearing special shoes designed to take stress of the bone that he fractured in his right foot last season.

Huddle Up: As fully expected, Jones is taking it slow along the comeback trail. Expect his exhibition game snaps to be limited as well.

  • Posted: 6/22/2014 7:49pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) expects to be a full participant once training camp starts.

Huddle Up: Expect a bounce-back season from Jones, who was limited to 41 catches, 580 yards and 2 TDs last season, but you're going to have to have to use a high-round draft pick to get him as his spectacular 2012 season (79-1,198-10) is still fresh in most fantasy minds.

  • Posted: 6/18/2014 11:32am ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) was able to run routes during OTAs and has been walking normally as he continues his recovery from a broken right foot. Jones also said that the rehab process has made him stronger overall. 'I feel great,' Jones said. 'I'm back doing the little things that I used to do. I'm back to the old Julio. I feel like I'm actually stronger now because I've been doing back squats; getting my quads stronger. Muscles in my hamstrings.'

Huddle Up: A healthy Jones resumes his place among the top fantasy wide receivers in the league, and all indications are he's healthy heading into the 2014 season.

  • Posted: 5/19/2014 12:19am ET

Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said WR Julio Jones (knee) would not be doing much during the offseason and the goal is to have him ready for training camp.

Huddle Up: The Falcons and the fantasy world has seen what Jones can do when healthy (79-1,198-10 in 2012) and there's no sense rushing him back into action for some meaningless OTAs.

  • Posted: 4/29/2014 4:12pm ET

The Atlanta Falcons are exercising the fifth-year option on WR Julio Jones.

Huddle Up: Another no-brainer here, even with Jones coming off a foot injury/surgery, which cost him all but 5 games a year ago.

  • Posted: 4/22/2014 3:57pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will be limited during the team's offseason workouts while he recovers from offseason foot surgery. 'Julio is participating with our athletic performance department,' head coach Mike Smith said. 'He will be able to get out on the field and do some walk-through stuff with us when we start going. Our focus on Julio is one thing, and that's having him prepared for our opener. ... He's progressing well. We're not going to do anything to hinder his timeframe in terms of getting back to work with us.'

Huddle Up: Definitely expect the Falcons to take it nice and easy with Jones -- even if that's not going to be easy on fantasy GMs anticipating a strong, bounce-back season from the wideout.
