Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said WR Julio Jones (foot) is ahead of schedule in his recovery after having surgery on his foot last season. Smith said Jones has resumed running, and the team expects him to be 100 percent healthy soon.

Huddle Up: A healthy Jones, especially one participating fully in training camp, will be a whole lot easier to spend an early fantasy draft pick on.

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said WR Julio Jones is doing well in his rehab from foot surgery.

Huddle Up: Jones went out before midseason so expect him back at full strength for the start of the 2014 campaign.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) will undergo surgery on his foot next week after Dr. Robert Anderson diagnosed him with a fractured foot. Jones will miss the rest of the season.

Huddle Up: What a huge blow to the Falcons and your fantasy team. Try to grab Harry Douglas if he's available or trade Matt Ryan away if you have him.

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will get a second opinion on his foot injury Wednesday, Oct. 8. Jones does not think the injury is season ending.

Huddle Up: We wish Jones well, but it sounds like the NFL's receptions leader is in a bit of denial. In any case, second opinions rarely constitute a reversal of fortune.

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) is out for the year with a foot injury.

Huddle Up: There's a very small possibility that a second opinion may give the team a different answer, but it's remote and the team is not optimistic. This is a huge blow to the Falcons and many fantasy teams. This leaves the Falcons with a breaking down Roddy White and Harry Douglas at receiver. Needless to say, if Douglas is available in your league you should maneuver to pick him up.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones was spotted limping out of the X-ray room after the Week 5 game. It appeared to be a lower right leg or foot issue.

Huddle Up: Not good news for Jones, though on the bright side he'll have an extra week of recovery time with Atlanta on the bye.

Posted: 6/19/2013 3:51pm et

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has cut beef and pork out of his diet over the past year and feels "much better. Especially playing football, I feel that stuff sits on you." He also now prefers organic over regular food while also taking advice from the team nutritionist.

Huddle Up: Jones was already a beast; leaner, meaner, and more muscular should serve him well in 2013. He's already holding a lofty perch among fantasy wideouts so it would be tough to push him up further, but at least you know he won't show up for camp out of shape.
