San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said LB Aldon Smith is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
Huddle Up: Smith's late-season numbers dipped due to a torn labrum, which he recently had surgery on. He says he'll be good to go, so write off the late-season swoon as injury-related and expect his numbers to return to pre-tear levels.

San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith had surgery to repair a torn labrum a few weeks ago. He was on the injury report for the final five weeks of the regular season and postseason with the shoulder issue.
Huddle Up: The injury certainly explains Smith's numbers tailing off down the stretch. With surgery already behind him, Smith should be good to go for the start of the 2013 season.

San Francisco 49ers' LB Aldon Smith (shoulder), WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) and FB Bruce Miller (shoulder) and were each listed as limited participants in practice Wednesday, Dec. 12. However, each is expected to play in the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots.
Huddle Up: The Niners and more than a few IDP league owners are counting heavily on Smith, the NFL's leader in QB sacks (19.5), to bring the heat Sunday night against Tom Brady and the league's highest-scoring team.

San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith was credited with 5.5 sacks in the Week 11 game against the Chicago Bears Monday, Nov. 19. The sack total was the most ever in a Monday Night Football game.
Huddle Up: Smith put on a dominant performance, terrorizing the Bears' offensive line and QB Jason Campbell all night long. The cat-quick pass rusher entered the game with an NFC-leading 9.5 sacks and now leads the NFL with 15 through 10 games.

San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith (hip) is believed to be available for this week's game, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Huddle Up: Smith has been MIA most of the preseason, but the LBr, who finished fifth in the league with 14 sacks last season as a rookie, sounds good to go with the regular season looming in a week.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated LB Aldon Smith (hip) should be ready for the start of regular season. Smith will not play in the second preseason game and does not appear likely to play in the third preseason game.
Huddle Up: Smith, entering his second year, is a key piece on one of fantasy's top defenses. He tied for fifth in the league with 14 sacks in his standout rookie season a year ago, and gives the 49ers arguably the league's top linebacking corps.
