Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin is off to another strong start in voluntary workouts this spring. He also had a strong start last season in minicamp when the pads were off, but he disappeared once the pads went on. Baldwin was working as a starter Wednesday, April 17, after serving behind WR Donnie Avery during workouts Tuesday, April 16. 'Jon is working hard,' head coach Andy Reid said. 'He is a unique specimen being as big as he is. He can do some things that other people can't do just by size and strength. It's important he puts himself into position to do that.'

Huddle Up: Baldwin, a 2011 first-rounder, has all the physical tools at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds , but it hasn't translated on the field or the stat sheet as he has only 41 catches for 579 yards and 2 TDs in 2 seasons. Maybe a new coach, scheme and QB will spark the wideout to take a leap forward.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel appeared to express frustration with the lack of regress being made by WR Jonathan Baldwin. 'I hope to see him be able to separate when it's needed, be able to execute the gameplan the way we need it executed,' Crennel said Monday, Dec. 17. 'If he can do that, I think we'll see more production.'

Huddle Up: Baldwin, who didn't have a catch on 4 targets Sunday, has seen only 18 of the 39 passes thrown his way result in receptions this season, and has been a big-time fantasy disappointment for anyone looking to land a WR sleeper. If Sunday is any indication, things aren't going to change much, even with No. 1 wideout Dwayne Bowe out for the season.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said the team expects more out of WR Jonathan Baldwin. Baldwin has only 15 catches for 213 yards after he excelled in the preseason while WR Dwayne Bowe was in the middle of a holdout. 'The thing that we have to do is, we have to get Jon more involved than we've had him involved and give him an opportunity to be a playmaker for us. That's one of the things we're going to try to work on,' Crennel said.

Huddle Up: While Baldwin has been disappointing, the Chiefs' horrid QB play -- with Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn combining for an unbelievable 21 turnovers so far -- has knocked fantasy values down across the board in K.C.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Brian Daboll said Friday, Sept. 14, that WR Jonathan Baldwin might be a bigger part of the game plan in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. Baldwin saw limited action in the team's Week 1 loss against the Atlanta Falcons, and he was not targeted once. Daboll said Atlanta's two-deep zones were more favorable for throwing to tight ends in the middle of the field as opposed to throwing to wide receivers along the sidelines. 'Each week is a different week with different defenses that guy faces,' Daboll said.

Huddle Up: Baldwin appeared on a few preseason sleeper lists, but anyone who took a gamble and started the K.C. wideout in Week 1 was rewarded with a big, round zero. Despite Daboll's comments, it's hard to imagine many fantasy GMs will be going back to this well again Sunday.
