Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (thumb) said he hasn't been limited at all after returning to practice this week, and he no longer has a brace on his hand. 'I'm ready to go full go, 100 percent, full tilt,' Ingram said. 'I've been getting all the reps in practice. They haven't babied me or eased me into practice, so I've been doing everything, catching, running, blocking, everything.' However, head coach Sean Payton has been mum on how the team will split repetitions between Ingram and RBs Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Ingram should resume his role as the Saints top fantasy running back now that he's healthy again. He'll be a stretch as an RB2 against a stout Lions defensive front but Ingram is certainly a flex option this week.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 15, and said he plans to play in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. Ingram may wear a small brace on his hand, but his fracture has healed completely. RB Khiry Robinson had been taking most of the snaps in Ingram's absence. 'We'll see how we handle that on Sunday,' said head coach Sean Payton. 'Obviously we value depth at that position.'

Huddle Up: We're back to the early-season logjam in the Saints' backfield, but Ingram's return definitely hurts Robinson the most as he has averaged nearly 17 touches a contest during Ingram's 3-game absence. Overall, none of the Saints' backs are a particularly strong play this week against a stout Lions' D that surrenders the eighth-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) was inactive in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys, but he remains on pace to return after the team's Week 6 bye.

Huddle Up: We'll see if Ingram returns to his previous role as the Saints' primary ball-carrier; right now Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson are trading off that duty as New Orleans looks for answers on offense. At least you know the Saints' backfield is a mess, so you can't simply pencil Ingram in for the bulk of the carries once he returns.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) underwent surgery to place two screws in his broken hand, according to head coach Sean Payton. Ingram will not play in Week 3, but the injury is not believed to be a long-term injury.

Huddle Up: A month's absence is what's generally being forecast for Ingram. In the meantime, of course, it means a bump in value for both Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson.

  • Posted: 9/15/2014 1:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) is expected to miss roughly a month after injuring his hand in Week 2, according to a source.

Huddle Up: It's a big blow to Ingram and the Saints. Ingram was finally starting to play well. Khiry Robinson will now see an expanded role in the Saints offense. He will be a hot waiver wire addition.

  • Posted: 9/8/2014 11:01am ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had 13 rushes for 60 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1

Huddle Up: The Saints backfield remains a messy situation for fantasy owners, but if Ingram consistently receives a dozen touches per game--especially goal line looks--and runs like he has throughout the preseason and Week 1 he'll finally be the fantasy factor many have been waiting for.

  • Posted: 8/20/2014 12:01am ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has never had a touchdown reception during the regular season, but he took a screen pass for a 23-yard touchdown in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 15.

Huddle Up: Ingram is currently the third Saints' RB coming off the board, on average, but he very well could wind up with the most fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues. In another way to put it: Welcome to another season of the Saints' RB conundrum.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram said he is more motivated after the team declined to pick up his fifth-year option this offseason. 'Like they said, they really like me as a player,' Ingram said. 'Just the (salary) number was a little high for what a running back gets on the free-agent market.'

Huddle Up: In order to make any sort of statement, Ingram will need the increased touches to do so in the Saints' perennial RBBC, and he just may get them -- particularly rushes -- with Darren Sproles now gone and Pierre Thomas likely being asked to fill that role and catch more passes out of the backfield.

  • Posted: 5/5/2014 12:23am ET

The New Orleans Saints decided not to pick up the fifth-year option in RB Mark Ingram's contract.

Huddle Up: Ingram, who has only 1,462 rushing yards in 3 seasons, has been unable to distinguish himself in the Saints' crowded backfield and it's certainly worthy of another year of first-round RB $$$.

  • Posted: 4/24/2014 1:08am ET

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team has not made a final decision on whether to pick up the fifth-year option in RB Mark Ingram's contract and that they have more time before making a decision.

Huddle Up: Whether or not the Saints extend Ingram's contract could provide a clue as to just how much they intend to use him in their new Darren Sproles-less backfield.

  • Posted: 3/10/2014 2:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has expressed mixed feelings about the cuts made by the team over the last several days, but he understands these cuts could lead to a bigger role for him in the offense. 'It's crazy to think about, and it's shocking with everything going on. But it's just the business side of everything. Those guys in the front office are doing what they think is best to have success this year,' Ingram said.

Huddle Up: Fewer backs in the Saints backfield would in theory give Ingram more of an opportunity, but he's not an every-down back in Sean Payton's system so he'll still be sharing the workload.

  • Posted: 11/18/2013 2:29pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had only 25 yards on six carries in the team's Week 11 win over the San Francisco 49ers after his big game a week ago.

Huddle Up: In other news, the sun rises in the east. Mark Ingram's one-week explosion was an aberration.

  • Posted: 11/11/2013 3:28pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had a career-high 145 rushing yards on 14 carries in the team's Week 10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It was his first 100-yard game of his three-year career. The Saints finished with 242 yards rushing on 38 carries.

Huddle Up: Don't buy it. See Targets, Touches and Throws later this week.
