Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 19, and is questionable for Week 3.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, tied for the team lead in targets (12) and receptions (7), should be able to play, but his fantasy owners are going to need to double check his status Sunday morning to make sure.

  • Posted: 7/27/2014 11:33pm ET

The Minnesota Vikings have signed TE Kyle Rudolph to a five-year extension worth $36.5 million Sunday, July 27.

Huddle Up: There are high fantasy hopes for Rudolph this season with the addition of new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who has a track record of featuring tight ends (Jay Novacek, Antonio Gates, Jordan Cameron) in his offenses.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph has slimmed down this offseason, dropping about 15 pounds. 'It was more of just a focus on my diet in February and March, versus, you are out in California, you work out every day, so you feel like you can eat whatever you want,' Rudolph said. 'Nothing really changes, because you make up for it with the workouts, but when I really focused on eating lean meats, eating the salads, you see the results.'

Huddle Up: If the Vikes find some stability at QB and Rudolph can stay healthy after playing only half a season a year ago, a return of his top-10 fantasy numbers of 2012 (53-493-9) isn't out of the question.

  • Posted: 4/15/2014 3:56pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) said he has been running since mid-February and has experienced no foot problems.

Huddle Up: Rudolph missed half of the Vikes' season a year ago with a foot injury and is a strong fantasy bounce-back candidate in light of his 53-493-9 campaign in 2012.

  • Posted: 2/27/2014 1:07pm ET

The Minnesota Vikings could consider signing TE Kyle Rudolph to a contract extension this offseason, because he will be entering the final year of his contract.

Huddle Up: Carlson, who missed the last half of the Vikes' season with a foot injury, is an extension candidate based on the promise of his breakout 2012 season in which he snared 53 passes for 493 yards and 9 TDs.

  • Posted: 1/25/2014 11:45pm ET

Beat writer Ben Goessling expects Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph to see a bigger role in the offense under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who has made stars out of former Dallas Cowboys TE Jay Novacek, San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates and Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron. The team might flex Rudolph out and let him work through the midde of the defense.

Huddle Up: No surprise here, as the talented Rudolph should be the biggest beneficiary of Turner taking over the Minnesota offense. After a 2013 season marred by injury and quarterback issues, Rudolph could be a value on fantasy draft day.

  • Posted: 12/23/2013 11:54pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph said he hopes to sign an extension with the team this offseason. Rudolph said he will have his agent reach out to the team during the offseason.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, who has missed the Vikings' last 7 games with a foot injury, had 30 catches for 313 yards and 3 TDs in the team's first 8 games. You would figure the Vikes would like to keep him around with the team struggling to fill his absence outside of a few decent games from John Carlson.

  • Posted: 12/9/2013 2:09pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) is expected to be placed on Injured Reserve, according to head coach Leslie Fraizer.

Huddle Up: In case you were stashing him hoping he would return in the fantasy playoffs, he is now safe to drop.

  • Posted: 11/11/2013 3:28pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) is off crutches and in a walking boot as he recovers from a broken foot. Rudolph is expected to miss another three-to-five weeks.

Huddle Up: This is good to see, but it still seems like Rudolph will be out for the remainder of the fantasy season.

  • Posted: 11/4/2013 3:51pm ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) will miss four to six weeks because of his fractured foot. Rudolph did not suffer a Lisfranc injury.

Huddle Up: This unfortunate timetable essentially takes him out of the fantasy season.

  • Posted: 11/4/2013 2:07pm ET

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) has a fractured foot and could miss as much as a month.

Huddle Up: This is a big blow to an offense that isn't exactly high powered. If you were counting on Rudolph to buoy your fantasy team to the playoffs, find a good alternative quickly.

  • Posted: 11/4/2013 10:49am ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) had X-rays on his foot after the Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys. X-rays were negative. Rudolph is expected to be re-examined Monday, Nov. 4.

Huddle Up: It's a short week for the Vikings, so while it's good news that Rudolph's X-rays were negative that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be ready to play on Thursday.
