Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is making preparations for two months of strength and conditioning as he tries to rid himself of proneness to injury. 'I'd like to think no one in the league works harder than I do to stay healthy and take care of my body, but the bottom line is I haven't been, and the only way to get rid of those questions is to play 16 games,' Rudolph said.

Huddle Up: Rudolph had 53 catches for 493 yards and nine TDs in his sophomore season in 2012 but has only had 54 grabs for 543 yards and five scores while playing a combined 17 games over the last two injury-riddled campaigns. If you could project a full season of work for Rudolph, he'd certainly be a TE1 candidate.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle) is questionable for Week 17. Rudolph was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: The status of Rudolph, who sat out Week 16, remains very much up in the air with only Friday's limited work being the extent of his practice time this week. His fantasy owners will definitely need to check his status Sunday morning.

  • Posted: 12/25/2014 7:02pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 25.

Huddle Up: That's two missed practices in two days for the TE who also sat out Week 16, so Friday is shaping up as a crucial practice.

  • Posted: 12/24/2014 1:48pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle, knee) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 24.

Huddle Up: Status quo for now, but practices later in the week should reveal if Rudolph will be able to return Sunday after sitting out Week 16.

  • Posted: 12/22/2014 8:12pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle, knee) will be active for the team's Week 17 game if he is healthy enough to play, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Huddle Up: "If" is the key word there for Rudolph who sat out Week 16 -- his eighth missed game of the season.

  • Posted: 12/19/2014 6:44pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 19, and is listed as doubtful for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Bad timing for those fantasy GMs who have scraping along with Rudolph at TE, but it certainly looks like you're going to need a Plan B ASAP.

  • Posted: 12/18/2014 2:04pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle, knee) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 18.

Huddle Up: Increasingly troubling news as it's the second straight missed practice for Rudolph, who is coming off a season-high seven-catch, 69-yard effort in Week 15. Rudolph owners will have to hope for better news in Friday's always-important practice.

  • Posted: 11/15/2014 12:25am ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 14, and is probable for Week 11.

Huddle Up: Rudolph will play for the first time since Week 3, but his workload could be somewhat curtailed due to the long layoff.

  • Posted: 11/13/2014 6:28pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) returned to a full practice Thursday, Nov. 13, after being limited Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Huddle Up: Seeing the TE ramp up his practice workload is the best sign yet that he'll be able to return to action in Week 11. See if the Friday outlook remains just as promising.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, who has been out since Week 3, has targeted this game -- the contest following the team's Week 10 bye -- to make his return. See what the outlook is after a couple more days of practice.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen) was able to do some things during practice Monday, Nov. 10, and the team hopes he will be able to return to the field in the near future, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Huddle Up: Rudolph could play this week but either way he'll be back on the field soon. Rudolph should be added in all leagues.

  • Posted: 11/4/2014 11:40pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) is eyeing Nov. 16 versus the Chicago Bears for his return. Rudolph said he needs to get himself in football shape and said mentally he's given himself 2weeks to get ready.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, who garnered plenty of preseason hype as a TE on the rise, has been out since Week 3 and could be a decent stretch-run pickup if your waiver wire is bare and you're hurting at TE.

  • Posted: 11/3/2014 11:04pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen) said his goal is to return after the team's Week 10 bye.

Huddle Up: Rudolph has been out since Week 3, and backup Chase Ford has picked up the slack of late, hauling in 11 passes for 127 yards and a TD over the last 2 games.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen, groin) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 30.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, who's been out since Week 3, has been doing conditioning work on the side as of late but don't look for his return until Week 11 at the earliest. The Vikings do have a bye in Week 10, giving the TE 2 more weeks to recover.

  • Posted: 10/23/2014 4:14pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) participated in the team stretch before practice Thursday, Oct. 23. Rudolph did some running off to the side with a trainer.

Huddle Up: A player to stash or a name to keep in mind if you're hurting at TE as Rudolph should be back in a few weeks.

  • Posted: 9/24/2014 4:51pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) could return in time to avoid going on the short-term Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Huddle Up: Good news for the Vikings who haven't had a lot it of this season, but it's of little consolation to a good many of Randolph's fantasy owners who couldn't afford to allocate an extra roster space for the TE, who wasn't producing much even before the injury.

  • Posted: 9/22/2014 7:03pm ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (hernia) will undergo surgery for a sports hernia. He is expected to miss about six weeks.

Huddle Up: Rudolph owners are in a bind with bye weeks coming up. The Vikings will roll with Rhett Ellison and MarQueis Gray but neither is a viable fantasy option right now. If you lost Rudolph, Niles Paul, Travis Kelce or Dwayne Allen are possible replacement options.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 19, and is questionable for Week 3.

Huddle Up: Rudolph, tied for the team lead in targets (12) and receptions (7), should be able to play, but his fantasy owners are going to need to double check his status Sunday morning to make sure.

  • Posted: 7/27/2014 11:33pm ET

The Minnesota Vikings have signed TE Kyle Rudolph to a five-year extension worth $36.5 million Sunday, July 27.

Huddle Up: There are high fantasy hopes for Rudolph this season with the addition of new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who has a track record of featuring tight ends (Jay Novacek, Antonio Gates, Jordan Cameron) in his offenses.

  • Posted: 7/8/2014 10:58pm ET

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph has slimmed down this offseason, dropping about 15 pounds. 'It was more of just a focus on my diet in February and March, versus, you are out in California, you work out every day, so you feel like you can eat whatever you want,' Rudolph said. 'Nothing really changes, because you make up for it with the workouts, but when I really focused on eating lean meats, eating the salads, you see the results.'

Huddle Up: If the Vikes find some stability at QB and Rudolph can stay healthy after playing only half a season a year ago, a return of his top-10 fantasy numbers of 2012 (53-493-9) isn't out of the question.
