Former Detroit Lions WR Titus Young has posted bond and has been released from an Orange County jail where he was being held for allegedly trying to burglarize a San Clemente home.

Huddle Up: This might be the first positive development for Young in a while. However, there are plenty more steps before he returns to the NFL, and even more beyond that before he pops up on the fantasy radar once again.

The NFL reached out to free-agent WR Titus Young around 18 months ago to help with his mental issues, but he declined their help. Troy Vincent, NFL's director of player engagement, said the league is still interested in helping Young but can't force him to take the help.

Huddle Up: Good to know the league is trying to help, but disturbing that Young hasn't taken them up on the offer. It's a situation that at present doesn't appear to be headed for a happy ending.

Free-agent WR Titus Young, who has been jailed since May 11, learned in court Friday, May 24, that he would be charged with three new counts, bringing his total to 11. The exact nature of the counts was not available immediately, because they had not been filed yet.

Huddle Up: Here's hoping this leads to Young getting the help he so obviously needs. Don't expect him back on the football field any time soon.

Detroit Lions LB Stephen Tulloch said he was with free-agent WR Titus Young on an airplane and that Young showed him a document that explained the mental disorder Young is dealing with. "He's aware of the situation that he's dealing with and he showed me a paper and we went over it and I looked over it, and I understand it," Tulloch said. "A lot of people laugh about it and ke-ke-ke about it, but it's real. He has head issues, and the Titus Young when he came in as a rookie and the Titus Young now is two different people. It's kind of like when you look at him, he's looking through you. It's different. You can tell there's something going on in his mind, in his head, and I hope that he can get help." Tulloch has contacted the NFL to see if they can help Young with his situation.

Huddle Up: Young's recent spate of arrests indicates there are definitely some issues; here's hoping he gets the help he needs, and soon.

Free-agent WR Titus Young may not come within 100 feet of the mother of his 9-month-old child when he is released from jail. She was granted a temporary restraining order after complaining that Young threatened and harassed her.

Huddle Up: Things are spiraling out of control for Young; he'll need to get some serious help before he even gets a sniff of returning to the NFL. For everyone involved, let's hope he does.

Free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams, Lions) was arrested Friday, May 10, after allegedly breaking into a house and fighting with officers after a brief pursuit. Young has been charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. It is the third time Young has been arrested in the past week.

Huddle Up: What more is there to add at this point?

Posted: 5/8/2013 1:22pm et

Free-agent WR Titus Young was arrested twice in a 15-hour span Sunday, May 5, by the Moreno Valley Police Department in southern California. According to the police report, Young was stopped at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday after making an illegal left turn in front of a patrol car. Young was stopped and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Hours later, at 2:22 p.m. that day, officers responded to a tow company yard where a man was seen jumping over the fence. He was arrested for burglary after the police determined he was trying to take his own vehicle. He was booked again at the same detention center.

Huddle Up: At this juncture Young's only remaining NFL options are the Raiders and Bengals.

According to a report on NFL.com, former Detroit Lions WR Titus Young was arrested twice in 15 hours by the Moreno Valley Police Department in Southern California on Sunday. Young was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Sunday morning. Hours after he was released, police responded to a call about a man trespassing inside a fenced- in tow-company yard. Officers then arrested Young again, this time on a burglary charge, when it was determined he was trying to leave in his own vehicle, which had been towed following his arrest.

Huddle Up: Young, a second-round pick in 2011, sabotaged his own career with attitude and insubordination issues in Detroit and then was actually signed in February by the WR-needy Rams before they quickly wisened up after only 10 days. Prediction: It's going to be a while before another NFL squad takes a flier on this troubled wideout.

The St. Louis Rams will release WR Titus Young.

Huddle Up: How big a jerk does a guy have to be to be cut loose from a team in less than a week--during the offseason, no less? Evidently we've found an answer to that question.

Posted: 2/5/2013 11:32pm et

The St. Louis Rams claimed WR Titus Young (Lions) off waivers Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Huddle Up: It's a new start for Young, but what the wideout needs is a whole new attitude after getting himself run out of Detroit.

Posted: 2/4/2013 6:20pm et

The Detroit Lions have released WR Titus Young.

Huddle Up: Even Stevie Wonder saw this one coming. Young is in serious need of an attitude adjustment and is unlikely to find work in the NFL again until he gets one.

Posted: 1/25/2013 3:14pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young posted on his Twitter page that he wants the team to either cut him or commit to him. "Oh I'm not done, if y'all going to cut me let me go. I'm tired of the threats," Young tweeted.

Huddle Up: Young is providing a clinic in how to punch your ticket out of the league. At this juncture all the bridges with the Lions appear burned, and he's doing a tremendous job of making sure no other team will want to have anything to do with him.

Posted: 1/23/2013 12:39am et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young is threatening to not play football if he does not get the ball thrown to him more. 'Like I said I never been selfish but if I'm not going to get the football I don't want to play anymore,' Young said through his twitter account. Young has a long list of previous issues with the Lions, including punching a teammate and intentionally lining up in the wrong place on the field before ultimately being sent home and placed on Injured Reserve at the end of the season.

Huddle Up: Here's Exhibit A when it comes to players who just don't get it ...

Posted: 1/1/2013 4:11pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young could return to the team next season, according to head coach Jim Schwartz. "There's a chance," Schwartz said. "There is a process involved there. He's a very talented player and obviously made a difference when he was on the field and it, particularly with the way the injuries went with Nate Burleson and then later (Ryan) Broyles, it affected the team not having him out there." Young got sent home for behavioral issues and was eventually placed in Injured Reserve late in the 2012 season.

Huddle Up: Right now, it's hard to envision Young back in the Motor City after the WR intentionally sabotaged his own offense. And when he was playing in the first 10 games of the season, it's not like he was a huge difference maker, only averaging 3.3 catches and 38.3 yards per outing.

The Detroit Lions placed WRs Titus Young (knee) and Ryan Broyles (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 4. The team sent Young home twice in the past three weeks due to behavior issues. Also, the team released S Erik Coleman, WR Kris Durham was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad and signed free-agent S Tyrell Johnson (Vikings) and WR Troy Burrell (Lions) to the practice squad.

Huddle Up: Young appears to have played his last game for the Lions, while the emerging Broyles will be missed -- all leaving Mike Thomas as the Lions' No. 2 wideout.

Posted: 12/3/2012 4:43pm et

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team sent WR Titus Young home and is not part of the team at this point.

Huddle Up: Young may catch on with another team but it looks like his days are numbered in Detroit barring any change.

Posted: 11/29/2012 12:26pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young continued to work with the second-team offense in practice Thursday, Nov. 29. Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz had said Wednesday that it was 'too soon to tell' whether WR Titus Young would be active for the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts. 'He's always been a member of the team. Last week, he was inactive and like I said yesterday, we needed some time apart to get some stuff straight. Came out today and worked hard, did his job, and that's what we expect of him,' Schwartz said. In a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 11, Young purposely lined up in the wrong spot on the field multiple times and was removed from the game's final series after a verbal exchange with receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.

Huddle Up: With the fantasy postseason right around the corner, you don't want any part of Young and his troubles -- not even in the last spot on your bench.

Posted: 11/28/2012 7:34pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young took second-team repetitions in the portion of practice open to the media Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Huddle Up: You have to be in a pretty deep league to put any fantasy faith in Young, who's coming off a Week 12 disciplinary suspension. A case can be made that he's now no better than the sixth option in the Lions' pass-catching pecking order.

Posted: 11/27/2012 11:24pm et

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said that both the team and WR Titus Young needed time away. Young did not participate in practice Tuesday, Nov. 27. When asked if Young could not play again this season, Schwartz said "potentially."

Huddle Up: Young still ranks as the team's third-leading receiver with 33 catches for 383 yards and 4 TDs, but the rift between him and the Lions apparently runs deeper than many outsiders would've believed. With it win-or-start-planning-for-2013 time in most fantasy leagues, it's certainly not the juncture to be holding any kind of stock in Young.

Posted: 11/19/2012 10:40pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young was sent home from the Lions' practice facility Monday for disciplinary reasons, and is not expected to play Thursday in the team's Thnksgiving Day game against the Houston Texans. Young played 68 of his team's 72 offensive snaps in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, but he was benched late in the game. WR Ryan Broyles played 31 snaps, and WR Mike Thomas played four snaps in the loss.

Huddle Up: Young has had a history of attitude issues in the Motor City, and those apparently surfaced again in Sunday's loss to the Packers. Young had one reception for 24 yards in the game, compounded his performance with several mental errors and then -- according to the Detroit Free Press -- engaged in a sideline shouting match with offensive coordinator Shawn Jefferson. Given this news and the wideout's up-and-down on-field performances of late, it's going to be hard to trust Young going forward. Broyles and the recently-signed Thomas will be the fantasy beneficiaries if Young is benched as expected Thursday.

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 16, and is listed as probable for Week 11.

Huddle Up: Young figures to see his fair share of targets with Calvin Johnson getting most of the defensive attention, but Young has been up and down of late, hauling in a combined 3 TD passes in Weeks 8 and 10 sandwiched around a 2-catch, 20-yard clunker in Week 9.

Posted: 11/8/2012 7:04pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young (knee) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 8.

Huddle Up: That's back-to-back missed practices now for Young, who is coming off a disappointing 2-catch, 20-yard performance Week 9 against the Jaguars.

Posted: 11/7/2012 1:14pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young (knee) was not participating during the media-access portion of practice Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Huddle Up: Unlike Megatron, who is likely to play at a high level as long as he is on the field, we don't know what will come of this. Hopefully this is precautionary, but keep an eye on Young this week to see if he gets back to practicing.

Posted: 11/2/2012 6:45pm et

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 2, and is listed as probable for Week 9.

Huddle Up: If you have Young on your roster, ride the hot hand as 15 of the WR's 26 receptions, 181 of his 304 yards and 2 of his 3 TD catches have come in the past 2 games.

Posted: 10/23/2012 7:23pm et

Detroit Lions WRs Titus Young and Ryan Broyles will split duties as the slot receiver with WR Nate Burleson (leg) out for the rest of the season. TE Tony Scheffler is also an option out of the slot. Young caught a game-high six passes in Week 7 Monday, Oct. 22, after battling a knee injury in the first five games. Broyles caught the first three passes of his career Monday.

Huddle Up: Young (team-high 81 receiving yards) and Broyles (51 yards, TD) stood out Monday night in a game where the whole Lions' offense basically was a hot mess. However, things don't get easier this week with the Seahawks' defense coming to Motown.
