Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts has bulked up from 195 pounds to 202 pounds. He's hoping a strength boost will help him get off the line of scrimmage more effectively against press coverage. Shorts worked with rookies during the team's scheduled time off, and he'll train with Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald for the second straight summer.
Huddle Up: Working with Fitz can only help Shorts, and he'll spend at least the first month of the season as the Jaguars' WR1 with Justin Blackmon out so he'll need to be bigger to shed press coverage from opposing teams' top cornerbacks. So long as Shorts' newfound bulk doesn't take away from his speed, this is a positive development for a productive receiver still flying under the fantasy radar.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts has been cleared for activities following a concussion.
Huddle Up: Shorts was one of the surprise breakout players of the season. With the concussion behind him he'll be ready to go when the Jaguars begin offseason activities; however, any cred he may have built up last season likely left when Jacksonville retooled its administrative staff.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) was placed on Injured Reserve Monday, Dec. 24.
Huddle Up: Tough end to a breakout season for Shorts, who had 55 catches for 979 yards and 7 TDs for the Jags. First-round pick Justin Blackmon, who's coming off a 7-79-TD game in Week 16, will be the team's No. 1 wideout in Sunday's regular-season finale.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts left the Week 16 game against the New England Patriots due to concussion.
Huddle Up: That's two concussions for Shorts, and the latest will most likely bring to an end his breakout season. Too early to tell if he's heading down the Austin Collie/Jahvid Best path, but it's definitely a concern heading into 2013.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts caught six passes for 101 yards in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.
Huddle Up: He didn't get in the end zone -- no one on the Jags did Sunday -- but he did make an impressive return after a 1-game concussion absence.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 14, and is listed as probable for Week 15.
Huddle Up: As we saw earlier this week, Shorts is on track to play this week against Miami, which does not boast a particularly good secondary. He could have a nice day.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) has been cleared to practice and play Week 15. He is not dealing with any concussion symptoms.
Huddle Up: Good news for fantasy owners, assuming he is cleared for contact. He has a pretty good matchup against the Dolphins secondary this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 14.
Huddle Up: This is unfortunate for anyone riding Shorts into the playoffs. The second-year receiver will hopefully be back for Week 15, but take him out of your lineups for this weekend if you haven't already.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) was not taking part in practice Thursday, Dec. 6.
Huddle Up: Shorts has been one of the waiver-wire finds of the season with 7 total TDs and at least 77 receiving yards in 7 of the past 8 games, but the blow to the head he suffered late in Week 13 is starting to look like it will end that run.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (concussion) will not practice Wednesday, Dec. 5, despite passing his concussion tests. Shorts is sitting out because he is still dealing with some symptoms.
Huddle Up: This could be a big problem for anyone who has been riding Shorts lately. While he was cleared, experiencing symptoms is still serious. See if he practices later in the week, otherwise you might be out of luck with him this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts and RB Rashad Jennings will enter the concussion program this week, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, after both suffered head injuries in Sunday's Week 13 game against the Bills.
Huddle Up: Shorts continued his breakout run with 7 catches for 77 yards and a TD before suffering his injury in the fourth quarter. Jennings, meanwhile, left in the second quarter after gaining 20 yards on 8 carries. Follow practice updates this week to gauge their status for Week 14.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) was participating during the media-access portion of practice Friday, Nov. 30.
Huddle Up: Shorts owners can breathe a sigh of relief; it looks like the Jaguars were holding him out as a precaution earlier this week. The second-year player has a nice matchup against the Bills this week.
Posted: 11/29/2012 7:16pm et
Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Justin Blackmon (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 29.
Huddle Up: With both starting WRs sitting out, some red flags have been raised about the emerging Jaguar passing game, but wait until Friday's practice report before weighing any fantasy lineup decisions.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts finished with 6 receptions for a game-high
105 yards and the team's lone TD Thursday night in a 27-10 Week 10 loss to the
Indianapolis Colts.
Huddle Up: Laurent Robinson actually led the Jags in receptions with a season-high 9 for 77
yards in the game, but, once again, Shorts came up with the team's biggest play,
snaring a 4-yard TD pass from Chad Henne in the fourth quarter. It was the team-
leading 4th TD of the season for Shorts, who also paces the Jags in receiving with
29 catches for 561 yards.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said WR Cecil Shorts will remain one of the starting wide receiver even though WR Laurent Robinson (concussion) is expected to return.
Huddle Up: The second-year receiver has been a pleasant surprise for the Jaguars this season, and it looks like they will reward him by letting him keep the starting gig when Laurent Robinson returns. Shorts has been the best receiver for the Jaguars this season, so this should not be a big shock. He has value as a WR3, and it will continue to rise if he continues to perform consistently.
