Washington Redskins RB Evan Royster (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.
Huddle Up: Hopefully he can go, but this could mean the beginning of the Ryan Grant era in Washington. Alfred Morris' grip on the lead back role gets tighter with injuries to Royster and Roy Helu. Royster should be a go this weekend after all, but nobody has put any pressure on Morris, who has seized his opportunity and hasn't looked back.

Despite being listed as the top tailback on the Week 1 depth chart released Monday, Sept. 3, RB Evan Royster is still unsure if he will be the starter against the New Orleans Saints. "I think they're going to keep us pretty much in the dark until probably the day before the game," Royster said.
Huddle Up: It feels like Shanahan would be happiest if he could give his backs tinted facemasks and cover their numbers so nobody knew who was carrying the ball. Eventually he'll have to announce a starter--probably right before game time--but that doesn't mean whomever starts will get the bulk of the carries. Hey, you draft a Redskins running back for your fantasy team you know what you're getting into.

Washington Redskins RB Evan Royster is listed as the starting running back on the team's Week 1 depth chart.
Huddle Up: I think we all know the drill here. Believe nothing you hear from Shanahan and only half of what you see when it comes to his running back plans.

Washington Redskins RB Evan Royster is trying to take over the team's No. 1 running back duties. To win the starting job, he has to outperform RBs Roy Helu and Tim Hightower. 'We're all trying to do that. So it's going to be tough,' Royster said. 'You can't tackle him,' Mike Shanahan said about Royster. 'He makes people miss. He knows how to cut and he knows when to cut.' Royster said he feels comfortable in the offense. He did note that the one thing he wants to improve on is his conditioning, as he felt he wasn't as prepared physically last season.
Huddle Up: Royster is technically the third RB, but under Mike Shanahan even a practice-squad back can be activated on a Monday and carry the ball 18 times on Sunday.
