New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said QB Greg McElroy will start Week 17.
Huddle Up: FYI only if you're the most desperate of the desperate in a huge league ...

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Greg McElroy will start in Week 16. Jets head coach Rex Ryan also may find a way to incorporate QB Tim Tebow into the gameplan against the San Diego Chargers, according to a source.
Huddle Up: While McElroy is bound to be a little less charitable than Mark Sanchez, it's still not going to do anything for the fantasy values of the Jets' remaining offensive players. As for Tebow, it looks as if Ryan and the Jets are going to be stubborn to the bitter end and not give No. 15 a starting shot -- even now that the team is playing only for pride.

Greg McElroy connected with rookie RB Terrance Ganaway on a 6-yard scoring
pass in the second quarter Thursday night for the Jets' first touchdown of the
preseason. Still, New York lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 28-10.
Huddle Up: Paydirt -- at last! Still, the breakthrough TD does little for the confidence of starter
Mark Sanchez, who's feeling the heat from the coaching staff, Big Apple fans and
ballyhooed backup Tim Tebow entering the regular season. It could be a long
season -- fantasy and reality -- in New York.
