Dallas Cowboys RB Kendial Lawrence could compete with RBs Lance
Dunbar and Phillip Tanner for the final running back roster spot
during offseason workouts and training camp.
Huddle Up: Dunbar and Tanner combined to rush for an unimpressive 136 yards on
46 carries last season with DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones banged
up, leaving the door ajar for Lawrence, an undrafted free agent from
Missouri.

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar picked up more carries in the Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons than RB Phillip Tanner. Head coach Jason Garrett explained that Tanner's special teams duties pushed the team to give Dunbar more touches.
Huddle Up: It was a stat-sheet surprise to see Dunbar with 8 carries this past Sunday night to Tanner's 1, but the bottom line is that the Dallas ground game hasn't been effective (66 carries for only 169 yards) over the past 3 games as the team awaits DeMarco Murray's return.

Dallas Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner worked with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, Oct. 24, because of injuries to RB DeMarco Murray (foot) and RB Felix Jones (knee).
Huddle Up: Tanner might see a big workload this week if Jones' injury limits him any further. Murray looks like he will miss at least another week, and Jones has been known for injuries in the past. Monitor Felix's status through the rest of the week, but Tanner could be a sneaky flex play if the injury lingers for Jones.
