Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary intimated WR Isaac Bruce may play in the team's Week 11 game, but Singletary did not say how much time he would receive. Singletary said, "I know he's not starting. Whether he's No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5, I don't know right now."
The Huddle Take: Bruce has quickly fallen behind Michael Crabtree and Jason Hill in the Niners' passing game pecking order, and Josh Morgan is at least alongside of him if not ahead of him. Fantasy-wise Bruce is no longer on the map.

The Sacramento Bee reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary revealed Monday, Nov. 9, that WR Isaac Bruce (ankle) has been nursing a sore ankle.
The Huddle Take: Regardless of the reason, Bruce may have seen pretty much the end of his NFL career Sunday. He may get a play or two on the way out, but with the young group of solid receivers in San Francisco and Vernon Davis finally living up to his potential, Bruce just doesn't fit any more. This is a young team, and young is something Bruce is not. He's been a great receiver, but it seems to be time to say goodbye.

Matt Maiocco, of The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers WR Jason Hill replaced WR Isaac Bruce in the lineup in Week 9. Bruce was not among the players listed on the team's injury report following the game. Hill would finish with four receptions for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
The Huddle Take: The changing of the guard continues in San Francisco. Bruce was brought in primarily to help 49ers receivers acclimate to Mike Martz's offense, but with Martz gone he was just a veteran presence. And when Michael Crabtree signed, Bruce was just eating up playing time from the future of the franchise. Going forward it's likely to be Crabtree, Hill, and Josh Morgan claiming the bulk of the playing time in San Francisco's passing game.

ESPN.com reports San Francisco 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan said it is 50-50 on whether WR Isaac Bruce will return to the team next season.
The Huddle Take: The veteran had a few flashes last season, but his primary value was his understanding of the Mike Martz system. Now that Martz is gone and the Niners will be running a more conservative system, Bruce may call it a career or at least look for a more pass-happy offense.

The Associated Press reports San Francisco 49ers WR Isaac Bruce caught five passes for 67 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 13 game. It was his 90th career touchdown, making him the ninth player in NFL history to reach that mark.
The Huddle Take: The ageless Isaac Bruce continues to play at a level and gives his team a solid receiving target every week. He is not as quick as he once was but there is no doubt that he can still play the position and provide the 49ers a nice veteran playmaker capable of moving the chains on a consistent basis. Bruce is a decent No. 3 receiver with occasional games where he can produce as a No. 2 for fantasy teams.
